The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate and update load curves for Fortum Distribution AB. Theload curve method is a tool used to forecast the strain of an electric grid. The method is based oncustomer annual energy consumption, outdoors temperature as well as customer category. Theload curve method was established by Svenska Elverksföreningen at the start of the nineties andfocus was put on standardizing annual energyconsumption, in order to make the method usableacross the nation. Present consumption patterns have changed since the original load curves wereproduced, which leads to a need to update the load curves.The work began with an update of present load curves according to recommendation taken fromanother earlier thesis.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the stir drying method, for drying of grain during Swedish conditions. The evaluation was done during the harvest year 2004, on four farms with stir driers. The driers were evaluated for their energy consumption, design, stirring effectiveness and how much time the farmer has to spend on every tonne of grain. A comparison was also done with conventional Swedish high temperature driers. Totaly six batches of grain from stir driers were examined, mostly winter wheat, but also barley and wheat.

För att kunna prestera bra under fysiskt krävande ishockeymatcher krävs det att spelarna harhög maximal benstyrka och en hög explosiv förmåga. Bilaterala knäböj är en erkänd och välspridd övning för att förbättra power och muskelstyrka i benen. Unilaterala knäböj är än mersportspecifika för ishockeyn. Vid en isokinetisk rörelse är hastigheten förutbestämd ochdärmed konstant medan kraften kan förändras under rörelsen. De flesta isokinetiska systemhar varit designade för unilaterala isolerade övningar, men gällande isokinetiskaflerledsövningar så som knäböj tycks det inte finnas någon forskning om i nuläget.Studiens syfte var att undersöka effekten av sex veckors unilateral styrketräning (knäböj),antingen genom traditionell eller genom isokinetisk träning, på power i unilaterala ochbilaterala jump squats och 17.3 m sprinttid på is hos manliga juniorishockeyspelare.20 manliga ishockeyspelare på elitnivå, 18-19 år gamla, delades slumpmässigt in i två olikaträningsgrupper.
Småskalig vattenkraft vid Olofsfors bruksmuseum : Med faunapassage
In Sweden there are 1894 small-scale hydropower plants in operation, which together generate 4.3 TWh of electricity per year according to Swedish hydropower compound (SVKF, 2011). This corresponds to the annual consumption of about 860,000 Swedish households (based on an annual consumption of 5000 kWh). In the mid-1950s there were around 4000 small-scale hydropower plants in operation in Sweden before cheap fossil fuels and uranium competed with them, in the current situation only 1,894 of these are in use. If slumbering small hydropower plants once again would be taken into use and some new ones are built, we would be able to extract about 7 TWh of renewable electricity from these annually in Sweden, representing about 1.4 million households.The thesis intends to calculate and construct a hydroelectric power plant at the existing dam in Olofsfors and give suggestions on how the power station should run during the time that fish migration is greatest in Leduån.The turbine and generator to the station in Leduån at Olofsfors is designed by the height of the fall and the water flow through the dam. The turbine selected for the station is a CK-1000RM turbine with a 4-pole 250 kW generator from Cargo & power turbine Sweden AB, which is expected to deliver 1.2 GWh per year.
Implementation av ett digitalt vågfilter på en SIC-struktur
When implementing syncronous filters with global clock nets, a substantial amount of energy is consumed in the clock net. Hence, it is interesting to reduce the size of the clock net, which in turn will reduce the total energy consumption. One way to acheive this, is to create a SIC (Structured Interfacing of Computational elements) since such a structure can be created without a global clock net. Our results show that a fifth order wavedigital filter with a sample rate of at least 10M samples/sec may be achieved.

