BACKGROUND: Today?s societal changes, including high rate of change and increasing information flows, are increasing the demand on the individual mental capacity. It becomes increasingly difficult to analytically process all the different dilemmas and everyday decisions as individuals have a limited mental capacity available to make these decisions. Thus, it has been suggested that ego-depleted relies more heavily on intuition, which is less burdensome, when making decision. However little is known about to what extent intuitive decisions differ from analytic.

Live exports of animals began during the late 19th century and are nowadays a valuable alternative to the slaughter industry in Australia. About four million sheep and half a million to one million cattle are exported annually from Australia to the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Most of these animals are exported for slaughter, but some cattle are exported with the purpose of breeding. One factor that has been the driving force for the live export industry is that countries through tariffs and other barriers have favored the import of live animals rather than the import of meat.The export means that animals with a great cognitive ability are exposed to a long chain of production from the farm to the market and there are many factors that can affect the welfare of the animals in a negative way. Some of the most serious are high temperatures and a high stocking density, although seasickness, noises and handling can also have a negative impact on the welfare of animals.

Bakgrund: Läkemedel är den vanligaste behandlingsformen inom sjukvården och samtidigt det är det bästa och mest effektiva alternativet, så är användningen av läkemedel förenat med risker och bieffekter. Dessa bieffekter är en av de ledande anledningarna till dödsfall i de flesta länder. Upp till 60 % av läkemedelsrelaterade problem skulle kunna undvikas. Det kan vara ett fel som kommer att skada, eller har potential att skada patienten, även kallad undvikbar läkemedelsavvikelse, som kan förekomma i läkemedelskedjan. I SVerige avlider 3150 personer per år av sådana skador.Syfte: Syftet med studien är att beskriva de undvikbara läkemedelsavvikelser som har rapporterats inom Synergi i Landstinget i Östergötland under 2011.Metod: Genomgång av landstinget avvikelserapporteringssystem Synergi med rapporter relaterade till läkemedel.

Södra in Oskarström has the ambition to become the best client for silviculture contractors and another aim is that the contractors should feel a strong sense of community with Södra. Several factors play an important role in order for these ambitions to be realized. The purpose of this study was to investigate how the contractors feel about their business relationship with Södra. The study was conducted during the spring of 2015 through a questionnaire which was sent to all ten silviculture contractors working with Södra in Oskarström. Overall, it seemed like the contractors were satisfied with the collaboration.

Bakgrund: Ohälsa ökar idag i Sverige inom flera olika hälsoområden. Sjukdom eller andra hälsorelaterade besvär kan innebära en livsomvälvande situation för många individer. Att uppleva otrygghet och ensamhetskänslor samt avsaknad av stöd och bekräftelse i samband med detta kan bidra till ytterligare ohälsa då vårdpersonalen är påverkade av stress och tidsbrist. Antonovsky betonade vikten av ett salutogent perspektiv för att främja hälsa. Syfte: Att belysa vilka hälsofrämjande effekter hunden har på patienter inom vård och omsorg.

Lotsbroverket is the largest wastewater treatment plant on the Aland Islands and it isdesigned for handling wastewater from approximately 30 000 persons. In 2011,Lotsbroverket produced about 2800 m3 of dewatered sludge. The sewage sludge that isproduced is transported to a contractor where it is processed to eventually be used e.g.in the construction of green space. This study aims to investigate available applicationoptions in terms of the sewage sludge that is produced in Lotsbroverket. The main aimis to study the feasibility of using the produced sewage sludge as a fertilizer in theagriculture of the Aland Islands.The sludge already fulfills limit values for heavy metals in accordance with the Act"The Aland Government´s directive on the use of sewage sludge in agriculture." Inorder to clarify the sludge content of pharmaceutical and organic substances it isrequired that the substances are identified and a risk assessment is performed.

For a woman who has been diagnosed with breast cancer, there can be many negative things that effects her life. It is a great shock that changes her life and can include a sense of lost femininity and a decreased sexual desire which can be both physical and psychological. The basis of this literature review is from 17 scientific articles which evaluate the changes in cancer patient's body image and sexuality during their illness and treatment. This study illustrates patient's experience of the nursing and difficulties which obstructs the nurse from talking about sexuality whit the patient. The study also showed that the patient had a desire to discuss these sexuality issues with a nurse..

Det är känt att upp till 50% av patienter med kronisk sjukdom inte följer sinbehandlingsplan. Detta kan leda till onödigt lidande, sjukdom och sämre livskvalitet förpatienten samtidigt som det kan vara en ekonomisk förlust för samhället. Syfte: Syftetmed denna studie var att beskriva faktorer som påverkar patienters samsyn tillprevention och behandling vid kronisk sjukdom. Frågeställning: Hur kansjuksköterskan hjälpa patienter att följa sin behandlingsplan? Metod: Sökningar eftervetenskapliga engelska artiklar gjordes på databaserna Cinahl och Pub Med.

