This thesis has been conducted at Saab Bofors Dynamics AB. The purpose was to investigate if a non-linear missile model could be stabilized when the optimal control signal is computed considering constraints on the control input. This is particularly interesting because the missile is controlled with rudders that have physical bounds. This strategy is called Model Predictive Control. Simulations are conducted to compare this strategy with others; firstly simulations with step responses and secondly simulations when the missile is supposed to hit a moving target.

A new code for corporate governance was introduced for major companies in Sweden in July 2005. This act is to some degree a follower to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act that was introduced in the U.S.A. after the Enron scandal. The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the effect on the controller in response to the introduction of this new act. Three controllers in major Swedish companies was interviewed and asked if and how they had been affected by this new act.

Kanske kan mananvända ett eller flera designmönster för att lösa detta.I avsnittet Teori visas en kort genomgång på tänkbara designmönster som kananvändas för att sedan välja ut maximalt tre av dessa och undersöka desssvagheter samt hur man kan förbättra det.Slutsatsen av rapporten är en övergripande Model-View-Controller där delarnakan ha olika designmönster som passar för den aktuella applikationen. Over the last 25 year IT development has greatly influenced the waycompanies are managed, the tremendous growth in the information society has made a huge amount of information extremely accessible. This has resulted in the problem of information overload where the large amount of information can affect the quality of a decision basis collected by a controller.The purpose of the study is to examine how a controller is affected by information overload and how this influences the decision basis. We intend to highlight the important elements to represent a high quality of information.A survey was conducted through a case study within a global affiliated company in the packaging industry. An adductive approach has been applied with a qualitative research method. Collected empirical material from interviews has been put into relation with existing theories.The case study indicates that there is no relationship between the problem of information overload and flawed decision basis.

Bakgrund: Controller är ett yrke som kom till Sverige på 1970-talet och det har sedan dess varit svårt att hitta en generell definition på vad en controllers huvudsakliga arbetsuppgifter är. Undersökningar med controllers har visat att yrket är i ständig utveckling. Litteratur inom området hävdar att en controller bör vara utbildad inom ekonomi och generellt sett arbeta med ekonomistyrning. Arbetsuppgifterna som controllers har varierar dock stort och problemet är att företag idag använder titeln controller som en fin titel och för att kunna forma rollen själva då den är så pass svårdefinierad.Syfte: Uppsatsens syfte är att definiera den typiska controllerns bakgrund samt dennes främsta arbetsuppgifter. Uppsatsen syftar även till att skapa förståelse för hur utvecklingen har sett ut inom yrket hittills samt skapa en bild av vilka arbetsområden controllers tror kommer kräva mer av deras tid i framtiden.Metod: För att uppfylla uppsatsens syfte har en kvantitativ studie gjorts där insamling av data har gjorts via en enkät.

A wastewater treatment plant has the task to refine the wastewater from substances that should not be released into the environment. The decomposition process can, in a simple way, be described as follows: micro-organisms breathe oxygen and eat unwanted substances. The environment in which the micro-organism lives is known as sludge and the correct amount of oxygen available in the sludge is important for the decomposition to be effective. The oxygenation of the sludge alone stands for about 30% of the plant?s energy consumption.

I vår studie har vi undersökt om svenska controllers utför arbetsuppgifter som är att betrakta som controlleruppgifter. Vi har även undersökt om yrket påminner om en profession eller om den är på väg mot att bli en sådan.Studien är baserad på personliga intervjuer med två controllers verksamma på forsknings- och utvecklingsavdelningen i sina respektive företag samt med forsknings- och utvecklingschefen i det ena företaget.Resultaten av studien visar att de controllers som studerats utför arbetsuppgifter som är att betrakta som controlleruppgifter men att det dessutom för en av dem förekom arbetsuppgifter vilka ligger utanför det som vår studerade teori betecknar som controlleruppgifter. Det föreligger tecken på att yrket har vissa likheter med en profession men att den har en lång väg att vandra innan denna status kan uppnås..

In this thesis, it is investigated if it is possible to create a common factor of the work tasks done by an air traffic controller, which then can measure workload. This will lead to the development of a tool to measure workload at small airports. In the research project a questionnaire is created to measure the different tasks an air traffic controller has. The same questionnaire will also measure the number of environmental factors that exists around the air traffic controller. To measure the validity of the questionnaire, the authors are using NASA-TLX.

This report describes the scientific work of designing and manufacturing an intelligent controller module prototype for automobile trailer connections. The functions of the module are both to drive the lamps and detect failures. The module also contains functions to handle other functions of the trailer. To learn about controller modules the group does extensive feasibility study.The group receives three already existing modules, the functions of the three modules are studied and tested in the lab, this is done too get a overview of the construction. The method used I called reversed engineering, a way of constructing by analyzing constructions already done.When the modules are analyzed, the functions of the prototype are tested and designed without copying the analyzed modules.

Background: In 1998 it was stated that Swedish municipalities would report the pension liabilities according to the mixed model where the pension liabilities before 1998 was moved from the balance sheet. The mixed model has been criticized by economists for not showing the total pension liabilities. To remove some of the liabilities in the municipalities balance sheets means that the solvency improves. Some municipalities have decided to go against the municipal accounting law and recognize all of the pension liability as a liability according to the full funding model. When two accounting models are being used the comparison of the municipalities' financial statements is much harder.Purpose: The main purpose of this study was to study the reason why some municipalities apply full funding model rather than the mixed model.

This report describes the design and construction of a prototype that automatically aims a microwave link towards a target. The link, that is located on a mobile aerial mast, is used by Saab Training Systems as a part of an infrastructure network. The report also discusses the development of a GUI that communicates with the control unit by Bluetooth.The control unit, called Pan/Tilt-controller, controls the position of the link by stepping motors. One motor controls the azimuth angle and the other one controls the elevation angle.By a GUI the operator enters the coordinates on its own position and the targets position. Hereafter a bearing is calculated and it will be sent up to the control unit.The control unit will sense its own direction by a magnetic sensor that works as an electronic compass.

 This abstract describes the bachelor degree thesis in computer technology at Växjö University. The company BSR in Växjö has requested an application that can measure a cars performance, with attributes like acceleration times and engine power estimation. The communication between car and computer is via the USB port on the computer and the OBD-II socket on the car with the network protocol CAN, controller area network. Cars from VAG have been the primary focus group and the application has been tested on a Volkswagen Passat CC from 2009. The system is developed in the programming language C# in the environment Visual Studio with the framework .NET.

This thesis considers the development of the software for an, newly developed, embedded real-time control system, based on a Periferal Interface Controller (PIC). The control system is developed to be used for several different applications. In this thesis work, software for two different applications are developed. The first task is a time controlled system, while the other task is implementation of aPI-/PID-controller. A user interface is also developed and implemented.The time controlled system is an automatic horse feeder, which is used for feeding horses at certain predefined points in time.
