What drove me to write this paper is the will to  examine if there is a philosophically and scientifically viable  alternative foundation for an objective morality other than what we like to refer to as "God". The  American philosopher and neuroscientist Sam Harris presents in his book The Moral Landscape a thesis for an objective morality based on science in which he states that  science can determine human values. The purpose of this paper is to perform a theoretical trial of The Moral Landscape, examining Harris' thesis and it's relations to the philosophical obstacles that stands in its way, these being mainly the famous philosophical principle "Hume's Law" and G.E. Moore's "Naturalistic Fallacy and Open Question Argument" and thus will serve as my main theoretical foundation. The results of my study was not conclusive since Harris in fact doesn't succeed in bridging the gap between facts and values on a scientific ground.

The aim of this thesis is, from a business perspective, to examine how the pharmacy chain Medstop is working with their positioning in order to achieve competitiveness in the re-regulated pharmacy market. This is studied through a theoretical framework that demonstrates five forces that affects the competitiveness in an industry, the five-force model by Michael Porter.The thesis is a qualitative case study where data collection was done through interviews, literature, articles, websites and internal information from Medstop. The data was then complied into the theoretical perspective the authors have chosen for this paper, the five-force model by Michael Porter. This model was chosen because it gives a broad description of the competition a company faces by describing five different forces that affect the competition within a branch. The fact was collected on the basis of the marketing strategy positioning, and the essay is written from a business perspective.Our cunclusions are that the pharmacy chain Medstop are in their initial positioning and has chosen to position itself on the basis of their core values; credibility, safety and security.

I have detected in the horror films that I've seen that when a religious organization is in a horror movie it's the Catholic church that gets to act as church and religion. I have chosen the following problem: How is the Catholic church presented in the horror movies The Exorcist and The Rite, and how can one understand these presentations from a role theoretic perspective?Since role theory has it's background in the world of the theater with it's actors and roles, it came naturally to use role theory, and specifically Goffmans dramatic model. Uppsatsens syfte är undersöka hur herrtidningarna Café, Slitz och Moore skildrar maskuliniteter och vidare problematisera dessa. Detta görs med att titta närmare på begrepp som heteronormativitet och maskuliniteter. Uppsatsen bygger på en innehållsanalys av tre svenska herrtidningar från år 2002-2004. Först diskuteras innehållsanalys med inriktning på kritisk diskursanalys som metod. Sedan finns en genomgång av tidigare feministiska medieanalyser.

Barn som växer upp i stadsmiljöer är hänvisade till stadens parklekar och lekplatser för att leva ut sin lek. Dessa utomhusmiljöer kan se väldigt olika ut. Från ett mer standardiserat uttryck med tydligt definierade och tänkta funktioner, till ett mer naturlikt. Forskning visar på många fördelar med att låta lekmiljön präglas av ett mer naturlikt formspråk kopplat till barnens utveckling. Trots den väletablerade uppfattningen om att leken är värdefull för barnen präglas många lekmiljöer av den prefabricerade utrustningen som i sin statiska utformning begränsar utloppet för de vidlyftigare lekarna. Yrket som landskapsarkitekt, eller planerare av utomhusmiljöer innebär ibland att formge platser för barn. Det är av den anledningen viktigt att förstå barnens behov och betydelsen av att utforma platser så de passar dem så bra som möjligt. Robin Moore, hyllad professor i landskapsarkitektur vid North Carolina State University, har omfattande erfarenheter av barns utemiljöer och ett starkt engagemang i att stärka kopplingen mellan barn och natur.

Based on different integration policies, we aim to examine how five municipalities in Stockholm County are working to promote integration at a local level with focus on voter participation and to some extent, representativeness among foreign-born. Statistics provided by SCB shows that foreign-born tends to vote to a lesser extent than those born in Sweden. Further, we aim to examine the implementation of two policy documents established at a national level concerning integration in contrast to policy documents established at a local level in each different municipality. Further, we aim to examine summaries of actions taken in response to the local integration programs, as well as personal interviews. Each municipality will be considered separately, but we thus seek to make a comparative study.

Syftet med vår studie är att undersöka hur unga män i åldern 16-25 år ser på manlighet ochkvinnlighet. Vår studie bygger på en kvantitativ metod i form aven enkät som metod vilkengranskar en eventuell koppling mellan de populärkulturella tidskrifterna Moore/Slitz, Rocky,övriga serietidningar och Sonic samt övriga specialtidskrifter och unga mäns syn. Enkäternahar delats ut till tre skolor i södra Halland. Utfallet av studien visar på unga mänsschablonmässiga och stereotypa könsbild samt en tydlig koppling mellan läsning av valdtidskrift och synen på manligt och kvinnligt. Undersökningen visar även på ett sambandmellan unga mäns könssyn och samhällets socialiseringsprocess.

Crisis management planning is a relatively new policy area in the European countries. It has materialized since the fall of the iron curtain and because of the increased interest to prevent wide-ranging national emergencies. This is a study about the sound of four saxophonists. The purpose is to define and analyze the sound of three famous saxophonists, each from different epochs in jazz history, and compare them with my own sound. I will try to find out how the three saxophonists have inspired me, and also try to find out if it is possible to hear the three influences in my own sound..
