The aim of this paper is to examine whether the theory of cosmopolitan democracy provides a satisfactory solution to the boundary problem in democratic theory. I argue that David Held's version of cosmopolitan democracy rests on two incompatibleprinciples: the all-affected principle and the all-inclusive principle. However, the theory does not need to presuppose both these principles; it requires only one of them.Furthermore, I try to show that both of these principles fail to provide an adequate solution to the boundary problem. The all-inclusive principle suggests that all citizens of the world should be included in a global democratic unit. I argue that such an ideal is not desirable since it conflicts with the principle of subsidiarity and withdraws from regional political communities their sovereignty.

Studies show that older is an increased proportion patients in hospital and that it is a patient group that can be difficult to communicate with because of older patients' often multiple disease picture. Relatives to the patient can be help for caregivers in the communication and the care of the patient. The aim with the study was to examine relative's experience of participation, meeting/support, accessibility and information on a geriatrics rehabilitation care unit. The study had a descriptive design and was designed as a questionnaire study. It was implemented on one geriatrics rehabilitation care unit on the countryside in central Sweden, belong to Uppsala University hospital.

This essay is about the asylum and immigration politics within the EU. Due to the heavy criticism the EU has been exposed to from among others different kind of human rights organizations I have become interested to find out what kind of asylum and migration politics right now is being formed by the member states of the union. Thus the purpose is also to see if the EU is creating a policy within this area that intends to live up to the human rights obligations.My overall research question is:Which ideas characterize the asylum and immigration politics within the EU?The theoretical perspectives of universalism and particularism are used as two analytical tools in order to understand the phenomenon I am investigating and to identify its characterizing ideas. Ericsson Mobile Communications AB (ECS) i Kumla producerar mobiltelefoner, främst digitala mobiltelefoner. Produktionsenheten ytmontage producerar idag kretskort baserade på prognos erhållen ifrån slutmontage som slutmonterar den färdiga telefonen. Problem har dock uppstått efter införandet av Build To Order (BTO), detta innebär en utvidgning av synen på att producera en telefon mot kundorder. Prognosen tar dock inte hänsyn till slumpmässiga fluktuationer, vilket innebär ojämn produktionstakt samt ökad belastning på personalen inom ytmontage. Problemen förvärras ytterligare genom att vissa kretskort ska produceras hos legoleverantörer.

I detta arbete har vi studerat tjänsten SMS-betalning. Vi har fokuserat på att utvärdera och beskriva tjänstens användningsområde samt dess styrkor och svagheter. Utifrån företaget Mobill, vars affärsidé är att utveckla en betalningstjänst via SMS har vi fått en bild av hur ett företag kan satsa på denna teknik. I en studie med konsumenterna har vi visat den generella bilden av inställningen till betalningstjänsten, detta för att vidare kunna utvärdera betalningssystemet. Dessa studier har båda en kvalitativ karaktär.

It's an everyday experience shared by many that nature can be of help in relieving pain, reducing stress, support mental recovery etc. In the last three decades or so this experience has also found support in a large number of scientific investigations. Among other things the experience of nature has been shown to reduce stress and pain in patients and to boost concentration and reduce impulsive behavior in children. Most of this research however has mainly been concerned with the visual modality. In this thesis the aim has been to focus on the auditory modality in this context by trying to reveal some effects on people from the exposure of nature sounds played indoors in three different environments: a grammar school class room, a kindergarten play room and a post-surgery wake up room at an intensive care unit.

In additionto that electric propulsion systems have gotten more popular lately, which further increasesthe demand for high battery capacity. The batteries used are mostly lead-acid batteries and toget the most out of the batteries it is important to treat them right. To optimize the electricsystem it is important to have knowledge of how the batteries and the electric motor are usedand which factors affect e.g. efficiency and recharging.A new electric drive that can replace old diesel engines is being developed and needs testingand evaluation.

