In this diploma work the approach of determining the required amount of reinforcement in slabs exposed to pure tension is processed, on behalf of Ramböll Uppsala. It is a well-known problem in the industry that there are uncertainties in the determining of the amount of crack reinforcement, especially for structures exposed to pure tension. Cracking caused during the time of dehydration in concrete slabs is the most common defect according to statistics made by CBI[1], which provides numbers as high as 35 % of all the defects caused on slabs are generated by cracks. Comparisons between Sweden's former national standard BBK 04, Building Regulations for concrete structures due to restrained forces of shrinkage, and the current European standard Eurocode 2 are carried out through theoretical studies and concludes with several examples of calculations. Rigorous calculations of both standards, BBK 04 and Eurocode 2 with application of the national annex in Sweden and Denmark are performed.

Resistensbestämning på kliniska laboratorier utförs huvudsakligen med lappdiffusion eller Minimum Inhibiting Concentration (MIC)-bestämning med gradienttester. Infektioner orsakade av ESBL-producerande organismer kan behandlas med ?-laktamantibiotika kombinerat med en ?-laktamasinhibitor.

Tussilago farfara, coltsfoot, is a troublesome perennial weed with deep lying rhizome, which can vegetatively generate new plants. The mechanical control of coltsfoot that is used today, "starvation", which consists of several cultivations of the soil, which fragmentises the rhizome. This results in production of new shoots, which leads to depletion of nutrient resources; as long the new plant is not allowed to establish. However, very little research has been done to investigate how the starving technique affects the regenerative ability of coltsfoot. The purpose of this experiment with coltsfoot was to investigate how fragmentation and burial depths affect the time of emergence, number of emerged shoots per rhizome fragment, number of shoots per node, and if the germination ability within nodes changes during the experiment.

Detta arbete handlar mycket om att identifiera och eliminera slöseri i olika former. Väntan i produktionen är en form av slöseri och kan till exempel uppkomma när personalen inte kan arbeta på grund av materialbrist eller att de letar verktyg eller delar. En annan form av slöseri är att producera eller korrigera defekta enheter.För att minimera dessa former av slöseri krävs förutsättningar för en god informationsstruktur med en väl fungerande kommunikation och dokumentation. Dessa förutsättningar kan erhållas genom standardiserade arbetssätt.

AbstractConcrete foundation slabs are usually exposed to unilateral drying during the curing process. The unilateral drying causes an axial shrinkage and a concave curvature of the construction. The curvature results from the fact that the upper part of the slab is drying and shrinking faster than the lower part. This is called gradient shrinkage.A problem occurs when the slab is considered fully restrained by adjoining structural parts. The deformations caused by axial contraction due to the constant part of the shrinkage and the curvature caused by gradient shrinkage of the slab are then prevented by the fact that the slab is fully restrained.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka om de privata aktiebolagen har valt att lösgöra eller behålla sitt aktiekapital efter denna nya regel och varför. Dessutom ämnar studien att undersöka om det finns skillnader mellan de som väljer att minska eller att behålla sitt aktiekapital avseende bransch, ålder och omsättning. Studien baseras på en enkätundersökning som innefattar 212 respondenter. De resultat som denna undersökning kommer fram till är: Att majoriteten av de privata aktiebolagen har valt att behålla sitt aktiekapital.Att anledningen bakom att behålla aktiekapitalet är att bevara företagets kreditvärdighet, att använda aktiekapitalet i verksamheten och för att proceduren med att sänka aktiekapitalet anses vara krångligt och tidskrävande.

Background. Anesthetic-related death in small animal anesthesia is about ten times more common than in human anesthesia. Recent research identifies the early postoperative period as particularly risky and highlights the need for regular and careful monitoring of the veterinary patient during this period. Objective. The aims of this study were to investigate whether there are standard procedures in terms of regulated routine patient observations and record-keeping during the early postoperative period at Swedish veterinary clinics, and if there are any guidelines for monitoring the veterinary patient during recovery. Methods. A small survey including ten Swedish veterinary clinics was carried out as well as a literature review. Results.

ÅF Test Center in Borlänge had a need to expand their capacity for compressive and tensile strength tests. They wanted to do this by using a hydraulic cylinder, which they already possessed, to apply the force with. This required a load receiving structure. The aim of this work was to design and dimensioning a test bench for a cylinder marked NIKE 300 tons. The work would result in a completed design proposal on a test bench which could manage to run the compressive and tensile strength tests of up to 3000 kN.

The purpose of the thesis has been to explore the use of hedge fund styles when constructing portfolios of hedge funds (i.e. funds of hedge funds). The central question is if the use of hedge fund styles can significantly explain and improve risk adjusted returns (characterized by Sharpe ratios). The study has been done in collaboration with Optimized Portfolio Management AB who desire further knowledge and evaluation of hedge fund styles for their fund of hedge funds.To be able to create successful ex ante portfolios we have explored various prediction models for both risk and return. Our findings indicate that return prediction is problematic using simple models such as regression since the risk exposure of the indices appear to change significantly over time.

Tesen är att om användare får ett stöd med kombinationer av ingredienser som passar tillsammans kommer de så småningom att våga experimentera mera med sin matlagning.Flera algoritmer analyserades men algoritmen som implementerats bygger på en viktning av ingredienserna i PlanEatSmiles receptdatabas.
