High demands are set on all equipment used in emergency service work, where small margins can be the distinguishing factor between life and death during a rescue operation. It is important that tools such as ladders quickly and easily can be dismounted from a vehicle and still satisfy the regulatory requirements for securing loads during transport. The existing solution for getting ladders down from the roof of a fire engine requires a large manual effort from the user in an ergonomically unsound posture.In this degree project a new ladder holder is developed with focus on the user to solve the ergonomic problems and at the same time create a more compact design that can be adapted to several different types of ladders. After an initial pre-study with user-interviews and measurement of forces and distances a set of requirements was formulated that came to govern the project's direction. Creative methods were used to generate concepts that improved the function and through design solutions, calculations and testing in CAD a base for manufacturing of a new product was created.The result is a completely new type of ladder holder that minimizes the user's manual effort and simplifies the securing of ladders in the holder.

The author has, with the help of AK Consultancy Indoor Air AB, formed a series of questions regarding moisture problems in buildings and how these are handled in extreme climates with high temperatures and a high relative humidity. Furthermore to analyse and indentify key material that makes a construction safe against moisture problems. Ventilation, AC and the choice of materials have in a later stage of the thesis been investigated to enhance the knowledge of moisture protection. The research for this report includes measurements on existing buildings, calculation models on the building envelope for analyses and the ingoing materials of the envelope. The health aspect of moisture problems related to ?sick building syndrome? has been included and interviews have been conducted to gather relevant information.A study of the American system, ASHRAE, American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers and the standards used in Singapore has been made to highlight the difference.

An open fitting is suitable for persons with sloping hearing loss and relatively good low fre-quency hearing. Sensory neural hearing losses often have this type of configuration. A large ventilation canal gives a greater feeling of comfort and less occlusion. The purpose of this study was to look at the hearing aid benefit of open fitted hearing aids. Self report question-naires were sent out to 102 patients who were given ReSound AIR during the year of 2006 in Uddevalla.

Bakgrund: Sverige har antagit EU´s direktiv angående vibrationsexponering. Därför har Arbetsmiljöverket utformat författningssamlingar; föreskrifter om vibrationer och medicinska kontroller i arbetslivet. Från företagshälsovårdens håll befarades ökad efterfrågan av medicinska kontroller angående vibrationsexponering, men detta tycks ha uteblivit. Syfte: Känner arbetsledare till Arbetsmiljöverkets föreskrifter angående vibrationsexponering? Mäts den dagliga exponeringen? Är föreskrifterna svåra att uppfatta?Metod och undersökt grupp: Enkät med fasta svarsalternativ skickades till 54 arbetsledare, varav 42 svarade.

I detta arbete har energisimuleringsprogrammet IDA ICE utvärderats genom att simuleringar gjorda i detta program jämförts med simuleringar gjorda i CFD-programmet ANSYS Fluent. Modeller i form av ett kvadratiskt kontorsrum med fönster ställdes upp för ett basfall i de båda programmen och parametern operativ temperatur jämfördes. För att se hur förändringar i modellerna påverkade resultatet ställdes ett antal nya fall upp där olika parametrar varierades. Variablerna som en i taget ändrades vid uppställningar av nya simuleringsfall var: rumshöjd, U-värde på fönstret, deplacerande istället för omblandande ventilation, radiator istället för golvvärme, tilluftstemperatur, mätpunktens placering samt hur till-och frånluftsdonen placerades. Resultatet av simuleringarna visade att den operativa temperaturen höll sig på en relativt konstant nivå för de olika fallen i IDA ICE, medan värdet på denna parameter varierade för de olika fallen vid CFD-simuleringarna.