Ibyggbranschen i Sverige idag strävas det efter att fortsätta utvecklingen av eneffektivisering gällande miljö, kvalitet och styrning.Samhället och byggbranchen har utvecklats och digitaliserats enormt de senasteåren, dock har vissa mindre delområden avstannat och det är bland annatdigitala metoder för arbetsordrar och registrering bland hantverkare.  Studien som är gjord syftar därför till att undersöka ifall det går atteffektivisera och digitalisera metoder gällande arbetsordrar och registrering.Uppsatsen syftar till att undersöka ifall det går att effektivisera styrningen,miljöpåverkan, kvaliteten och ekonomiska delar bland byggföretag med hjälp aven mobil applikationslösning.I studien har jag valt att använda mig utav teori gällande miljö, kvalitet,styrning och finansiering där jag fördjupat mig i delar som är påverkningsbarmed hjälp av ett digitalt verktyg i form av en mobil applikation och dessfunktioner.För ett införande av applikationslösningen krävs det en invänjning och enmotivation ifrån hantverkarna eftersom att det innebär en stor förändringjämfört med den manuella metoden som använts under en längre tidsperiod. Detframgår att arbetsbelastningen för vissa delar i arbetet kan minska blandtjänstemännen vid  ett fullständigtinförande av den mobila portalen eftersom att vissa led försvinner när detgäller bland annat arbetsordrar och registrering. Jag kan konstatera att enförbättrad och förenklad version av applikationslösningen krävs för att få ettfullständigt införande bland hantverkarna..

Simulation is a vital tool during development of JAS 39 Gripen, since money and time can be saved.The Auxiliary and Emergency Power System, AEPS, is a subsystem of the secondary power system in Gripen. It has the function of providing the aircraft with electrical and hydraulical power before activation and after deactivation of the main engine. The system also functions as backup in case of a safety critical problem in the main power supply system. The system basically consists of a control unit and an auxiliary gearbox. The gearbox is driven by an air turbine.

The purpose of the project was to make a system that could extract data from a mobile eye tracker and make it comparable with data from visual stimuli. The produced system was programmed in Java and provided all the necessary parts that were required to achieve the purpose. This provides a foundation for further research to determine whether the eye tracker is sufficiently accurate to diagnose Parkinson?s disease..

ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to explore nurses' experiences of informing relatives to critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU).MethodThe study was descriptive with a qualitative approach. Nine nurses were interviewed. The study took place in a university hospital in the midst of Sweden. An interview guide was used, designed in consensus with the study questions. Data was analyzed via qualitative content analysis.FindingsMeeting and preparing relatives at the arrival at the ICU seemed valuable and led to safety and participation among relatives.

The study was carried out at the Kungsängen Research Centre, Department of Animal Nutrition and Management, Swedish University of Agriculture Sciences, Uppsala. The technical development in dairy production has resulted in a housing system where feeding and milking is done automatically without human contact, a so called automatic milking system. The motives for utilising an automatic milking system, is to increase the animal welfare and to decrease the need for manual labour. However, the system does involve a change for the animals, among the effects is the deprival or the diminishment of a chance for synchronous behaviour and the animals have to agree among themselves in which order they use the feeding stations and the milking unit itself. How and if this affects the animals well-being and production is yet to be solved. This report is the result of a thesis performed at Westermo Industrial Ltd with its headquarters in Stora Sundby and it sums up the author's studies for University Engineering in Innovation, Production and Logistics at Mälardalen University.The main goal of the thesis was to identify problems and suggest actions that lead to the reduction of the repair time from 3 weeks to 2 weeks. The key questions that were answered in order to achieve the thesis objectives are: What are the biggest challenges that make the repair process time last for 3 weeks? What are the necessary means and measures in order to reduce the repair length to 2 weeks? The author adjusted the work to the Swedish repairs, repair issues that arise from sell unit Westermo Data Communications AB with its office in Västerås and performed the status report by mapping the repair process, through using observations, interviews and bibliography research studies. A flow map of four sub-processes (Inbound Delivery, BackOffice, Repair Department, and Logistics) was made and each section was observed, where also the employees were interviewed. Data that has been collected was analysed by the author and the decision to execute a workshop that affects Repair Department and Logistics was made.
