Utgången kan vara dödlig men framförallt åstadkommer komplikationen ett ökat lidande för patienten. En behandlingsmetod i dag är att applicera ett tättslutande förband och aktivera ett negativt tryck för att på så vis åstadkomma ett undertryck i sårhålan. En metod som förändrat situationen för patienten. Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur omvårdnadsbehovet ser ut, hur metoden negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) påverkar omvårdnaden av patienter med infektion i bröstbenet samt att belysa patientens upplevelse av situationen.

We wanted to explore the possibilities of trying to create an artefact that the audience would consider possess emotional states and have a life of its own. TaS is a interactive chair that functions as a social entity. The idea is to try and enhance the bond between human and artefact, based upon the emotional connection. The media arena is becoming more and more crowded by various brands and different commercial messages. At the same time, consumers learn how to screen marketing communication and their cognitive ad filters enable them to avoid message elaboration. Thus, new thinking and new communication executions are required in order to surprise the consumers and break through the clutter. In the present study, we have investigated how the choice of media affects attention, memory and several communication effects that the ad can generate in the short as well as in the long term. The study is conducted on a well-known brand within a low-involvement product category.

This paper will portray the differences and similarities that exist between students whoattended the Swedish School of Library and Information Science in Borås.The study is based upon quantitative information gathered from a survey which wasdistributed to first-year students in Borås in the auturnn term 1994. A total of 77 studentsresponded to the survey.We also do a comparative study of the students at all the library programs in Sweden.This is partially based on the findings by a thesis prior to this one by the authorsSvalstedt and Österdahl.We found that the students in Borås differ mainly in their personal histories and backgrounds.When it comes to their attitudes towards the profession and educationalmatters they are similar. Further we found the same to be tme in our comparison of thelibrary programs in total..

Besvär från ländryggen är vanligt förekommande hos patienter inom hälso- och sjukvård. På senare år har metoder från psykiatrin influerat behandlingsarsenalen i den sjukgymnastiska verksamheten, en sådan metod är Basal Kroppskännedom (BK). Syftet med studien var att undersöka kroniska ländryggspatienters upplevelser av BK som behandlingsmetod samt sjukgymnasters erfarenheter av metoden. Tre patienter och två sjukgymnaster i åldrarna 35 till 60 år intervjuades. En kvalitativ innehållsanalys användes som metod för att ta del av de intervjuades tankar och erfarenheter kring BK.

The purpose of the study was to describe the nurse´s role and experiences aroundpreparation of children in front of peripheral venous catheter (PVC) placement andblood draw. The study used a descriptive design with qualitative approach and wasperformed on a pediatric clinic in Sweden. Semi-structured interviews were performedwith seven nurses of whom the first was a pilot interview, which was included in theresult. The recruitment of nurses was made by a purposeful sampling, maximumvariation sampling, with help of the quality coordinator of the pediatric clinic. Thecollected data was analyzed with the manifest qualitative content method.

By conducting a text analysis this study analyzes possible similarities in the portrayal of story characters between historical Norse myths and contemporary film productions. The chosen historical texts are two stories from Norse mythology which render a myth about Thor and a giant named Hrunge as well as the myth Trymskvädet. The selected movies are two of the comic company Marvel?s productions about super heroes ? Thor and The Avengers. Different categories that this study compares are how the characters are defined by their possessions or artefacts, the actions and the choices which the characters make, and also how their relations, roles and origins are being portrayed.

Metakognitiva processer och förmågor innefattar bland annat människans förmåga att reflektera över sin egen kunskapsnivå och minneskapacitet, och att utifrån detta till exempel kunna reglera tid och inlärningsstrategier vid inlärningssituationer. Kännetecknande för en person som räknas till att vara expert inom en viss domän är bland annat att denne anses kunna övervaka sin kunskapsnivå på ett korrekt sätt. Denna studie undersöker om personer med stor domänkunskap uppvisar en större förmåga till metakognitiv övervakning än vad personer med sämre domänkunskap gör. Aktuell kunskapsdomän i denna studie är deklarativ kunskap kring fotboll, och fotbollsspelare och ledare rekryterades som försöksdeltagare. Förmågan till metakognitiv övervakning mättes med hjälp av mätteknikerna Assessment of Cognitive Monitoring Effectiveness (ACME) och Metacognitive Knowledge Monitoring Assessment (KMA), där försöksdeltagarna i samband med att ett kunskapstest genomförs får avgöra vilka frågor de tror sig kunna eller inte kunna svaret på.

