This essay examines an excerpt of the wide range of animated films that our children has access to in Sweden today.It takes up questions about what kind of messages the films are delivering, if there are certain patterns that are being followed, differences between the films relating to the cultures where they?re from, but above all, what the hero is about and what kind of shape he or she assumes. The film analyses that are being made are anchored in two theoretical investigations; one about how children are influenced by-, and how they use, the stories that are being told in films to develop their own identity. Operators and Internet service providers invest in broadband to be able to deliver new services that require higher data transmission rate. A way to make this possible is to use ADSL, Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line, as the access technology. To be able to handle this technology, the service providers should do a pre-qualification. Methods and tools are needed to analyze the local copper lines and decide if these qualify for ADSL with respect to service availability and possible bandwidth through the lines. This report brings up some methods for pre-qualification of ADSL, the important quality parameters and how to gather them from the available services today.

My thesis is a combination of theory and practice, where theory is meant to create a context and a background for my interpretation proposal. I wanted to ?access? the ideas that are always in the background of the reasoning which underlies both planning in a larger scale, and the design of a place. I wanted to make a ?work of ideas.? In the process of shaping the proposal, I wanted to be deleted from the site itself.

På uppdrag av CWR Engineering AB har en undersökning utförts över huruvida det är möjligt att skapa ett verktyg som kan hjälpa den mekaniska konstruktören inom processindustrin att höja kvalitetssäkringen och effektiviteten i sitt arbete med utrustningsritningar. Arbetet i utvecklingsprocessen i processindustrin strävar mot en tvärfunktionalitet. All konstruktion grundas i Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) där processen för exempelvis en kemikaliefabrik beskrivs i 2D-format med rörledningar, utrustningar och instrument specificerat till sort, men inte position. Dessa utrustningar ska sedan beskrivas detaljerat i en 2D-ritning. 2D-ritningen är i sin tur underlag för modellering av utrustningen i 3D.

The purpose of this study was to examine how teachers act when it comes to play with constructions in preschool. The purpose was also to find out what kind of material the children have to work with and what they do with the things that the children made. The study was based on qualitative semi-structured interviews. Semi-structured interviews was choosen  to get out as much information as possible, with open questions in a semi-structured interview you can get the information that is relevant for the study. The results show that there are different kind of material available in preschool, but knowledge of the subject is missing and demanded by teachers. The material are pretty similar, some of the teachers use material from the forest while others don?t.

Report writers (sv rapporteringsverktyg) används för att skapa och hantera databasbaserade rapporter. Detta examensarbete handlar om Reporting Services, ett helt nytt rapporteringsverktyg från Microsoft. Syftet med examensarbetet var att utvärdera Reporting Services för att se vad verktyget har att erbjuda i förhållande till rapporteringsverktyg från andra tillverkare. En jämförelse mellan Reporting Services och rapporteringsverktyg från tre andra betydande tillverkare har gjorts. En djupare utvärdering av Reporting Services, där arkitektur, funktionalitet och andra egenskaper gåtts igenom grundligt, har också genomförts.

Fortum has in a pilot project installed metering equipment with wireless communication in secondary substations in Stockholm. So far, the collected data are used only in specific projects.This master thesis was carried out at Fortum Distribution AB in Stockholm during 2013. The purpose of this study is to simplify and enhance the use of data in for example network planning process, by giving suggestions on how data can be managed and giving examples of analyzes that collected data can be used for.The electricity meter which Fortum has installed is a EDMI-Mk10A which is set to measure max/average/min values with a one hour time resolution of the following parameters: voltage (per phase), current (per phase) andactive power and active and reactive energy.In order to analyze the collected data an analysis tool is required. During this thesis two customized tools in Microsoft Excel have been developed, one for sorting data and one for analyzing.One aim of the thesis is to show examples of what collected measurement data can be used for. This work shows an example of analysis of active power, power factor, voltage, occurrence of interrupts and the relationship between outdoor temperature and power.This master thesis has among others resulted in the following advice: Expand the number of secondary substations with measuring equipment.

