Energioptimering av industriellt tryckluftssystem
This report is a bachelor thesis presented at the department of Computer Science andEngineering at Chalmers University of Technology. The aim for the project is to find a simplemethod to measure and display physical quantities in a three dimensional room.The report describes a method to construct a system for measuring differentphysical quantities via sensors. The system must be built in a modular and expandable way tobe adaptable to different tasks.The system explained in the report consists of two parts;A physical scanner with moveable probes for carrying sensors and a microcontroller forcontrolling the probes and communicating with the next part.An application written in Java for storing the measured values and presenting them in a lucidperspective.It is possible to construct the scanner with different designs and circuitry, with multiplexers andflip-flops, to ensure that an unspecified number of probes can be added to the system and thatthey can be operated simultaneously.The Java application is written in a modular way, using a design pattern that separates eachindividual part of the application. It contains exceptions and interfaces that ensure a safe andexpandable application..

Increased consciousness about environmental and sustainable issues has led to consumers and companies who are more in favor of reuse and recycle. Even though this is a fact, people today are buying new things more often compared to before. For instance for a mobile phone the functionality lifecycle is eight years which can be related to the economic lifecycle today which is 1.5 years compared to 3 years in 1995. Only 1-2 percent of the mobile phones thrown away in Sweden today are handed in for recycling. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether an international company within the recycling and reuse of mobile phone industry has a market in Sweden.

Design av en mobil arbetsterminal för röntgenavdelningar
In healthcare settings, administrative routines have been made more efficientthrough digitalization of information and the introduction of stationary computers.This situation is especially true when it comes to radiology, where pictures,referrals and patient information now is completely managed by advanced stationarycomputer systems. However, studies have shown that these rationalizationsdo not support flexible and mobile work routines.PocketRIS is a prototype illustrating a mobile terminal for radiology that hasbeen designed to simplify workflow and reduce the cognitive workload of healthcarepersonnel. PocketRIS includes a visualization of the clinicians work situationincluding a personal referral list that can make the user attentive of importantevents.Contextual Design has been used to elicit the basic system requirements for thesystem; 19 contextual inquires was conducted with physicians, nurses and assistantnurses at two different radiology clinics in Sweden during six days. The purposeof the study was also to identify the groups that have the greatest need for amobile terminal. The study was concerned with design and evaluation of differentsolutions with healthcare personnel.The result shows that physicians and assistant nurses have the greatest need ofa mobile terminal.

Near Field Communication, NFC, is a short-range wireless communication technology that enables data exchange between devices in a secure way. A NFC phone has the potential to enable the convergence of wallet, phone and keys, but as many other technological innovations, the launch is struggling. We have discovered that technological innovation is only the first step. For an innovation to be adapted, there need to be business model innovation too. Many actors form the ecosystem of NFC and the business model for each service is still an unsolved problem.
Modernisering av GCM : Ett webbgränssnitt för hantering av artikelinformation
GCM is a product information management system which handles data for consumer packaged goods. GCM was developed during the middle of the nineties and was acquired by Prevas AB in 2004. The GCM application relies on the services provided by the organization GS1, which supplies global specifications and validations for trade items across several sectors. GCM is updated regularly due to the frequent changes in specifications from GS1. However, the overall graphical user interface design has not been redesigned during these years.This dissertation studies possible improvements for the webpage that handles product data in GCM.
Lagafors CPU : Chemical Production Unit
This dissertation is performed at the request of Lagafors AB who develops and manufactures stationery and mobile hygiene solutions for companies in the food- processing industry. The objective of this dissertation is to develop and construct a new, cost efficient cleaning station based on an innovative technology.The technique is based on serially connected dosing pumps which allow the customer to work with concentrated detergents. This leads to serious reduction in the clients use expenses. Two units have been developed with this technique, one that is stationary and one that is mobile.The dissertation has led to good results which resulted in the sale of the first stationary unit of the Lagafors CPU before the end of this dissertation. .
Optimering av CellularIP-nätverk
Cellular IP är ett nytt nätverksprotokoll på ingång som är tänkt att lösa prestandaproblemen i Mobile IP. Influenser har tagits från hur mobiltelefonnäten är uppbyggda för att lösa problemen med förflyttning mellan basstationer på ett smidigt sätt. Detta examensarbete syftade till att optimera routingfunktionen i ett Cellular IP nätverk och integrera det med Mobile IP. I uppgiften ingick också att installera och om nödvändigt modifiera befintlig kod för Linux Mandrake. Rapporten innehåller dokumentation för installation och konfiguration av protokollet samt all nödvändig programvara.
Mobil Portal bland hantverkare : En studie av implementering av en mobil applikationslösning bland hantverkare
Ibyggbranschen i Sverige idag strävas det efter att fortsätta utvecklingen av eneffektivisering gällande miljö, kvalitet och styrning.Samhället och byggbranchen har utvecklats och digitaliserats enormt de senasteåren, dock har vissa mindre delområden avstannat och det är bland annatdigitala metoder för arbetsordrar och registrering bland hantverkare. Studien som är gjord syftar därför till att undersöka ifall det går atteffektivisera och digitalisera metoder gällande arbetsordrar och registrering.Uppsatsen syftar till att undersöka ifall det går att effektivisera styrningen,miljöpåverkan, kvaliteten och ekonomiska delar bland byggföretag med hjälp aven mobil applikationslösning.I studien har jag valt att använda mig utav teori gällande miljö, kvalitet,styrning och finansiering där jag fördjupat mig i delar som är påverkningsbarmed hjälp av ett digitalt verktyg i form av en mobil applikation och dessfunktioner.För ett införande av applikationslösningen krävs det en invänjning och enmotivation ifrån hantverkarna eftersom att det innebär en stor förändringjämfört med den manuella metoden som använts under en längre tidsperiod. Detframgår att arbetsbelastningen för vissa delar i arbetet kan minska blandtjänstemännen vid ett fullständigtinförande av den mobila portalen eftersom att vissa led försvinner när detgäller bland annat arbetsordrar och registrering. Jag kan konstatera att enförbättrad och förenklad version av applikationslösningen krävs för att få ettfullständigt införande bland hantverkarna..

As a result of a successful human development around the world an extensive urbanization of societies are taking place that are networked in various ways. In these networks, increased travel and digitization are central where individuals and organizations converge in a constant and immediate wireless and mobile technology flow. An example of this is Stockholm and its public transportation company Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL). Although most participate in most of the network society, SL is struggling with an audience that seldom travel with them: families with children. We intended to find out how the communication of SL´s digital platforms could get families to travel more with public transportation.

While designing an intranet for people with mobile work there are things you have to consider. This thesis is aim to bring understanding to the difficulties involved in these kinds of situations. Our focus is to develop ideas that motivate the assistants to use the intranet. We have looked into the profession of personal assistants and wish to highlight their problems to access the intranet. And we will as well demonstrate their needs for communication.

The use of vision applications are growing and the demand for integration and connectivity with other industrial automation control devices is increasing. Some businesses that are using vision technology follow US Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) regulation concerning audit trail. This thesis investigates the possibility to use vision technology for counting objects, achieving connectivity and to follow FDAs audit trail regulation. A market survey has been used to select suitable hardware and software to be used in the design of an application that is able to count objects and that uses standard industrial network connection i.e. OPC data access and Microsoft?s .NET components over Ethernet.