The main object for this thesis is to study how students in library and information science at Högskolan i Borås search and valuate documents in the process of writing a paper. The study is based on a series of interviews with 12 students. Our methodology is also based on studies of their final product. The goal of the study was to map out how the students make their decisions during their search process. We studied the students use of search words, relevance judgements and how their need for information changed trough out the writing of their paper.

During the last decade a new technique in animal breeding has developed called genomic selection. It is based on estimations of the effect from genetic markers on traits that are calculated in a reference population. By genotyping individuals, genomic breeding values can then be estimated without phenotypic observations. The aim of this essay is to investigate the response of genomic selection on breeding schemes for dairy cattle. The accuracy of the genomic breeding values is affected by the proportion of observations included in the validation set and how often the equation for estimating breeding values is reevaluated.

SammanfattningLångvarig smärta orsakar stort lidande för individen och belastar samhället ekonomiskt. Syftet med denna uppsats var att undersöka om en exponering in vivo-behandling inspirerad av Dialektisk beteendeterapi (DBT) för människor med långvarig ländryggssmärta var görbar samt om behandlingen gav effekt på smärtrelaterad problematik. Designen var en single case experimental design vilket är en beprövad design för att testa nya terapimetoder. Studien bestod av sex deltagare, alla med hög grad av smärtrelaterade katastroftankar, något som litteraturen visat predicera sämre behandlingsutfall. Behandlingen var DBT-inspirerad och indelad i tre faser; en första valideringsfas, en andra färdighetsfas och en tredje exponeringsfas.

Bakgrund: Reumatoid atrit (RA) är en av de mest kända reumatiska sjukdomarna och kan beskrivas som en kronisk, systemisk, inflammatorisk sjukdom. Sjukdomen drabbar ca 1 % av befolkningen. Fysiologiska och anatomiska störningar som kan drabba personer med RA är rörelse- och belastningssmärta, nedsatt rörlighet, leddeformitet, nedsatt muskelfunktion och nedsatt kondition. Syfte: Att undersöka vilka metoder för, och vilka effekter av, fysisk träning som fanns dokumenterade i vetenskaplig litteratur för personer med reumatoid artrit. Metod: En datasökning gjordes på databaserna PubMed, SweMed + och Cochrane.

Syftet med studien var att beskriva arbetsterapeuters erfarenheter av den professionella rollen i ett multidisciplinärt team inom psykiatrins ätstörningsenhet. Inklusionskriterierna för undersökningsgruppen var legitimerade arbetsterapeuter, med minst ett års erfarenhet inom psykiatrins ätstörningsenhet. Undersökningsgruppen bestod av tio arbetsterapeuter med vid geografisk spridning över Sverige. Studien genomfördes via telefonintervjuer och intervjuutskrifterna analyserades med inspiration av en kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Analysen resulterade i fyra kategorier: ?Betydelsen av arbetsterapeutens roll i teamet?, ?Att erhålla stöd från teamets representanter?, ?Otydliga professionella roller i teamet? och ?Att sträva mot samma mål?.

This two year masters thesis is written in the scientific field of library- and information science. The purpose of the study is to investigate the collaboration between teachers and librarians in different types of school library organisations. Two school libraries with only the school as a target group, two integrated public- and school libraries, one school library division and one public library that provides the school with school library services has been studied. The study takes place in Uppland.The theoretical framework used is based on Montiel-Overall and her four models of collaboration: coordina-tion, cooperation, integrated instruction and integrated curriculum. The first research question focuses on the col-laboration between teachers and librarians based on each of the TLC-models.
