Internet is the future and VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is growing in use. Companies are starting to realise the benefits with VoIP. Skype is the number one soft phone on the market but it doesn't satisfy the needs of companies (e.g. transfer calls, redirects calls and so forth) and leaves therefore a gap. The purpose of this master thesis is to provide Objektor AB (thesis initiator) with tips on how to design a usable soft phone that they know is based on relevant human computer interaction research.The method used in the thesis has been iterative development.

This project was intended to develop and improve my skills as an artist/designer. I have used inspirational sources and followedmy artist?s intuition to create something that is individual and a reflection of myself.My goal was to design 7-10 compositions and apply them to t-shirts and then create a photo arrangement with these t-shirts to make a strong artistic presentation.I chose to apply my images to t-shirts, because I feel that the tshirt is a perfect median to display pieces of art. My process has been very non-linear in nature. Trial and error,experimentation and my gut feeling have strongly influenced the progression of my design process and guided me to new ideas.I feel that with this project I have succeeded in fulfilling my goals to develop and improve my skills as an artist/designer..

The purpose of this thesis is to increase the knowledge about the comprehensibility of the easy-to-read civic information. In the study I present my analysis of the content of four easy-to-read texts from four government authorities. The analysis constitutes the starting point for interviews with the target group ? people with a minor mental retardation ?, but it also reveals some possible difficulties for the intended readers. In the empirical study ten persons from the target group were asked to read a text and the comprehension was tested by oral questions about facts in the text.

Gyms are populated by more and more people and there is an increased interest in wellness and health. However, there is a downside to the culture that people choose to step into. Exercise can go too far and take unhealthy directions. The purpose of this study is to examine how norms are created in the gym culture and how unhealthy behaviour is reproduced inside the walls of the gym. We have also done research about how a local gym identifies and handles deviant behaviour such as the use of doping and eating disorders.

AbstractOne of the most common business models for agriculture is according to Lantbrukarnas Riksförbund (2010) that two or more agricultural companies merge and form a company together. To create strong owners and to be competitive there is a recognized need to create relationships between small firms according to Mazzarol , Mamouni Limnios and Reboud (2013). Oerleman and Assouline (2004) argues that it is possible to achieve success in agriculture by following certain strategic priorities.This paper examines why farmers choose to venture into collaboration and whether cooperation are linked to the strategies of the company. The paper also discusses the pros and cons of partnerships in agriculture. A qualitative comparative research design has been used to answer to the topics and we have interviewed respondents from four different agriculture companies, which have been active in some form of cooperation or collaboration.

Lumilos is a work investigating the possibilities to use light and color in an interactive design context. I have explored different light sources and compared them to each other and given a short description of the history of light and how it has been developed during the industrialization in the western world. I have also investigated what is currently done in the field and summarized that with examples in the categories passive-, colored-, material- and interactive light. The conclusion is that working with interactive color and light is a hard task. There are many different angles to take into account such as personal likings and earlier experiences that is uncontrollable by the designer. Yet there are many possibilities and light is a material that is moldable in many forms. I have put the knowledge about light and color into practice and developed an interactive light wall that is visualizing energy consumption with the use of different colors of light and animations.

Denna rapport presenterar ett examensarbete på kandidatnivå omfattande 15 högskolepoäng, som genomfördes på Högskolan i Halmstad under vårterminen 2013. Examensarbetet avslutar den tre år långa maskiningenjörsutbildningen med inriktning teknisk design. Projektet genomfördes i samarbete med Macro International AB tillsammans med Ballingslöv, och handledaren på företaget var Jörgen Carlsson. Målet med projektet var att utveckla ett produktförslag för ett badrumsskåp av spegeltyp som skulle passa in i Ballingslövs framtida badsortiment. Det slutliga produktförslaget skulle uppfylla krav som ställdes av uppdragsgivaren, främst med avseende på belysning, utformning, funktion och förvaring.

I det här examensarbetet undersöktes hur designprocessen kan se ut när en grupp medelålders människor genom två workshops tar sig an ett designprojekt med hjälp av participatory design i det offentliga rummet. Participatory design innebär en deltagande design där brukaren, alltså den tänkta användaren, är med i hela designprocessen. Jag har utgått från allemansrätten som ram för det offentliga rummet. Jag har använt mig av etnografiskt inspirerad metod och gjort ett kortare fältarbete i en liten stad i Dalarna där jag genomförde designprojektet. Undersökningen utgår från frågeställningen:Hur kan designprocessen se ut när en grupp arbetar kollektivt med det offentliga rummet och allemansrätten som utgångspunk i ett designpedagogiskt projekt? Projektet har sedan dokumenterats med hjälp av foto, film och fältanteckningar.

Denna rapport avhandlar arbetet som lett fram till det slutliga förslaget på formgivning.De problem som arbetet försökt lösa har varit hur vidareutvecklingen av en befintlig produkt kanutföras på ett smidigt och tillfredställande sätt. Att med hjälp av import och inköp av komponenterkunna försöka hitta alternativa designlösningar gentemot befintlig konstruktion.Den befintliga konstruktionen är konstruerad uteslutande utifrån att designen är en produkt avfunktionen. Solö har tagit över projektet från en tidigare konstruktör då maskinens uppfinnare varmissnöjd med hur den byggts. Den tidigare konstruktören har för att lösa vissa funktioner gjortlösningar som inte varit optimala ur ett större perspektiv, montering och kostnad t.ex.Vissa lösningar har enbart tillkommit för att lösa bristfälliga lösningar, andra för att det inte fannsnågot annat att välja på, vilket resulterat i en design som inte varit optimal.Konceptet som presenteras i slutet av denna rapport har haft som utgångspunkt att ge förslag pådesign som kan optimera monteringsarbetet och få till en kompaktare design då den befintligamaskinen består mestadels av tom volym.Fokus har legat på att ha argument för varje beslut och kunna visa på att lösningarna är baserade påverklig fakta snarare än vilda antaganden som är tagna ur luften..

Although English is commonly used in Swedish advertising, little is known about its effects. The purpose of this paper was to investigate how a Swedish or English language choice in product advertisements affects the effectiveness of the ad. Further, a local/global dimension of the advertisement was created to investigate how the results differ for local and global brands. Subsequently, an experiment was conducted where the effect of language choice on several well-established measures of ad effectiveness such as awareness, comprehension of the ad message, credibility, attitude and buying intentions was analyzed. In line with previous research, English in product advertisements is not completely comprehended since English is not the local language in Sweden.

The aim of this study was to examine which norms are applicable and how they are reproduced in two sports organisations. More specifically the aim was to find out how the leaders worked with gender roles and what message the organisations give out to young people. And at the same time, find out if there are similarities and differences between two different organisations, regarding norms and gender roles.  The study was based on observations and interviews. The observations were made during and after training in an ice hockey team and two gymnastic teams for girls nine to thirteen years old. The interviews were conducted with seven leaders and one senior ice-hockey player.

The background for this degree thesis is a need to replace the existing seal used to protect equipment containing secret or sensitive equipment used by Swedish Defence. The target design should satisfy both the need for tamper evidence and reduce Life Cycle Cost. In developing a new design for a seal, additional benefits such as improved logistics support and indication of attack methods such as heat and solvents have been considered.The lack of guiding principles for end users of seals became evident during the interviews. Major concerns for the future are education of users, information about actions if a seal is broken and user liability.The design work was divided into several phases. A feasibility study was performed including investigation of theory of labels, materials and possible technologies.