India is the country with the highest prevalence of rabies in the world, with about 20?000 human deaths occurring every year. The country also has a heavy burden of free roaming dogs, mainly because of the high amount of edible waste in the streets, which are the main hosts for the disease. Therefore to truly extinguish rabies, the main focus should be on the dogs, both stray dogs and owned. One method is to vaccinate all dogs against rabies.

De senaste åren har intresset för vindkraftsetableringar ökat i Västerbotten. Det finns generellt goda vindresurser samtidigt som det är glest befolkat. På uppdrag av Balticgruppen utreder Apoidea möjligheten att etablera en vindkraftspark med ca 20 vindkraftverk nordväst om Nordmaling. För att försäkra sig om vindförhållanden på platsen har vindmätningar gjorts under ca. ett och ett halvt års tid.

This study aims to investigate how and why teachers use social media to reach their students, and how they handle different levels of computer literacy among students.The purpose of this study is to investigate the experience of teachers using social media in their teaching. I have done interviews with two teachers, who use social media in different ways. One of the teachers makes her students publish their work on the Internet on wiki-spaces, and the other one use Facebook for discussions and teamwork. This report uses the pedagogy theories laid forth by Vygotskij as a vantage point to analyze the answers from the teachers. I have also looked at some of the published student texts on the Internet.This study concludes there are students who don?t have access to computers and Internet at home.

Denna rapport är resultatet av kursen Examensarbete i Informatik på Högskolan Dalarna. Examensarbetet är uppdelat i två delar. Ena delen har som syfte att ge en förstagångsanvändare en introduktion i Mobile.NET. Här beskrivs även vissa skillnader mot traditionell ASP. Andra delen, som uppfyller målet har varit att utveckla en tjänst som gör det möjligt att spela in tv-program på en dator från olika mobila enheter samt pc.

Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att anpassa ett existerande webbaserat administrativt system, så det fungerar med flera olika webbläsare. Fokus ligger på testningen av det befintliga systemet och de testmetoder som används för att få en så bra bild som möjligt på de ändringar som behöver göras. Efter att ha läst uppsatsen så ska läsaren kunna göra en uppskattning på hur lång tid de skulle kunna ta att göra ett liknande arbete. Uppdragsgivaren har kravet att webbapplikationen ska fungera med Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox och Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE). Uppsatsen tar upp de mjukvaruverktyg som är relevanta för examensarbetet och vilka tekniker som har använts för att att lösa de problem som har uppstått.

2004, the SSR, Akademikerförbundet, made a study on the threats and violence as a social secretary in the municipal social services are exposed in their occupation of the "social secretary of threats and violence at work" (T-110192), conducted by Temo ab. We have chosen to use the study on a smaller scale and then made contact with five municipalities in the middle of Sweden to investigate social secretaries experiences of threats and violence. Using the cross-sectional design and a convenience sample, we have gained access to data from 56 people. From a sociological perspective, we have chosen to use Norbert Elias theory of universal configuration and interdependence, and Michel Foucault?s theories concerning power search explanation for the existence of threats and violent situations in the contact between social workers and their clients..

I denna studie, som bedrivits på Landstinget Dalarna, har kommunikationssystemet Microsoft Lync studerats. Lync består av kommunikationsmodulerna chatt, video- och telefonkonferens samt dela dokument. Syftet med denna rapport är att förklara hur utbildning kan påverka människors acceptans för ett kommunikationssystem samt vilka orsaker som kan finnas för att det inte används. För att kunna besvara studiens syfte användes ett kvasiexperiment som genomfördes genom två intervjuomgångar och en utbildning mellan dessa intervjuomgångar. Utifrån intervjuomgångarna kunde slutsatser dras om hur utbildningen hade påverkat acceptansen för kommunikationssystemet Lync.
