2004, the SSR, Akademikerförbundet, made a study on the threats and violence as a social secretary in the municipal social services are exposed in their occupation of the "social secretary of threats and violence at work" (T-110192), conducted by Temo ab. We have chosen to use the study on a smaller scale and then made contact with five municipalities in the middle of Sweden to investigate social secretaries experiences of threats and violence. Using the cross-sectional design and a convenience sample, we have gained access to data from 56 people. From a sociological perspective, we have chosen to use Norbert Elias theory of universal configuration and interdependence, and Michel Foucault?s theories concerning power search explanation for the existence of threats and violent situations in the contact between social workers and their clients..

Det huvudsakliga syftet med projektet är att belysa utställningen och de strukturer som densamma innefattar. Specifikt för detta projekt är att jag har valt att titta på utställningarna på kulturcentret Astrid Lindgrens Näs. Metoden för projektet innebär att blanda empiri med teori vilket resulterat i att jag dels besökt Astrid Lindgrens Näs samt arbetat med teori som beskriver förhållandet mellan besökare och museum, författare och författarskap. Radioverkets syfte är ett ge en viss insikt i hur arbetet på museet genomförs, på ett praktiskt plan. Projektet visar att konventionerna i museet är närvarande och vad som bibehåller dem är rädslan för att besökarna skall missförstå.

The aim of this studyhas been to capture preschool children's strategies, when they include and exclude each other in play. My aim was also to find out how children choose to integrate into an already existing game. My questions were: What strategies are used by the children at the preschool when they want to exclude or include each other? How to integrate the children when they want to be involved in an ongoing game and how they will be received during the time of play? My theoretical starting points are from Vygotsky's theory of proximal development zone, and Michel Foucault's perspective on power, and also research on the subject.The empirical study was conducted using the observations at two preschools. The children I observed were between four to five years old.The results show that children used different strategies, and when the strategy did not work so the child could switch to another.

I am using a selection of contributions from the gender debate that Lars von Trier´s movie Antichrist caused in Sweden in spring 2009. The focus of the debate was mainly about the way the female actress was displayed. This study is an attempt to develop the discussion about self-injury with the aid of philosophical discussions about understanding. I will present a reading of the discussion between Michel Foucault and Jacques Derrida about reason and madness, and also an interpretation of the Derrida and Hans-Georg Gadamer encounter. These readings focus on the concept of understanding, on the possibility to understand the other and on the possibility to reach out from reason toward the irrational. The project to formulate an ethical approach to self-injury by Nancy Nyquist Potter is then used to bring the question about understanding to life. The purpose of this study has been to look how pedagogic process interacts in horse riding lessons. In order to research this problem I have used an ethnographic approach and during a week I observed ten riding lessons in two separate Riding house in the south of Sweden. In my theoretical frame I have used Michel Foucault ?Discipline and punish? as a toll to make clear how dominance and submission is present and active in the horse riding education. The conclusion shows how dominant power rules by its presence and creates submission, stability and feeling of security. The discipline is used to create a feeling that will bring the riders to new experience and develop their talent.

This essay is about the representation of orthodox Christianity in Swedish educational material. With the help of my analytical approach inspired by Michel Foucault, I have studied material used in school for the subject Religion. I have limited the educational material in two ways. First, the main reason for this is that I am only interested in material written and produced from the year 2010 until today. Secondly, the material I have chosen to focus on is written for the grades 7-9 and for high school.

Syftet med föreliggande studie är att undersöka om elever agerande skiljer sig beroende på vilken miljö de befinner sig i. Åtta elever videoobserverades i två olika miljöer, inne i klassrummet och ute på skolgården, vid totalt två lektionstillfällen. De redskap som användes i analysen var Michel Focaults tankar kring subjektspositioner och makt. Vi kunde i analysen se att skolans makt genom miljön hade stor inverkan på elevernas sociala samspel. Det framkom även att subjektspositionen pojke och flicka spelade en stor betydelse.

Uppsatsen bygger på en kvalitativ studie där vi genomförde sex semistrukturerade intervjuer för att ta reda på om hur presentationen av ens profil, med andra ord statusuppdateringar, bilder och vänner, kan ha en påverkan på arbetslivet men även privatlivet. Som analysredskap använder vi oss av Erving Goffmans dramaturgiska teori, Anthony Giddens struktureringsteori samt Michel Foucaults teori om övervakningssystemet i relation till makt. En kort sammanfattning av det resultat som framkommer i vår studie visar att Facebook från en början besöktes av våra informanter med syfte att komma i kontakt med vänner samt släkt, dock har nätverkstjänsten utvecklats till ett socialt fenomen och vidare blivit en del av informanternas vardag..
