Idag är antibiotikaresistens ett allvarligt problem. En tillfällig lösning på problemet är att utnyttja synergieffekter som kan uppstå mellan olika typer av antibiotika. Det innebär att antibiotika skulle kunna ha effekt mot bakterier som har utvecklat resistens.I denna rapport har flera olika metoder, för att mäta bakterietillväxt, utvärderats. Dessa metoder indikerar om antibiotikakombinationerna har en effekt. Däribland har både kommersiella och nyligen publicerade metoder undersökts.

In Sweden there is an integration policy and a policy for national minorities. The integration policy aims to integrate newly arrived immigrants (nyanlända invandrare), whereas the minority policy aims to maintain and strengthen the rights of the national minorities. The national minorities are though, at times, included into the integration policy, even though they hold a minority status in Sweden. This paper aims to, through discourse analysis, investigate the research question: ?how is the content of integration referred to, when it is related to immigrants, contra when it is related to national minorities?.

Syftet med denna uppsats var att beskriva och analysera projektcontrollerns roll inom de projektintensiva enheterna FACTS och Substations på ABB AB. Studien bygger på tre personliga intervjuer utförda med projektcontrollers samt sex platsannonser som analyserats. Teorin består av två delar, dels projektaspekten och dels controlleraspekten. Första delen behandlar vad ett projekt är och vad det innebär att jobb i projektform. Andra delen, controlleraspekten, handlar om controllers ursprung kontra dagens roll och dess arbetsuppgifter.

IASB is currently working with the replacement of IAS 39 Financial Instruments: Recognition and Measurement. The new standard IFRS 9 Financial Instruments is said to be based on principles as opposed to the more rules-based IAS 39. This thesis examines the third phase of the project regarding micro hedge accounting. The expressed goal from IASB is to provide more useful hedge accounting information by reducing complexity of the standard. To examine the potential effects of the transition from the rules based IAS 39 to the more principles based IFRS 9, we have performed a case study on a major Swedish bank.

This masters thesis concerns a modeling project performed at Volvo Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. The main purpose of the project has been to develop a physical model of the climate in construction vehicles that later on can be used in the development of an electronic climate controller. The focus of the work has been on one type of wheel loader and one type of excavator. The temperature inside the compartment has been set equal to the notion climate. With physical theories about air flow and heat transfer in respect, relations between the components in the climate unit and the compartment has been calculated.

I dagens platsannonser frågas det ofta efter controllers, men få vet egentligen vad yrket innebär eftersom rollen skiljer sig från arbetsplats till arbetsplats. Vi ville studera detta diffusa begrepp för att få en större klarhet i vad titeln innebär och vilka arbetsuppgifter som är karakteristiska controlleruppgifter. Syftet med uppsatsen är att beskriva vilka arbetsuppgifter som har störst betydelse i olika organisationer. Utifrån tidigare forskning har vi skapat en modell som visar en uppdelning mellan olika organisationsformer och vilken/vilka av controllerns funktioner som blir extra betonad i de olika.Vi har gjort en undersökning omfattande 30 telefonintervjuer med controllers eller personer med motsvarande arbetsuppgifter. Intervjuerna har utgått från en intervjuguide med både öppna och slutna frågor.

Världen blir mer och mer datoriserad, detta gäller inte minst olika typer av fordon. Datorerna i fordonen blir allt mer avancerade. Detta har lett till att de verktyg som används för utveckling av dessa datorer inte längre klarar av att hantera de allt större datamängderna som genereras. För att råda bot på detta valde BAE Systems att implementera ett nytt protokoll för kommunikation med datorerna i fordonen, nämligen XCP (Universal Calibration Protocol). Genom att implementera XCP över Ethernet går det att överföra betydligt större datamängder än tidigare, då man använde CCP (CAN Calibration Protocol), som använder sig av CAN bussen (Controller Calibration Protocol) istället för Ethernet.

