Syftet med mitt examensarbete är att undersöka engelskans påverkan på det svenska språket som den kommer till uttryck i svenska grundskolelevers inställning till och attityder till användning av engelska i svenskan.Här vill jag ta reda på hur eleverna kommer i kontakt med engelskan, hur ofta de använder engelska ord i sitt vardagliga språk och varför de använder engelska ord. Andra frågor som jag vill få besvarade är vilka engelska ord som används, om man föredrar engelsk stavning på engelska lånord eller svensk stavning. Slutligen vill jag också få besvarat om man föredrar engelska ord eller svenska motsvarigheter, om man förstår svenska meningar med lånord i, om man godtar svenska meningar med engelska lånord i och om man använder svenska meningar med engelska lånord i. Arbetet bygger på en enkätundersökning som gjorts på två grundskolor, en friskola och en kommunal skola. I undersökningen deltar 40 elever i år 9.

It is a well known archaeological concern that the remains of human bones left from the bronze age and early iron age Scandinavia are not nearly enough to represent the estimated population of the time. Furthermore the bones of each find rarely represent a whole individual. The majority of the bones must have been disposed of somewhere else, possibly scattered in running waters or in the fields, where they have evaporated or are securely hidden from archaeological excavations.This thesis deals with the grave concept and the problem in using a word that is so very clouded by its modern, western meaning. It also offers an alternative explanation to why the bones are handled the way they are and why they are found in such awkward contexts..

The purpose of our research was to explore the social situation of unaccompanied children. We also aimed to reveal the relation between their social situation and their identity development. The overall purpose were to describe their social situation, the value of significant others, how different languages influence their identity development and finally how their origin affects their future dreams.In order to achieve the best result in our research a qualitative method was used. This was based on qualitative interviews and was disposed around a very loose set of questions in order to let the interviewees lead the way. The analysis of the result was conducted on the basis of a set of theories and concepts in order to understand the identity development.

Purpose: The purpose with the essay is to examine how some teacher?s works with intercultural questions, if they are looking after student?s cultural background, earlier experiences and knowledge?s in their teaching. We have formulated three questions whom we want answer to.Method: The essay began with a theoretical research to get more knowledge of intercultural pedagogic. The study part is based on seven interviews in two schools in Södertälje, five with teachers and two with assistant principals. The conclusions of our essay are based on the results of our study.Result: The study shows that the two discourses ?national self-understanding? and ?the democratic credot? still lives and compete with each other.

The purpose of this study is to explore the factors affecting an individual's working life mobility and how this mobility is perceived by the individual. The study has a qualitative approach and the theoretical part is based on Castells', Giddens' and Bauman's theories of modern society and employment in relation to the individual. The study concludes that external circumstances in combination with internal driving forces are the reasons behind changing careers. The process is predominantly perceived as positive, especially education tends to strengthen self-identity. This thesis presents a system which has been implemented to satisfy a need in theresearch on how speech planning interacts with syntactic and prosodic structure inspontaneous speech. The long-term purpose of the research is to provide models forautomatic parsing of spontaneous speech and for psycholinguistical modelling of speechproduction. Identification of inhalation pauses is an important step in the developmentof automatic methods for spontaneous speech parsing.Identification of inhalation pauses is considered to be a keyword-spotting speechrecognition problem. Hybrid HMM(Hidden Markov Models)/ANN(Artificial NeuralNetworks) approach is applied to this problem. Method gets 90,8% in Recall, 66,4% inPrecision and 76,7% in F-score.

Forskare, föräldrar och förskolepersonal har sedan länge lagt märke till att inlärningen av färger och deras beteckningar skiljer sig från inlärningen av andra adjektiv och från substantiv. En undersökning har genomförts med syftet att komma närmare svaret på frågan: hur går det till när barn lär sig kopplingen mellan färg och färgterm? Ett trettiotal barn i åldern två till fyra år har deltagit i ett test med tre delmoment. Analysen har utgått från tre frågeställningar: Hur ter sig kopplingen mellan färg och färgterm i olika åldrar? Finns det någon skillnad mellan enspråkiga och tvåspråkiga barn? Följer barns inlärningsmönster den av Berlin och Kay (1969) föreslagna implikationsordningen? Undersökningsresultaten visar att redan barn som är två år kan göra en korrekt koppling mellan färg och färgterm.

The thesis explores the Uncovered Interest rate Parity (UIP) and the possibility of cross-currency arbitrage between England, Germany and Sweden. The data is gathered between May 1999 and December 2005 on a monthly basis and is compared using simple regression analysis. The aim is to find out whether UIP holds and, if it does not, a risk premium exists that makes it possible to make arbitrage gains on moving capital between England, Germany and Sweden. It is discovered that UIP does not hold and that cross-currency arbitrage possibilities exist. The study examines conceptions of identity among girls with foreign background. The aim was to study how identity is understood by the girls based on ethnicity, images of the origin, the value of gender and the meaning of the family. The theoretical approach was post-colonial theory based on Stuart Hall in combination with gender theory by Yvonne Hirdman. The study was conducted using qualitative individual interviews of open character with six girls. They were aged 17-18 years old and were born in Sweden or had lived here since the age of six.

Vi lever i ett mångkulturellt samhälle och i många av Sveriges skolor utgör barn med invandrarbakgrund en stor del av elevantalet. Syftet med mitt arbete är att skaffa mig kunskap om vad tvåspråkighet är för något och hur man kan arbeta språkutvecklande med invandrarbarn i år 1-3. Arbetet består av en litteraturstudie och ett fältarbete. Målet med litteraturstudien är att ge läsaren bakgrundskunskap till begreppet tvåspråkighet. Litteraturstudienberör bland annat definitioner, modersmålets roll för andraspråksutvecklingen, språkutveckling i allmänhet, olika typer av tvåspråkighet, språkfenomen, påverkansfaktorer, effekter, samt tvåspråkighet i skolan.

Integration also has a practical aspect that includes everyday life and affects one's opportunities in the labor market. Therefore, we have selected in this paper to focus on the language and integration but inevitably we will also discuss the education you need on the labor market. The purpose of this study is to describe how the staffs at the Language Café Nobel works for an increased integration in Malmo, and examine the significance of Language Café Nobel have for their participants.
