Participatory public art projects in run down residential areas - a discussion on how to run the process
Participation, public art and participatory public
art as phenomenons and subjects have been
studied and discussed. With interviews and observations
as a base, we have studied projects
and discussed participation, effect and quality
in relation to these.
Furthermore we have looked at how the participatory
art processes work in Sweden and
England. This essay seeks to discuss the process
of participatory public art and to emphasize
the elements contributing to the quality of this
process.
It is up to us as planners to recognize the possibilities
for a qualitative place. To Mediate between
different interests, for example between
politicians and stakeholders, between economics
and quality, between the place and its users,
between individuals and the community, and in
our case between artists, users and the municipality.
Public art has gone from being about the product,
an art piece, to becoming more of a process,
from non interactive to interactive. Participation
ranges from receiving information to play
an active part in the process.
Four cases have been studied, taken both from
Sweden and England, showing the diversity of
processes connected to Participatory Public Art.
From interviews conducted in Sweden and
England information and thoughts have been
received and they show a higher degree of use
of participatory public art in England, and also a
higher consciousness.
Vårtor på mjölkkornas spenar :
The reason why I choose the subject ?Warts on teats of Dairy Cows? was because the
herd I work with has big problems with skin-complaint on teats and udder.
So I found it interesting to try to find the reason why the cows look like they do and
even to find a way to relieve the trouble.
The examine work included both a literature research, an experimental test,
concerning a comparison of different teat sprays and also an inquiry-research about
the occurrence of warts in practical herds in order to collect as much facts as possible.
Three companies, selling different types of teat disinfectants, were willing to sponsor
the teat dipping experiment. The aim of the experiment was to see if any special
disinfectant had more pronounced healing effects on teat warts. The date for the
experiment was 18th December 2004 to 22nd January 2005, which was going to be 5
weeks. The experiment was carried out in the herd of Ola and Eskil Carlsson in
Fjärlöv, Hässleholm.
The three compared teat spray chemicals were; Nova Viri Sun, Nardosept, and
BlockadeTM. These chemicals were compared to one control group, which teats were
treated with the ordinary chemical normally used in the herd, i.e.
Inkomstfördelning och ekonomisk utveckling -en studie av forna sovjetstater
The economic development and industrialization that has taken place in many parts of the world during the past century has brought about a huge increase in economic welfare. During this process, it has repeatedly been debated whether the gains from economic development are shared by everyone or just a few. In the field of economics, vast research has been conducted on this particular subject ever since the 1950?s. The most famous contribution might be said to be Simon Kuznets article, Growth and Income Inequality from 1955 and the ?inverted U?-hypothesis that was formulated on the basis of that article.

Odour-mediated behaviour in codling moth, Cydia pomonella : do fermentation odours affect the attraction and oviposition behaviour in codling moth?
The codling moth, Cydia pomonella is a common pest in apple orchards and can be found worldwide. Feeding by codling moth larvae can cause a substantial decrease in apple yield. Control methods comprise for example the use of pesticides, viruses and pheromones. As a sustainable control method, pheromones have been successfully applied to disrupt moth mating behaviour. Other behaviours like foraging, search for mating sites or host finding could be potential targets for additional odour-Mediated behavioural manipulation but need further investigations of the underlying odour stimuli and behavioural plasticity.
Many insects are attracted to the smell of fermenting fruit and associated microorganisms.

Steget från tanke till handling : En studie om viktiga faktorer för nyföretagande bland kvinnliga studenter
Women who support themselves through self-employment are relatively low compared to men, in Sweden. Women make up around 30 percent of newly started enterprises. The Swedish government considers that the Swedish economical growth would increase if there were more companies. Through encouraging women to start enterprises to the same extent as men, Sweden can increase growth rate and create more employment. Despite all efforts being made, advances are not really reached.
Representation = legala mutor? : Gränsen mellan representation enligt 16 kap. 2 § IL och mutor eller andra otillbörliga belöningar enligt 9 kap. 10 § IL
Companies use different forms of representation to promote business negotiations. The regulations for the right to deduction for the cost of representation are stated in Chapter 16 section 2 of the Swedish Income Tax Act (IL). According to the law there must be an im-Mediate connection between the expenditure and the business practice and the claimed de-duction must be reasonable. The Swedish tax authority publishes general recommendations regarding representation which are used as guidelines for the tax payer to follow. The gen-eral provision about tax deduction can be found in Chapter 16 section 1 of the Swedish In-come Tax Act (IL), stating that expenses to acquire or retain income shall be deductible.
Miljöbedömning av mark- och vattenresurser i kommunal översiktsplanering : en fallstudie av en del av planprocessen i Tierps kommun
This paper describes the integration of environmental assessment in Swedish municipality
comprehensive planning through a chosen case study. The implementation of a new EGdirective in Swedish law, concerning Assessment of the effects of certain plans and
programmes on the environment, should lead to some changes in the way Swedish
municipalities' deals with environmental issues in their comprehensive plans. This could later on lead to new preconditions for municipality comprehensive planning.
The purpose of this study was to investigate how the planning organisation in the municipality adapts to new regulations for impact assessment of comprehensive plans required by the Planning and Building act. Secondly the purpose was to partly participate in the early stages of the planning process and thereby indicate and identify possible environmental impacts regarding the aspects of land and water. This was done as a case study in a well defined part of the process.
