Comfort analyses regarding human induced vibrationsIt is not too common among civil engineers in Sweden to perform comfort analyses considering the vibrations caused by human activities. In addition, the Swedish standards lack requirements to be used for comfort analyses in design of floor-systems. The demand for large spans in combination with slender slabs, is today a reason to investigate the floor-system constructions, in order to prevent disturbing vibrations and oscillations.The purpose of this thesis is to create a guide for how a comfort analysis, considering vibrations, should be implemented. Göran Svedenbjörk who is an expert in structural dynamics has been interviewed where he presents his latest project Värtaterminalen and answers some questions about vibrations due to human activities.Floor-systems, consisting of concrete slabs supported by steel or concrete beams, have been investigated with simulations in the finite element program Abaqus. In the simulations, the influence of various factors on the natural frequency of floor-systems and the acceleration level caused by dynamic loads, is studied.

Under det senaste decenniet har en skärpning av svensk deponeringslagstiftning skett. En konsekvens av den strängare lagstiftningen är att flertalet av dagens deponier ej uppfyller de krav som ställs och därmed måste de stängas ner. Detta har medfört att behovet av material för sluttäckning av deponier har ökat. Ett potentiellt sätt att tillgodose materielbehovet och samtidigt bespara naturresurser är att återanvända restprodukter. En restprodukt som potentiellt kan användas som konstruktionsmaterial vid sluttäckning av deponier är bottenaska och en tänkbar applikation är som dräneringsskikt.

Larsberg på Lidingö byggdes sent sextiotal i tidstypisk anda. En ny stadsdel anlades med fj orton tiovåningars skivhus, tre lägre lamellhus och ett mindre centrum för service och handel. Området anlades som hus i park, på det viset att man lade bostadshusen i en stor båge kring befi ntlig natur som genomskars med gångvägar och kantades med extensiva gräsytor. De öppnare ytornas solitärträd har med tiden lyckats skapa vacker rumsbildning och som besökare i parken fi nner man en stor kvalitet i den ständiga glänta som skapas mellan vildare natur och det gräsbeklädda landskapet. Tyvärr håller inte övrig miljö samma klass. Mellan husen är funktioner dubbelt inramade av växter och staket.

There is little knowledge about abuse of anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS) in Sweden. Thispaper aims to explore, from a discourse psychological angle, how persons with experience ofanabolic androgenic steroids (AAS) construct there identities.The theory and method used as a frame for the paper is discursive psychology, depending on thefocus in the paper of human beings use of language in the construction of identities. Forcollection of data interviews were made. The six respondents al had experience of use of AAS.The interviews illustrated how users of AAS speak about AAS, and create there identity, inrelation to AAS. In the interpretation of data we used two different tools, used by discursivepsychologists, interpretative repertoires and subject positions.

The idea for the thesis ?Construction and implementation of a mobile prototype; The Lovebomb? originates from doctoral candidates Rebecca Hansson and Tobias Skog from PLAY Research Group at the Interactive Institute in Gothenburg. The object of the master thesis is to construct two working LoveBomb prototypes, one mother console belonging to the LoveBomb and blueprints for both. The LoveBomb (the picture to the right shows a possible design) is intended to encourage people to express themselves emotionally when situated amongst strangers in public spaces. Two buttons control the device, which contains a radio transceiver.

Saab Aerosystems has a long tradition and a lot of competence in the field of flight simulation. Their ambition to broaden the market horizon has led to a discussion about also selling vehicle simulation solutions, both for military and civilian use.The aim of this thesis is to investigate the driver?s experiences of the accelerations he or she is exposed to whilst driving in rough terrain. The results may be used as a basis for future decisions and can act as a platform for the construction of an effective simulation model.To investigate the driver?s exposure of acceleration, some kind of dynamic simulation is needed.

Att människan blir påverkad av miljön hon har omkring sig är ingen ny idé, och att vi mår bättre i naturmiljöer än i andra miljöer är också något man har trott länge. På senare tid har det kommit platser i form av hälsoträdgårdar som är skapade just för att göra så att vi mår bättre. Det finns både rehabiliteringsträdgårdar där man aktivt arbetar i trädgården för att må bättre, restorativa trädgårdar där det är miljön som ska påverka till att människor mår bättre och rehabiliteringsträdgårdar där både miljön och aktivt arbete ska verka för att få människor att må bättre. I detta arbete ligger fokus på själva mljöns påverkan på människor utan aktivt arbete i miljön och i arbetet undersöks hur en bra restorativ trädgård kan skapas. Detta görs genom en litteraturstudie över olika teorier om varför människor mår bra i naturmiljöer, vilka utemiljöer och element människor tycker bäst om, och olika förslag över vad en restorativ trädgård bör innehålla. Samt även en fallstudie över Hälsoträdgården i Torup, en befintlig hälsoträdgård där den restorativa aspekten har en stor roll.

