Market analysis for glulam within the Swedish construction sector
Glulam?s position at the Swedish market for building constructions has been established over the past decades. Factors affecting glulam demand are found both in global and national contexts as well in customer attitudes and knowledge of the material. Arguments for environmentally friendly and sustainable construction processes and energy-efficient designs are nowadays common, which is something that should motivate increased usage of wood as a renewable material. For the glulam industry to increase its sales, improve profitability and thereby gain market share in present competitive climate, reliable market information and updated market intelligence is required.

Sustainable development has become more and more important over the past years. The term Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is closely connected to sustainable development and focuses on organizations responsibility towards the society and the environment in which it exists. Companies within the mining industry were among the first to initiate CSR-work due to the fact that they have a great impact at the local community, both socially and environmentally. Today they are still in the forefront of the development of CSR-questions in general, and community involvement and development in particular. Earlier studies made on this area have focused on the strategic level of community involvement and development.
Problematik med målkostnadskalkylering: Hur kan en leverantör påverka processens förutsättningar?
Bakgrund och problem: Målkostnadskalkylering innebär att ett företag samarbetar med sina leverantörer för att tillgodose slutkundens önskemål och för att kontrollera kostnadsnivåerna. I vår uppsats undersöker vi vilka kontextuella faktorer som påverkar leverantörernas möjlig-het till inflytande inom ramen för en målkostnadskalkyleringsprocess samt hur leverantörer själva kan påverka processens förutsättningar.Syfte: Uppsatsens syfte är att skapa en förståelse för den problematik som finns kring vad som avgör hur mycket en leverantör kan påverka målkostnadskalkylering.Metod: Vi har använt kvalitativ metod, och som en del i detta personliga intervjuer, för att kunna få en bra kontakt och för att kunna förstå respondenten. Vid urvalet av företag utgick vi från Volvo Personvagnar och tre av företagets leverantörer, Autoliv AB, Bulten AB och Finnveden Metal Structures AB, som vi har valt ut så att alla inte har samma beroendeställ-ning gentemot Volvo Personvagnar.Resultat och slutsatser: En av de kontextuella faktorer som påverkar leverantörers möjlighet till inflytande inom målkostnadskalkylering är leverantörens beroendeställning till köparen. Ju större beroende, desto mindre går att påverka. En annan faktor som påverkar är typen av komponent som leverantören tillverkar.
Inventering och riskklassning av förorenade områden i Öna och Östnor :
This work consists of a survey and risk classification of eleven metal industries including foundries, finishers and engineering industries in two industrial areas in Mora. The study follows a method called MIFO (Method of Surveying Contaminated Sites) composed by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. In the method assessments of the degree of hazard posed by the pollutants, the level of pollution, the conditions of dispersal, sensitivity and the degree to which the area is worthy to protect are made for each contaminated site (object). The assessment classify the objects into four risk classes in which risk class 1 denotes a very large risk, 2 large risk, 3 moderate risk and risk class 4 little risk. The work of surveying using MIFO is divided into two phases.

Business unit Cylinder at ASSA AB in Eskilstuna are having problem with frictions in their production process. Changes are occurring and older products along with machineries are phased out and transferred to low-cost countries. This opens up possibilities to at a larger extend customize physical flows after production flows. The authors where given the task to analyze the production and find problem areas to improve and to give suggestion on how Business unit Cylinder can work to optimize their production flow.The aim of the thesis work is to come up with suggestions on how to reduce the lead time in production and how the tied up capital can be reduced. In more detail the task included to find problem areas that are counteracting an effective flow, give solutions on new flows for the production of the cylinder core, give suggestions for new stock points for the production and how the production shall be managed and controlled.During the last twelve months ASSA AB has sold over 700 different types of cylinder cores, and the product range is very wide.

A Swedish electronics company wants to make the cooling of one of their electronic components more efficient. They propose that a retrofit liquid cooler is the way to achieve this goal. The current air cooling has high energy cost due to the high amount of power needed to power fans and heat exchangers. Using high volumes of air for cooling also leads to noise pollution. The conversion from air to liquid cooling would possibly make the operation of the electronics more cost efficient and less noisy.The purpose of this project is to theoretically evaluate different concepts of drawing the heat generated by the electronic component in to a fluid, using numerical calculations in Matlab and FEM simulations in ANSYS.

Biogas production through anaerobic digestion is one of those growing energy sources. In Sweden there are over two hundred plants that uses this biological process to break down organic substances while producing carbon dioxide and the energy-rich gas methane.This master?s thesis has focused on development of the mixture of different organic substances that is treated at a specific plant, namely Mosserud biogas plant.

Företaget Combitech AB hade sedan tidigare tittat på att försöka framställa en klädhängare ämnad åt deras konsulter. Den tänkta produkten skall få konsulten att alltid känna samhörighet till Combitech AB då konsulten befinner sig på uppdrag hos kund. Produkten skall fungera som klädhängare, men också som reklampelare för Combitech AB när konsulten är på plats hos en kund. Andra sekundära användningsområden är att klädhängaren utgör en så kallad ?give away? produkt på mässor, arbetsmarknadsdagar etcetera för att göra reklam för företaget.Examensarbetet gick således ut på att ta fram tillverkningsunderlag och prisbild för framställandet av två prototyper av en tänkt klädhängare som motsvarade ovanstående önskemål.Arbetsgången började med en konceptgenerarande fas där ett antal möjliga kandidater togs fram. Dessa koncept förfinades sedan i omgångar där beskrivningen av koncepten förbättrades.

An already proven and accepted method is biogas production from anaerobic digestion at municipal wastewater treatment plants.In the waste water treatment process solid material and dissolved pollutants are separated from the water, forming a sludge. The sludge is separated from the process and stabilized during anaerobic digestion or aerobic aeration. Most often, mesophilic anaerobic digestion is used. Because of degradation by microorganisms, biogas with a high content of methane is formed during the digestion.
