Corruption is a very broad definition which is not easy to define. It happens due to the phenomenon?s complexity and its many different forms and syndromes. Before fighting corruption it is therefore necessary to find its roots and form. Furthermore, many countries aspire today for a better democracy but find visible barriers on their ways in a form of corruption i.a.

ABSTRACTThe aim of this study is to look into how ex-offenders experience that stigmatization and labeling- processes might affect their possibilities to create an integrated and adapted life in society. It is also of interest to study how and if the interviewees experience their self-image to be affected by these processes. Our research-questions are:-          How do ex-offender males experience stigmatization and labeling-processes to impact their possibilities when trying to re-integrate into society?-          Do ex-offender males experience their self-image being affected by stigmatization and labeling-processes? If so, how are they affected? In order to achieve this we interviewed members of the organization KRIS in Örebro, where we selected males over 23 years of age with a prior prison sentence. The study is based on the labeling-theory of Howard Becker as well as the stigma-theory by Erving Goffman.In the conclusions derived from the results we found that the interviewees experience a more distinct and obvious stigmatization and labeling from authorities such as the police and the legal system, than that from other people in society.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka vad bilderna i en tidning med yngre målgrupp förmedlar för budskap till läsaren. Den tidning som valts till undersökningen är Julia, vars målgrupp är tjejer i åldern 9?14 år.Med utgångspunkt i den övergripande frågeställningen: "Hur ser människorna ut på bilderna i Julia ? och vad förmedlar detta till läsaren?", genomförs en kvantitativ innehållsanalys utifrån 28 variabler. Totalt undersöks 1 245 bilder på människor i nio nummer av Julia från år 2000?2010.Uppsatsen utgår från teorier framförda av bland annat Jostein Gripsrud, Nina Huntemann och Michael Morgan, som avhandlar medias roll i barns skapande av identitet.Undersökningen visar att den typiska tjejen i Julia är ung, icke-blond, har europeiskt utseende, poserar, ler och tittar in i kameran.

This study is a qualitative study based on a constructivist approach. Meanwhile, it draws on an ethnographic approach combined a working memory based on memories in various events that took place three years in a former student in the program for sociology and social development. Mainly qualitative interviews are essential for the empirical material analyzed. The study is based on interviews of five college students with an ethnic origin other than swedish at Halmstad University, four women and one man. The aim is to look at how college students with an ethnic origin other than swedish relate to the representations of ethnicity.

Syftet med arbetet Sann på Scen var att undersöka och jämföra hur två olika teatertekniker kan fungera i det förberedande arbetet inför två konserter. Jag valde att som konstnärlig del göra två minikonserter, vardera med tre sånger. Den första konserten förberedde jag sceniskt utifrån Michael Tjechovs teknik och den andra utifrån Konstantin Stanislavskijs metod.I beskrivning av arbetets musikaliska och sceniska material har jag redogjort för de delar av Tjechovs och Stanislavskijs tekniker jag valt att arbeta med ? övningar och tankesätt ? samt de sex sånger som ingår i arbetet.I beskrivning av projektets genomförande har jag skildrat hur jag arbetade med sångerna och vilket resultatet blev, vilka övningar som visade sig fungera bra respektive mindre bra, samt reflekterat över vad det kan bero på. Slutsatsen är att det finns mycket att hämta både hos Stanislavskij och Tjechov och att vad som fungerar bäst, är beroende av situation och sångens karaktär.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur anställda i offentlig sektor och chefer i privat sektor uppfattar sitt handlingsutrymme. Jag vill även undersöka om det fanns skillnader respektive likheter i verksamheterna. Och om det finns skillnader i handlingsutrymmet mellan anställda och cheferna. För att ta reda på detta använder jag mig av fem stycken semi-strukturerade intervjuer. The purpose of this study was to understand how social workers experienced working with Addiction Severity Index (ASI) in relation to the goal set by the National Board of Health and Welfare. The method is spread nationwide and therefore it is of great importance to examine how the social workers themselves experience the demands and the resources surrounding ASI. We choose to do a qualitative study interviewing eight social workers at six different occasions. The result was analyzed using Max Weber?s ideal type bureaucracy and Michael Lipsky?s thesis on street-level bureaucrats.

