This paper will portray the differences and similarities that exist between students whoattended the Swedish School of Library and Information Science in Borås.The study is based upon quantitative information gathered from a survey which wasdistributed to first-year students in Borås in the auturnn term 1994. A total of 77 studentsresponded to the survey.We also do a comparative study of the students at all the library programs in Sweden.This is partially based on the findings by a thesis prior to this one by the authorsSvalstedt and Österdahl.We found that the students in Borås differ mainly in their personal histories and backgrounds.When it comes to their attitudes towards the profession and educationalmatters they are similar. Further we found the same to be tme in our comparison of thelibrary programs in total..

Denna utredning har gjorts för att genomlysa en teknik som går under namnet JavaTM 2 Micro Edition (J2METM). Vårt mål var att grundligt belysa tekniken och tanken bakom J2ME samt att visa på för- respektive nackdelar med tekniken avseende prestanda och säkerhet. Ett annat mål med utredningen var att visa på praktisk användbarhet av Java i mobiltelefoner och konsekvenser på den mobila infrastrukturen. J2ME är en plattform skapad för att tillmötesgå behoven från den snabbt växande marknaden av produkter som försetts med processorkraft. Dessa datoriserade enheter är mindre än traditionella bordsdatorer och har därmed en annan typ av fysiska begränsningar i form av t.ex.

Internet består av väldigt många webbplatser där både kvalitet och kvantitet varierar. Dagens webbplatser är ofta kompakta genom att de innehåller mycket länkar, information och grafik. Detta medför att sidorna blir röriga och ger för många synintryck för användaren. Det blir svårt för användaren att ta till sig informationen och att tyda budskapet. I detta arbete utreds hur en webbplats bör se ut för att vara så tydlig som möjligt gentemot användaren.

For my advanced degree in archival science, I have organized and catalogued the Blomqvist family archive.  The Blomqvist family archive consists of records from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 21th century. The records in the archive depict and describe different aspect of the Blomqvist familys life and work. Specific problems and theoretical questions that appeared during the cataloguing of the Blomqvist archive were related to the great presence of objects and photographs in the archive. A discussion concerning the role of objects in archives and within archive institution took place. The problem with cataloguing photographs as well as the problem of searching for photographs in archives, were also discussed.       .

The aim of the study is to evaluate how a law decided 2002 regarding discrimination against students in the higher education system in Sweden, was implemented at the University of Kalmar and Växjö University.The study asks two questions: How did the both universities implement the law? How did the universities manage to implement the law? In order to answer these questions the ?top-down? perspective, often used in field social science within discipline implementation, is used. First the study examines the goals with the legislation, and thereafter the actual implementation at the both examined universities.The conclusion is that the universities has high ambitions with implementation of the law and extensive formalized regulations but that it practically seems to be hard to get legitimacy with the implementation throughout the whole organizations. This makes the implementation work slowly though it?s working well with the people who have direct responsibility for the implementation..

?Fan fiction writing?, or the writing of stories based upon a popular entertainment franchise, has become a topic of academic discussion. Fan fiction writers have waked the ire of movie producers, since they often write fiction that is in direct contradiction to the movie?s plot or spirit. While most academic studies on fan fiction have concentrated on his confrontational aspect of the writers? psyches, we have found that the writers actually have a much more nuanced approach to their work, and are not necessarily hostile towards the directors and producers.

FN:s Barnkonvention paragraf 12 säger att barn har rätt att forma egna åsikter  och att fritt uttrycka dessar. Detta blir extra viktigt då barn inte är myndiga och därför saknar formell möjlighet till inflytande. Men hur ofta lyssnar politiker och andra vuxna till vad barn tänker och tycker?Genom mitt designpedagogiska projekt ville jag därför ta reda på: hur och på vilka sätt kan ett designpedagogiskt projekt ge unga medborgare möjlighet att göra sin röst hörd? Projektet avser att barn och ungas röster ges möjlighet att höras, framförallt med hantverk som metod men även genom samtal och text. Deltagarna kreerade stora flaggor fyllda med idéer om vad de önskade fanns för dem i sin stad.