The report also presents possible solutions to prevent the occurrence of defects. It also covers the issue of how the client looks at Peabs way to overcome the objections of warranty inspections. The report has the following issues:?What are the most common errors observed during the warranty inspection??What are the causes of complaints??What can be done to reduce the number of complaints??How the customer thinks that the complaints be addressed?Twenty-five Guarantee survey records from the projects Peab has done in recent years has been the starting point for the investigation.

The park at Svaneholm is a place, the history of which is very little known today and the needfor better knowledge has been the cause of this investigation. The essay is primarily limited tothe time from late 17th century up to the end of the 18th century and takes stand on profoundinvestigations in accessible map-and archive material. The results presented show a manorhill, which during the course of a hundred years was subject to several changes and in bigparts consisted in other than park/garden.Burman related to the manor hill containing a cowshed, a large dam and a parterre garden isix quarters and it is plausible to think, that this establishment generally was built as producedon the plate.In the 18th century the construction is being changed, they go on building at the cowshed andin 1707 there are totally 268 livestock on the farm. Background:Life-cycle costing (LCC) is an investment calculation that takes intoaccount operating costs throughout the investee lifecycle. LCC calculations are mainly usedto evaluate investments that have no revenue side. Attempts to apply the LCC calculations forbuilding-related investments have occurred since the 1980s. Despite the advantages ofusing LCC calculations, use has not passed through in full. The main obstacles have beenidentified as a lack of relevant input data, and insufficient experience of workingwith LCC calculations.

The construction industry is one of theindustrieswithmostinjuredinSweden. There is reason to believe that there are deficienciesinhow the work environment iscommunicatedbetweendifferent parties. Interest in theworkenvironment has increasedin recent years,whichmakes problems and shortcomingsin this subject highlighted to a greater extent. There are severalways to workwithwork related health on the building sites. The Work Environment Plan isa tool that earlyin the planning of the project call attention to the risks and as far as possible prevents them. The purpose of this report is to improve how the workenvironmentreaches the production and how it is applied in everyday work.

Societies are surrounded by unaware attitudes and views about what is masculine and what is feminine and this can contribute to people being raced differently. Boys and girls are shaped to think and act in different ways from an early age because of their gender. According to the curriculum in the Swedish school system, the school has an important task to prevent such perceptions young people have about sex and gender. Reading books are still a central source where students gather information in the Swedish school. Therefore, I find it interesting to examine how gender is produced in three Swedish reading books from three different periods (1950s, 1970s and 2000s) to see what similarities and differences there are between the texts and the study has been based on three questions:How are men/boys and women/girls described in the reading books based on their characteristics, interests and pursuits?How much space in the texts are represented by men/boys and by women/girls?What masculinities and femininities can be found in the texts and which ones are the most desirable?I have used a text analysis in my research to analyse the three reading books and based my theory on that gender is a social construction.

Promoters are genetic elements that facilitate the transcription of a gene and they have been found in front of non-coding RNA (ncRNA) genes in different organ-isms, e.g. the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. A similar element, DUSE, has been found in front of ncRNAs in the social amoeba Dictyostelium discoideum and a part of this project has been to analyze the function of this putative promoter element through cloning and expression studies. A construct to analyze the func-tion of DUSE was successfully designed and introduced into D. discoideum but full expression studies were not finished because of shortage of time.

Jag har skapat en kort serieroman med tillhörande cd-skiva där bilderna, texten och musiken formar en helhet vilken blir som störst om alla element tas del av samtidigt. Min frågeställning har varit: hur skapas ett nytt medium genom att kombinera musik med en serieroman? Syftet med det här arbetet har varit att skapa ett medium som på bästa sätt drar nytta av musikens och serieromanens styrkor och att kombinera dem på ett sätt som inte gjorts förut. Jag kommer i den här uppsatsen förklara hur jag kom på den här idén, vad jag sedan skapade för produkt och hur min arbetsprocess såg ut. Slutligen resonerar jag kring vad jag kunde gjort annorlunda och hur mitt arbete kan vidareutvecklas..

Täby galoppfällt kommer att genomgå en förvandling som innebär att ca 4000 nya bostäder kommer att tillföras under en 15 års period. Täby kom-mun tillsammans med byggherrarna JM/Skanska och Viggbyholms fastig-hets AB driver projektet med målet om en sammanhållen, hållbar park i stad. I snitt flyttar svensken 11 gånger under sin livstid. Detta innebär att de som flyttar in i startskedet av utbyggnaden med stor sannolikhet kommer att hinna flytta ut innan hela stadsdelen är färdigt utbyggd. Att stadsdelens ut-byggnad sker på ett sådant sätt att målen om en hållbar och sammanhållen stad inte bara uppfylls i och med projektets färdigställande ut även bäddas in som en röd tråd under hela byggtiden är alltså mycket viktig.