A decision has been made that the Swedish and the Finnish Navy will expand their cooperation by creating the ?Swedish-Finnish Naval Task Group? (SFNTG).Based on Michael Codner?s theory of interoperability, this essay?s aim is to investigate if the Swedish and the Finnish currently are interoperable with each other, due to their military strategic concepts.According to Codner, similarities between the cooperating nation?s military strategic concepts are required in order to reach a high degree of interoperability. This essay will analyze and compare Sweden and Finland?s military strategic concepts, based on three categories; Global Projection, Territorial Defence and Combat Capability.The conclusion is that there are differences between the Swedish and the Finnish military strategic concepts in every category, of varying degrees. By looking at the results of this investigation, it is clear in what direction the two nations have to adapt their concepts to enable a high degree of interoperability for the future of the SFNTG..

Studien är en kvalitativ forskning där syftet är att undersöka bakomliggande faktorer och motiv till varför vissa unga män faller in i ett kriminellt beteendemönster och upprätthåller detta beteende. De faktorer denna studie undersökt är de sociala faktorer som bland annat är familj och vänner. För att uppnå undersökningens syfte och svara på dess frågeställningar intervjuades 6 unga män i åldrarna 15-25 år som har en kriminell livsstil. This essay contains a comparative analysis of Erik Olin Wrights Marxist class analysis and Michael Hardt and Antonio Negris post-Marxist class analysis as presented in their books ?Empire? and ?Multitude: War and democracy in the age of Empire?. I discuss the shift in analytical focus from state level to global level that Hardt and Negri's analysis represent and the ensuing relevance of this for contemporary class analysis. The essay also address the challenge and implications posed to class analysis by the ever increasing economic globalization, from a material production to an ever growing immaterial service economy and the decrease in state power in controlling capital and labor movement. Syftet med vårt arbete har varit att undersöka hur elever i en femteklass uppfattar och upplever fyra olika lektioner, som vi utformat utifrån fyra av Howard Gardners intelligenser, såsom verbal/ lingvistisk, logisk/ matematisk, visuell/spatial och kroppslig/kinestetisk. I vårt arbete presenterar vi den teoretiska bakgrund och forskning som är relevant för vår undersökning. Vår materialinsamling har skett genom skriftligt besvarade frågor, lektionsobservationer, elevarbeten och elevintervjuer. I arbetets resultatdel har vi sammanställt och analyserat elevernas svar och arbeten, vi har utifrån dessa tolkat hur de har uppfattat respektive upplevt lektionerna. I diskussionen resonerar vi vidare kring våra resultat och analyser. Eleverna som deltagit i vår studie var överlag positiva till alla de olika lektionsmomenten oavsett hur de var utformade. Det de lade störst vikt vid var huruvida lektionerna var varierande eller inte.

The aim of this study was to get a greater comprehension of social welfare secretaries? notion of "good parenting" and furthermore how this is expressed in evaluations of investigations regarding care of children. The empirics in this qualitative study were collected with the help of a vignette containing relevant questions. Moreover interview questions were answered at seven occasions. The interviewees were social welfare secretaries that worked with evaluations of care of children.

Following study is about the anorexic behavior and the pro-ana movement, which is a web-based subculture where the followers of this, stands for anorexia as an identity position and lifestyle, rather than a disease. The purpose of this study was that, from a sociological perspective give possible interpretations of the anorexic behavior, and interpret why some anorexics choose to be a part of and identify oneself with the pro-ana movement. ???This research traces the trajectory of those methods of teaching grammar that five different teachers in Swedish from Stockholm municipality use in their practice. ?Their both constructive and negative attitudes towards grammar were in fokus when looking after the connection between their own experience of learning/teaching native language grammar and the methods that they are actually using in their own classes. I was trying to gain knowledge and achieve the purpose of this research by means of a qualitativ method.

Syfte: I uppsatsen ska vi undersöka hur dagens studenters konsumtionsbeteende ochkonsumtionsbehov ser ut. Uppsatsen kommer även att klargöra hur studenternas ekonomiska situation påverkar detta beteende och behov, samt vilka faktorer som ligger bakom detta. Metod: Uppsatsen har en deduktiv ansats då vår utgångspunkt har varit teorin. Kvantitativ metod används i form utav enkätundersökning genomförd på 323 studenter i syd/sydöstra Sverige. Även en kvalitativ metod har i form av litteraturstudier av teorier samt artiklar hämtade från Internet har genomförts.