Detta är rapporten för hur IF Trions hemsida kom till och utvecklades. Från det att iden kläcktes tills det att hemsidan var helt färdigställd. Arbetet bygger mycket på de olika säkerhetsbrister som en hemsida kan ha, till exempel hur lösenord ska hanteras. Med avseende på detta så ingår ett avsnitt i rapporten om de vanligaste säkerhetsproblem som man kan tänkas stöta på under uppbyggnadsfasen och exempel på hur man kan lösa dem. PHP är det programmeringsspråk som IF Trions hemsida är kodat med. För att göra det lättare att välja vilket programmeringsspråk man ska använda sig av när man ska börja koda en hemsida så ingår ett kapitel som tar upp fördelar och nackdelar om PHP och ASP.

Positiv särbehandling är ett ständigt aktuellt ämne. Frågor som diskuteras är bland annat var gränserna går mellan positiv särbehandling och otillåten diskriminering, samt om dessa typer av åtgärder kan rättfärdigas som medel för att uppnå rättvisa mellan grupper. Positiv särbehandling finns reglerad i nationell såväl som EG-rättslig lagstiftning. I svensk rätt återfinns undantaget från direkt diskriminering i Jämställdhetslag (1991:433). I gemenskapsrätten stadgas rätten till positiv särbehandling i artikel 141.4 EG-fördraget, likabehandlingsdirektivet samt i rådets rekommendation 84/635/EEG.

Our project is divided into two parts, one production and written report. The main focus was the production part, were we used PHP to create simple solution for handling SMS and MMS with direct communication with the mobile operator server. We communicate with sockets and can handle CIMD2 and MM7 protocol. To get our components easy to use we have created two classes to handle SMS and MMS. To demonstrate our technical platform we created a website were you can create an account.

Denna uppsats är en kvalitativ studie av Navet Science Centers diskurs för hållbar utveckling. Detta som ett exempel på hur hållbar utveckling kan prägla en verksamhet, utifrån ett resonemang att en diskurs är dialektiskt och både formar sin kontext men också blir formad däri. Navet är en fortbildningsinstans för naturvetenskap, teknik, matematik och hållbar utveckling. I den teoretiska anknytning behandlas först och främst den komplexitet och tolkningsutrymme som finns inom hållbar utveckling, vilket kopplas samman med lärande om hållbar utveckling. Vilken version av diskursbegreppet avgör hur metoden utformas och därmed behandlar teorin en förklaring av val av diskursbegrepp, vilket är Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), och hur denna ser ut.

The purpose of this examination was to se how exercise affects the learning capacity. In this work I have chosen to integrate natural science with sport and the target group was a primary department. The two areas I integrate with sports were: the digestive system and knowledge of deciduous trees. I split the class in two different groups. One group got to have a theoretical lesson and the other one got to have an exercise lesson.

The purpose of this thesis was to examine if there where fallacies in the design solutions for the business system IFS Applications from a user perspective, and if so, correct these from a cognitive science approach.Data collection consisted of three main portions. These where; workshop, individual interviews and observations. The collected data was analyzed and resulted in identification of two main areas in the application that where found lacking.The result of the study showed that the usability for processing large amounts of data and the lack of customization where the main flaws in the application. Two low fidelity prototypes where created with the purpose of rectifying the underlying flawed design solutions that where identified from the collected data..

The purpose of this thesis is to examine how novices set about when they search for information. Marchionini's information-seeking model is the theoretical starting point, which is supplemented by theories of other specialists within the field, such as Chowdhury; Harter; Large, Tedd and Hartley. As method a questionnaire survey was used. The questionnaire was sent to 96 students at IHM Business School in Gothenburg and 57 questionnaires were returned. The results show among other things that the majority of the students used highly interactive search strategies, and they did not plan their search before they carried out the search.

In Sweden and in Scandinavia the amount of tree species are rather few. However many different forms of trees arise due to mutations and gives rare appearances like cut-leaved and hanging forms. In some cases these trees are interesting as cultivars and a few of them have become popular garden trees. The knowledge of the original trees and early propagation is meagre.In this study a selected group of trees were found through search of literature. Eight tree forms were chosen and investigated in situ.
