The present study deals with the importance of play for children's learning in preschool. The purpose is to investigate the importance of play for children's learning in preschool from a pedagogue?s perspective. The study is based on two issues: How does the pedagogue´s who were interviewed reason about the impact the play has on children's development? How does the pedagogue´s approach to make play a learning situation? The empirical data is based on semi-structured interviews with four preschool pedagogue´s.

The purpose of this study has been to explore definitions of violence performed in the name of honor, and the conditions under which the phenomenon occurs and is upheld. Furthermore, the study aimed at exploring how the Swedish expression for violence in the name of honor, ?hedersrelaterat våld?, is used within the Swedish media. To achieve these purposes, previous research in this matter was reviewed, as well as an analysis by means of categorizing the content of news articles from two Swedish daily newspapers. Previous research has showed that this type of violence occurs foremost within cultures upholding patriarchal structures and traditions, and women?s (non-)sexuality is looked upon as being of an utmost importance for the family?s honor.

Using qualitative interviews this study looks at their possibilities to create a social network in Sweden and how their network helps them to solve problems. Knowledge of this subject is important for social workers, in order to be able to encourage and help unaccompanied refugee children to build a social network. The base for our analysis is attachment theory, coping theory, social network theory, KASAM theory, risk and resilience theory, system theory are used to give deeper insight into experiences of four unaccompanied refugee boys.

The purpose of the thesis is to examine the relation between art, politics and ideology in contemporary art, focusing on the drawings depicting Mohammed the prophet as a dog, made by the Swedish artist Lars Vilks. His work is contextual in accordance with current art practice, thus letting everything related to the artwork become part of it, a circumstance the thesis tries to grasp in the widest respect possible. The drawings were published and spread throughout Swedish media, where they were later defended and criticized by a number of writers. Many debaters argued that the art work represents Western freedom of speech, and that to criticize them is to criticize fundamental democratic rights. This discourse tended to disqualify all arguments that questioned why such force was put into defending and spreading offensive pictures.

This report describes the work process to an interactive movie addressed to children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, where Jippieserien is the client. The aim is to explore how multimodal media can convey Jippieseriens message to children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and their parents, by taking the users needs into account.It is important to focus on the people who will use the system when designing interactive systems. Tiggeri och tiggare är idag ett omtalat fenomen som berör människor på olika sätt. Hur människor bildar sig en uppfattning kring ett fenomen kan många gånger avgöras av hur media framställer fenomenet. I denna studie presenteras en analys kring hur tiggeri och tiggare framställs i media över en längre tidsperiod. Materialet består av 30 artiklar publicerade i Dagens Nyheter under perioden december 1998 ? december 2013.

Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka vad lärare och pedagoger anser om effekterna av media, IT och IKT i undervisningen. Främjar eller hämmar det elevernas kunskapsinhämtande och vilken påverkan har den tekniska tillgången på elevernas skriftspråk, det vill säga hur mycket påverkas eleverna av det språk som förekommer i andra informella kontexter så som textmeddelande (sms) via telefonen, bruket av chattspråk samt de bloggsidor som de regelbundet besöker. Den variant av tillvägagångssätt jag har valt att grunda undersökningen på är av kvantitativ form. Påverkas elevernas skriftspråk något av den IT som förekommer i undervisningen idag och åt vilket håll i så fall? The aim of the essay is to be theory-testing as to see how a municipality/city which promotes itself as being ?green? motivates its efforts in the environmental area. Växjö city promotes itself as ?The greenest city in Europe?, an award appointed to the city by BBC and other international media.

The aim of this thesis is to study whether social welfare secretaries experience occupational pride and what affects this feeling. Previously made research indicate that occupational pride is essential for performance and work-related health. Research has also shown that social welfare secretaries often experience unhealthiness due to working conditions and a lack of professional self-esteem.This thesis is based on four qualitative interviews which have focused especially on critical incidents, according to the critical incident technique. This study has a hermeneutic, interpretative approach. As a theoretical framework, Pierre Bourdieu? s theory on social space and positions aswell as Aaron Antonovsky´s theory on Sence of coherence have been used. The result shows that the interviewed social welfare secretaries do experience occupational pride.

Syftet med denna kandidatuppsats är att undersöka vilka faktorer som kantänkas ligga bakom medias sätt att skriva om socialt arbete, på vilket sätt media skriver om socialt arbete utifrån hur tre svenska tidningsgenrer speglade det sociala arbetets profession åren 2002 och 2012 och vad detta kan tänkas ha för påverkan på läsarna och det sociala arbetets profession. Metoderna som används i undersökningen är en kvalitativ innehållsanalys och en diskursanalys. Materialet begränsas till artiklar publicerade i Sverige åren 2002 och 2012, från en national-, en regional- och åtta landsortstidningar. Faktorer som kan tänkas ligga bakom tidningars sätt att skriva om socialt arbete kan kopplas till att media använder sig av ett stiliserat berättande med bestämda roller. Socialt arbete får rollen som den starka myndigheten med makt över de svaga.

This essay aims to examine how science fiction literature is supported and made available for readers at four public libraries. Each library has its own opinion of what a public library?s role in society is, and that affects how literature acquisition and media exposure is done at that particular library. To explore this, the author uses a modified version of Elzinga and Andersson?s theory of traditionalism, pragmatism and emancipationism.