There is two dairy farms in Sweden with ability to be opened on both long sides, one outside Hjo and the other one, Brandstadholm, north of Sjöbo. When there is no measures and results or not enough literature about natural ventilation and especially on this kind of air inlet, makes my tests very interesting not only on Alnarp, but among other companies. I would like to find out if there is any air movements direct on the cows, how high/low temperature, air humidity, light intensity and noise standard inside the barn. Does Brandstadholm fulfil the rules and regulations when it comes to climate inside the barn? Could this system become the new dairy barn instead of the conventional barns in Sweden? I am going to focus on the animals environment, after all they are the one who is going to spend the most of the time in the barn. I used five electrical loggers distributed inside the barn to measure the temperature and one of the loggers measured the air humidity, every 15th minute. One logger were placed on the outside which measured both temperature and air humidity.

This economic loss depends on the pigs which are discarded at slaughter because of tail biting. Tail biting can be separated into two stages, "pre-injury" and "injury". The aim of this study is to investigate if tail biting depends on environment or genetic background.A lot of research on the environments effects on the behaviour of pigs but not so much on the genetic effects has been performed. The frequency of tail biting in pig farms influence among others of environment enrichment, ventilation, gender and breed of the pig.

This report is a result of a bachelor thesis at the school of Architecture and the Built environment (corresponding to 15 HP) and is written during spring 2012 at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. The Bachelor's essay is based on the design and dimensioning of a house which is located at a predetermined site in Malmo, Sweden.The idea is to construct a house that is appropriate to use for an average Swedish family of four family members. The house is designed in a modern way with respect to ease of access and disabled facilities. The installation that have been considered are heating, ventilation, sanitation and electricity. Construction calculations and material selection are also discussed.Furthermore, a study about photovoltaic cells has been done.

Syfte: Syftet är att undersöka och utreda resultatet av en energieffektivisering i en befintlig kontorsbyggnad samt att ta reda på hur brukarna upplever inomhusmiljön. Bakgrund: En byggnad, benämnd LU1, på Umeå universitet har i samband med en renovering genomgått en rad energieffektiviserande åtgärder. Ett nytt närvaro- och tryckstyrt luftbehandlingssystem som regleras ända ned på rumsnivå har installerats, en rad styr- och reglertekniska funktioner har implementerats men även en rad andra övriga åtgärder har vidtagits.

This study is a degree project in environmental engineering at Mälardalens university. Its purpose has been to perform a risk assessment on whether or not any contaminations are present in the soil at two properties in Köping. The assessment was to be done accordingly to a method that has been set up by The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Naturvårdsverket). The method for investigation of contaminated sites is called MIFO. MIFO consists of two stages.

Since energy simulations are used to verify that projected residential buildings will reach the current energy requirements it is important that the results are reliable.This report investigates the extent of uncertainty in energy simulations, estimates the causes of the uncertainty and its economic and environmental consequences.The method used in this report is based on three validation methods; empirical validation, analytical validation and comparative validation. The analysis was carried out for five multi-family dwellings in Uppsala with installed meters for energy measurements. One of these objects, Klockarlunden, was studied in more detail than the others.The results show that the deviations are between 10 and 29% for the studied objects, which means that the uncertainty is estimated to be at least 29%. All simulations underestimate the buildings need of energy. The simulation for Klockarlunden can predict the energy consumption to be within the range of 46-98 kWh/m2year with 90% confidence level based on the current uncertainty.

ROT är förkortning till ? Reparation, Ombyggnader och Tillbyggnader ? som ä avseddför skatteavdrag för vidtagna energibesparande åtgärder inom byggnadsektorn. Syftetmed det här examensarbetet är att undersöka olika slags besparingar med hänsyn tilldagens befintliga flerbostadshus omständigheter. Byggnadens energianvändning skullegenerellt kunna minskas genom att förbättra klimatskal som exempelvisbyggnadstekniska åtgärder och utnyttja nya installationstekniska åtgärder bl.a. som FTXventilation system eller värmepumpar.Med hjälp av IDA ICE energisimuleringsprogram ska två flerbostadshusmodeller byggas.Resultatet från energiberäkningen med IDA ska analyseras och jämföras medbostadshusets energistatus idag.
