Dagens grafikkort är uppbyggda av kraftfulla multiprocessorer som gör dom ypperliga för att hantera parallelliserbara problem som skulle ta lång tid att utföra på en vanlig processor, så som exempelvis level-of-detail eller raytracing.Denna rapport presenterar en parallelliserbar level-of-detail algoritm för terränghöjdkartor samt implementerar denna för användning på grafikkort användande Nvidias CUDA API. Algoritmen delar upp den totala höjdkartan i sektioner som ytterligare delas upp i mindre block som beräknas parallellt på grafikkortet. Algoritmen räknar ut vertexpositioner, normaler och texturkoordinater för vardera block och skickar datan till applikationen som skapar vertex och indexbuffertar och renderar sektionerna. Implementationens prestanda och förmåga att reducera trianglar analyseras med två olika sorters culling-metoder; en metod som gallrar trianglar på sektionsnivå och en metod som gallrar på blocknivå.Resultaten visar att det är mycket fördelaktigt att låta grafikkortet hantera level-of-detail beräkningar på detta vis även om minneskopiering över grafikkortsbussen är ett problem, då det tar upp ungefär åttiofem procent av den totala tiden för att hantera en sektion. Beräkningarna i sig tar väldigt lite tid och det finns gott om utrymme för utveckling för att uppnå en så bra fördelningen av trianglar över terrängområdet som möjligt..

RFID har sedan 80-talet vuxit fram inom industri- och transport-branschen som ett sätt att under-lätta spårning av tillgångar och övervakning av informationsflöden genom logistikkedjan. Tek-nologin har idag många olika applikationsområden och används inom en mängd olika verksam-heter. Item-level Tagging (ILT) är ett sätt att utnyttja tekniken genom att märka enskilda varor för att på så sätt ge dem unika identiteter, vilket erbjuder enorm potential inom detaljhandel. Givet potentialen med tekniken vill vi med vår studie undersöka vilka förutsättningar som kommer att krävas för en ökad användning av ILT och RFID inom detaljhandeln. Detta mål uppnås genom att undersöka de barriärer som tidigare har hindrat en ökad användning samt hur dessa barriärer uppfattas i dagsläget.

The aim of this study was to examine if transformational leadership, transactional leadership, gender, educational level, income and age predict work motivation, referring to Herzberg?s motivation-hygiene theory. According to past research the factors above increase work motivation. The study was brought about with a survey based on the Multi Factor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ-5X), Herzberg?s motivation-hygiene theory and demographic items.

The aim of this Masters thesis is, with an exploratory stand, to examine the thoughts regarding gender perspective at childrens library service that are expressed from childrens librarians as well as the staff in administrative management. The purpose of the study is to generate ideas for further research and discussion regarding a gender perspective on the childrens library service. A total of eight interviews have been carried out. Three persons at the administrative level and five childrens librarians were interviewed. We also have examined if a gender perspective is expressed in the control documents, from international level to a local level, which the libraries could use when developing and planning their work.

Within the political science literature that deals with the implementation process a central part has long been what is sometimes called the implementation deficit. The county of Dalarna is at present carrying through a process of digitalization where traditional x-ray film is being replaced with digital detectors. Earlier used methods for dose optimization turned out not being sufficient. This report presents a method to harmonize dose levels between x- ray sites equipped with Fujifilm imaging plate systems. An exposure index, S, related to the dose level of the examination is computed to every x-ray image. S turned out to be inversely proportional to the detector dose used at the examination.

We conducted 10 semi-structured interviews with first line managers in Swedish public healthcare organizations. A result is reached by a thematically constructed analysis were citations are presented and analyzed. Result & Conclusions: The study shows through the model that has been used that first line managers are highly affected by administrative tasks that can be linked to New Public Management. The participant managers see these related tasks as important for the organizations and natural in their profession. Contribution of the thesis: The study contributes with an increased understanding of the managing of first line managers and how it is affected by New Public Management related administration through a perspective that is lacking in previous research. This Master?s thesis examines library courses, a relatively new form of user education. Our focus is on the pedagogical point-of-views reflected in the text in these library courses. The primary purpose of the study is to analyze the pedagogical discourse displayed in the library courses to determine if the perspective is behavioural, cognitive, constructive or socio cultural. We are investigating if the pedagogical discourse differs from course to course, and if so, how are they different? In addition we aim to find out how the pedagogical discourse in the library courses relates to university websites and governmental and legal texts, at the discursive and social practice level.
