The economic growth we have experienced the last century is based on limited natural resources. Whether these resources will last for a further economic growth is widely debated. Pessimism and optimism have each been influential philosophies in debate whose opinions can be conceded as two opposing opinions. In this paper we have analyze these opinions from an economics perspective. To study this further, the construction and Meaning of the pessimistic and optimistic arguments have been applied implicitly on the Leontief production function and the Solow growth model.

ABSTRACTThe aim of this study was to ascertain whether there was any interest among dental hygienists, raising their level of competence throught attending additional courses or gaining further qualifications. The study was carried out by sending out two-hundred questionarires to randomly chosen dental hygienists. After one remainder come the answer frequency up to 66%. The study shows that many of the dental hygienists are interested to study at college. Many wanted raising level of comtpetence by education, wich also the study shows.

This thesis in social anthropology is based on the inner essence, manifestations and tendencies of Scottish nationalism and regionalism. The thesis intends to investigate how Scottish nationalism and regionalism are related to each other. It is meant to highlight the Meaning of the Wallace-myth for maintenance of the Scottish national consciousness and to illuminate factors lying behind this myth. Since none of W.A Mozart's own cadenzas for his Violin Concerto no. 4 in D major have been preserved, and there is only one existing standard cadenza by Joseph Joachim, I have chosen to write my own cadenza, but in the end I decided to write three cadenzas. As a background to my thesis I analyzed and studied the different motives in the first movement, as well as four cadenzas from different eras. I made a comparison of these four cadenzas, looking at how the composers have used the different themes and motives from the concerto. I have also explained the Meaning and purpose of the term cadenza.

This essay presents a picture of swedish reggae listeners and how their love of music give Meaning to their lives and unite them in a sub-culture. Based on interviews with six young men about their involvement in reggae, it also investigates the relationship between music and identity, or more clearly; how identity is expressed through music. Furthermore, I discuss the notion of taste according to Bourdieu, and argue against his statement that taste in music affirms the class and social background of an individual. Results from my empirical data have indicated that reggae music is difficult to associate to a distinct lifestyle, which inclines me to argue that it has managed to transcend phenomena such as ethnicity, class and cultural affiliation..

This study has a double purpose. First, it explores and maps out the use of quantitative key indicators in social performance reporting within a microfinance portfolio. This was done on behalf of Storebrand Asset Management, who would like to aggregate and report the social results of their microfinance investments to their customers. The study concludes that the extent of social reporting and types of indicators used varies, Meaning that it is hard to aggregate data for use in further reporting. Thus, the work towards the goal of social reporting has only just begun.
