The study aims to examine the communication between older immigrants and nurses at several nursing homes.Emphasis has been placed on clarifying both parties? experience of communication regarding the older immigrant?s idiomatic difficulties. The following questions were used in the creation of the study: How does the older immigrant communicate with the personnel at a nursing home? How does the older immigrant enjoy their residence at the nursing home? How do language difficulties influence the older immigrant?s possibility to express their self?In the study eight qualitative interviews were made with four older immigrants who lives in nursing homes and four nurses working in a nursing home. The survey shows that the overall problem in the communication is the older immigrant?s lack of language.

Syftet med föreliggande studie var därför att undersöka sambandet mellan femfaktormodellen av personlighet och utmattningssyndrom bland gymnasieungdomar (N = 119). Utmattningssyndrom delades till dimensionerna fysisk, mental och emotionell trötthet. Korrelationer och multipla regressionsanalyser beräknades.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate how social workers, working in a management position in the health care system, perceive the encounter of the medical and social perspective. With seven qualitative interviews, the study tries to conclude whether or not social workers are accepted at managerial positions within the health care sector. The social worker is, as a manager in health care, a leader but at the same time in a professional alienation from the medical caregivers. Organizations in the health care sector are often multi professional and have their own long standing tradition, history and culture. The results show that the conditions for social workers, working in a management position in health care appear to be agreeable.

The study was conducted in Jönköping County Chamber of fibrillation and is about change and improvement of process modeling technology. The process for treating patients with fibrillation is in the need to evolve and improve. In order to develop the care they needed a current state description which usually is made with the traditional process modeling tool.Many scientists and health professionals is in the opinion that this technology gives a too rigid image to describe the care processes. Background: Children are different and they live under different conditions, but one they have in common - the desire to play. Children's play is important for their health and wellbeing. The aim: was to highlight the knowledge and issues that preschool children's parents have about young children's health and wellbeing, with a focus on physical activity and play, to promote health. A further aim was to highlight the obstacles and opportunities that parents experience regarding physical activity for young children. Material and Methods: The main study two focus group interviews were used with eight parents of children of preschool age.

Background: Breastfeeding frequency decrease in Sweden and infants born preterm is a particularly vulnerable group to not be breastfed according to current recommendations. Mothers of preterm infants have an extra need of support from the health care system. Mothers' self-efficacy in breastfeeding affects the outcome of breastfeeding. Health professionals' attitudes to breastfeeding have an impact on the breast feeding support they provide to the mothers.Aim: To investigate whether an intervention could strengthen self-efficacy in breastfeeding among mothers of premature babies. A further aim was to investigate whether the intervention influenced health professionals' attitudes to breastfeeding.Method/Design: An experimental study with quantitative approach in the form of questionnaire survey was conducted.

Föreliggande studie syftar till att fördjupa förståelsen för den praktiska och mentala förberedelse Försvarsmaktens anställda får inför utlandstjänstgöring och hur den hjälper dem att hantera de olika stressmomenten, samt att bidra med förståelse för hur man kan utveckla denna förberedelse ytterligare. Studien baserades på djupintervjuer med åtta deltagare som tjänstgjort i Afghanistan och analyserades med tematisk analys. Resultatet visade på hur socialt stöd, kamratskap, erfarenhet, mental beredskap, praktisk träning och utbildning gynnar individer i sammanhang med psykologisk stress medan oro för anhöriga och maktlöshet missgynnar, även om det till stor del är individuellt. Detta diskuteras i termer av stress, anpassning, brister, konsekvenser och utvecklingsmöjligheter..

SammanfattningSjälvförsvarsträning i form av Krav Maga anges av många elever ha en stor inverkan på deras liv, genom att öka deras självförtroende, välmående, stresshantering, social nätverk osv. Detta är inget som tidigare har visats vetenskapligt för Krav Maga och vi ville därför mäta 3 olika faktorer, fysisk prestation, mental tuffhet och självskattat hälsotillstånd.Detta genomfördes genom att vi rekryterade en grupp testpersoner vid terminsstart. Vi lyckades få ihop 20 stycken varav 15 genomförde träningen och testerna både före träningsstart och efter 8 veckors träning 2 ggr i veckan. Den fysiska prestationen mättes med 3st styrketester (armböj, knäböj och situps) och 1 konditionstest (Coopers test). Den mentala tuffheten mättes med MTQ48 formuläret och det självskattade hälsotillståndet mättes med EQ5D.Analysen av den insamlade materialet visar att både styrka och kondition ökade hos testpersonerna.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between Health Locus of Control, Exercise habits, Food habits and Self-esteem (Personal self and Physical self) between two groups of student teachers at a university in the south of Sweden. Is health such as exercise, eating and self-esteem something that is controlled by internal or external factors? Student teachers that participated in Physical and Health programme and student teachers that participeted in other programme were investigeted. The participants (N = 160) answered the questionnaire. The Health Locus of Control scale and Tennessee Self-Concept Scale were used.

Background: How a young woman approaches an abortion and how she handles its emotional impact is influenced by many factors. Mixed emotions about terminating a pregnancy are common to women of all backgrounds and circumstances. Aim: To illuminate young women´s experiences of abortions. Method: The study wasbased on literature from online databases and printed materials and involved the analysis of ten articles and one thesis. Result: Women contemplating abortion experience mixed emotions before, during, and after an abortion.

Our study illustrates health communication in order to find out how widespread the knowledge is about osteoporosis and how to reach out with health information to the public. Our essay was conducted through quantitative surveys, which included 402 respondents. This in order to highlight the prevailing uncertainty about the public disorder osteoporosis, which is common in Sweden. We wish to examine trough which channels our respondents choose to collect their health information. The thesis framework includes theories such as McGuire?s ProcessingTheory, Agenda setting, Two-step hypothesis and Diffusion of innovation. Through these theories, we analyzed our empirical data that emerged. The results showed that our respondents had very low knowledge of osteoporosis, although theyshowed interest for health information. The results also showed that respondents were consistent intheir actions regarding which channels they came to turn to. They prefered their health informationfrom news papers and family, friends and work colleagues. When asked where they got their information from, the respondents answered mostly from family, friends and work colleagues, followed closely by newspapers. This shows that respondents are more receptive to informationfrom the channels of their own choice. The results also showed that the propensity to change behavior increases with the age of the respondents..

The purpose of this essay is to examine the everyday beliefs about mental illness surrounding the disease and how these are expressed and affects the sick life and identity. The focus is on the sick perspective, where a concept of norms, normalization and taboo forms a basis in the use of materials, which here consists of qualitative interviews and Internet forums. This is analyzed and then discussed with the help from structuralism and poststructuralism approach, where I mainly refer to the social anthropologist Mary Douglas, ethnologist Lars-Eric Jönsson and philosopher Michael Foucault.
