The electric vehicle market has potential to contribute to Sweden?s national goal to have a fossil fuel independent transport sector by 2030. However, the market answers to a lot of challenges making it difficult for the market to fully reach its potential. The volume of electric vehicles has seen a steady increase during the last year (2012), although many of these vehicles are mostly for PR purposes or bought by the public sector that wants to lead by example. Still, barriers in the form of high purchase costs, an anxiety for the limited battery capacity and the lack of standardisation are some of the problems that the market is struggling to solve.

Research makes it clear that machinery, throughout history and even today, has been seen as a male area. Heavy machines are often associated with the same attributes as masculinity. Trots mångåriga ansträngningar och även om relativt många hundar röntgas i Sverige idag, så orsakar armbågsleds- och höftledsdysplasi fortfarande stora problem inom många hundraser, t ex labrador retriever. Armbågsledsdysplasi (AD) och höftledsdysplasi (HD) klassificeras som utvecklingsrubbningar. Armbågsledsdysplasi (AD) är ett samlingsbegrepp för sådana förändringar i leden som redan hos den unga individen kan leda till osteoartros (OA). Armbågsledsartros innebär en onormal förslitning av ledbrosket i armbågsleden vilket ger upphov till benpålagringar. Olika typer av tillväxtrubbningar i och runt leden är orsak till förslitningen av ledbrosket och de senare uppkomna pålagringarna.