Milk ejection in dairy cows can be inhibited if oxytocin is not released from the pituitary gland. The problem with inhibition of the milk let down is not new, but has recently regained interest. It is observed during different types of emotional stress, for example when cows are moved to an unfamiliar environment, during oestrus, changing from suckling to machine milking or when being milked for the first time. The aim of the study was to examine the extent of cows with disturbed milk ejection in Sweden. A survey was sent out to 1000 dairy farmers in order to collect data about herd size, housing systems and routines at calving and milking.

The project was initiated by Medipharm which produce microbial inoculants which used as additives to preserve forage. The main goal was to test three inoculants to produce maize silege. The following Medipharm produced inoculants were tested, Milab 393, Lactisil Wolecrop II, Lactisil 300 2. An untreated control was included in the study. The trial was done at Swedish university of Agriculture and Science in Alnarp, Sweden. Eurostar was the cultivar of the maize and was grown on 20, 5 hectares.

Bakgrund: Patienter inom intensivvården sviktar oftast i flera organsystem. Miljön inom intensivvården är stressfull, högteknologisk och intensivvårdssjuksköterskan måste alltid finnas tillgänglig. Inom intensivvårdssjuksköterskans ansvarsområde ligger läkemedelshantering. Tidigare forskning har visat att frekvensen av feladministrerade läkemedel är högre inom intensivvården än övrig sjukvård, dock saknas det tidigare forskning om läkemedelshantering på vårdsal inom intensivvården.Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att belysa intensivvårdssjuksköterskors erfarenheter av fördelar och risker med läkemedelshantering på vårdsal.Metod: En fokusgruppsintervju genomfördes på en intensivvårdsavdelning i Mellansverige och en kvalitativ innehållsanalys, inspirerad av Graneheim och Lundman, användes för att analysera materialet.Resultat: Distraktion, trängsel, bristande hygien och ett behov av att visa hänsyn till patienten gjorde att arbetsmiljön inte var optimal. Trots detta var intensivvårdssjuksköterskorna positiva till läkemedelshantering på vårdsal.

In Sweden the voluntary socialwork is a complement to the public authorities. The voluntary organisations has become more important considered helping people in different situations of need. The aim of this study has been to examine the voluntary organisations meaning for individuals. The aim was reached through interviews by five guests from different organisations. We have also interviewed two employees from the different organisations to find out if there is any differences in their way of work. This study indicates that the organisations means a lot for the individuals. The social network, something to do during the day, a kind treatment but also the milieu are factors that seems important for the individuals. The organisations even creates a feeling of connection and satisfy other kind of needs. .

The object of this thesis is the foundation of ethics. The question is whether there exists a universal core to ethics consisting of a fundamental ethical principle across cultures. This principle could for example be the so-called Golden Rule, which goes as follows: ?You should do to others what you want them to do to you?. The Golden Rule is to be found in many of the world?s religions and is also reflected in secular society.

Prisons are for many an unknown world, and few know about the prison culture which includes unwritten rules, power structures, interactions and relationships between inmates and correctional employees.While many think that Swedish prisons are too comfortable,inmates are facing extreme stress due to surveillance and detention, by depriving inmates their possibility to shape their own lives. When the inmates is deprived of control over their own life?s the penal system have great power to shape and to influence the inmates.The purpose of this paper is to investigate prisoners' experiences of treatment and exercise of power in prisons. Starting point is to examine what are the kinds of relationships between prison officers and inmates from a power perspective, if there is any difference between the closed and open prisons and how the inmates affected by the structures that exist.Based on my overall purpose, and with my informant´s stories which revealed a number of similar points, four main headings were developed; Mass media and society´s view, and unknown world, interaction between inmates and prison officers and consequences.Prison officers with the role as a contact persons as well and other staff which work close to the inmates play a significant role by supporting through motivational interviewing and can help the inmates to gain insight about their life situation and actions. My informant?s underlined that a good contact person can either help or discourage.Inmates who contributed with their experiences express that there is a big difference between open-and closed prisons.

Listeriosis, which is caused by Listeria monocytogenes, is a rare food borne disease that primarily affects people whose immune system is weakened. These may be elderly people, pregnant women, new-born infants and individuals on immunosuppressive medication. The most common symptoms are meningitis, septikemia and abortion. The mortality is high, on average 20-30 %. In recent years the number of cases in Sweden has increased.