The ability to tackle NP-hard problems has been greatly extended by the introduction of Metaheuristics (see Blum & Roli (2003)) for a summary of most Metaheuristics, general problem-independent optimisation algorithms extending the hill-climbing local search approach to escape local minima. One of these algorithms is Iterated Local Search (ILS) (Lourenco et al., 2002; Stützle, 1999a, p. 25ff), a recent easy to implement but powerful algorithm with results comparable or superior to other state-of-the-art methods for many combinatorial optimisation problems, among them the Traveling Salesman (TSP) and Quadratic Assignment Problem (QAP). ILS iteratively samples local minima by modifying the current local minimum and restartinga local search porcedure on this modified solution. This thesis will show how ILS can be implemented for MSA.

This is an analysis of how the Swedish newspapers Dagens Nyheter and Aftonbladet and the English newspapers The Independent and The Guardian reported about the sexual molestation and rape charges that were alleged against the Wikileaks founder Julian Assange in August 2010. Through a critical discourse analysis, a theme- and proposition analysis and a process analysis this paper aims to investigate how the above mentioned newspapers create reality in their articles. The purpose is to shed light upon with what means the journalists through the inherited structures of the newspaper illustrate actions and events, how they let other people get visible in the text and who is described as responsible for current events.    The results of the analysis shows that Aftonbladet uses a relatively large amount of propositions and speech cues to create an image of the reality that is almost explicitly angled. Dagens Nyheter and The Independent claims a higher degree of objectivity and through micro themes with different perspectives and few explicit statements they create a reality with plenty of room for the reader to make her own conclusions. The Guardian creates an image of the world where the Wikileaks is a great force of democracy and where actions are performed by humans as well as by objects and organizations.   .

Gene technology has become more and more attractive in plant breeding during the last twenty years. This is probably because it can readily improve the existing commercial cultivars that have only one or a few drawbacks by modifying one or a few genes without changing the main genetic constitution. In this regard, gene technology is more effective than conventional breeding.The aim of this project was to analyze the fruit quality of the non-transgenic apple scion ?Jonagold? grafted on non-transgenic and rolB-transgenic apple rootstocks. The rootstocks used were M9-rolB1, M9-rolB2, M26-rolB and non-transgenic controls M9 and M26.

Transdermal drug delivery, besides painfulinjections with syringes, has long been associatedwith small size particle pharmaceuticals, which candiffuse through the skin. This method of drugadministration has only been applicable on a smallnumber of drugs, where active molecules are smalland delivery time should or can be long.Other drug delivery options are oral administrationand injection with hypodermic needles (ordinaryhospital syringes). In oral administration thestomach and liver tend to dissolve the drug and theeffect becomes more difficult to anticipate, anddrug delivery rates difficult to control. Precer Group har en patenterad teknologi för förbränning av fasta bränslen, till exempel pellets eller metallbränslen. Tekniken är användbar till bland annat fordon och nu är deras vision är att skapa en ny typ av miljövänligt och bränslesnålt fordon som drivs av fast bränsle. Det kommer att vara ett lättviktsfordon med seriehybriddrivlina. Drivlinan till fordonet kommer att bestå av Precers förbränningsenhet, en värmemotor, generator, batteri, motor controller och en eller flera elmotorer med tillhörande kraftelektronik.Vi har gjort en studie på vilka typer av elmotorer som kan användas för fordonsdrift och jämfört olika lösningar på vilka motorer och controllers som kan passa till fordonet Precer Group kommer att tillverka. Vi har också gjort en bedömning om det kan vara användbart med regenerativ bromsning i fordonet och på vilka sätt tekniken kan implementeras.Den generator vi anser lämpligast till värmemotorn är en borstlös DC-generator då den har hög toppverkningsgrad och en passande karaktäristik för att användas till värmemotorn.

Glycerol is essential for the lipid metabolism of both plants and animals. Glycerol is formed in the rumen by hydrolysis of lipids from the feed. Glycerol is also a by-product from the production of biodiesel from rapeseed oil and other fat sources. Glycerol might be used as a dietary glucose precursor for dairy cows in similar ways as propylene glycol. Due to increased production of biodiesel more glycerol has been available to a lower price.