Photodynamic therapy is a relatively new treatment for superficial squamous cell
carcinoma in cats. There are no publications indicating that the method is being
used in veterinary practice in Sweden at the present time. The method uses the
interaction between a photosensitive agent which has been administered to the
tumor area, light of a wavelength that can be absorbed by the photosensitiser and
the presence of oxygen. In this study photodynamic treatments were performed at
the Queen?s Veterinary School Hopital of Cambridge University between 1998
and 2002.
Utvärdering av den biologiska reningen av processavloppsvattnet vid GE Healthcare i Uppsala
GE Healthcare operates in Uppsala (Sweden) and develops systems, equipments and medium to purify medical substances. Discussions with the local authority concerning planed far-reaching changes and upgrades of the biological process techniques for sewage management, aroused the question about revising the terms of permit for the activity. Therefore it seemed necessary to evaluate a newly installed biological process technique, which is the background of this thesis. The evaluated biological treatment process was built in 2003 and consists of a biological reactor filled with moving bed carriers with a high surface area for biological growth. At the time of the project the biological wastewater treatment plant consisted of a flow equalization facility and two following parallel biological processes; a biological reactor with moving bed carriers and a tower trickling filter.The aim of this thesis was to survey the function of the biological reactor with respect to the reduction of organic matter.

The purpose of this report was to investigate how the abiotic factors (temperature, pH, nutrients, oxygen levels and water content) would affect the decomposition of oil-contaminated soil and how a variance in structured soil would affect the decomposition-rate. A minor field-study was made and soil where structured in five different ways (one was a default pile and was used as a reference). The study took place over 137 days and three samples were taken (start, middle, end) and analyzed for aromatic and aliphatic compounds. The result of this study shows that there is a significant difference between all methods for the aliphatic compounds and no significant difference for the aromatic compounds. The abiotic factors that affect decomposition vary from organism to organism, depending on what type of environment it will function the best.
Skönlitteraturens nya kläder? Elektronisk publicering av skönlitteratur: en kvalitativ intervjustudie med nio svenska förlag och fyra andra aktörer på det litterära fältet
The main objective of this essay is to present the views of nine Swedish publishers and four other agents in the literary field regarding the possibilities of and obstacles to publishing fiction in an electronic format. Furthermore, whether or not electronic publishing is today actually a viable alternative. A substantial part of the essay functions as background to our interview findings and is based primarily on material originating from the Sociology of Literature field. The introductory chapter expounds the methodological and theoretical basis of the essay and is followed by a chapter placing our study in a larger, international media, context. Chapter three deals with the past decades? restructuring of the publishing sector, the professional functions involved in traditional publishing and Pierre Bourdieu?s theories on the cultural and economic forces at work in the literary field.

It is importantto make old houses more energy efficient, but putting high energy demands on new houses could beargued to be more important. The installations functions as both the heart and brain in a house, thusmaking it important to energy optimize these. Since the background describes the importance ofenergy efficiency and optimization in a house, the focus area of this report will be an investigation ofdifferent types of heating systems in order to be able to choose the one most suited for the house.Aspects considered when choosing the heating system was how economic the system is both inservice- and investment costs and how environmental and operational friendly the system is.Through literature reviews there were sufficient information gathered that served as a foundation whencomparing and choosing between the four systems - district heating, pellet-fired boiler, geothermalheating and solar heating.

To get under control with our environmental issues it?s important to find substitutes for oil that are both cheap and environmentally friendly. Ethanol has a long history as a motor fuel and is both enviromentally friendly has a high efficiency.According to the EU commissions directives for motor fuels, 5, 75 % of all the fuels in Sweden should be renewable in 2010.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att belysa IRA utveckling mellan 1968-1974 utifrån de sex grundläggande förmågorna.Resultatet visar att IRA utveckling under tiden för studien främst skedde inom förmågan verkan, andra förmågor som ledning och und/info tog längre tid att utveckla. En orsak till detta kan vara att studien omfattar inledningen av konflikten och IRA utveckling mot att bli en icke-statlig väpnad aktör..
Sopa, Sopa, SOPA! : En studie om curling på en kraftplatta
SyfteDetta arbete skall illustrera vilka vertikala och horisontala krafter samt impulser som finns inom curling sopad med borste på en artificiell yta.Frågeställningen är följande:? Vilken kraft i Newton och Newtonsekund skapar en sopande curlingspelare?? Vilket förhållandet av samband mellan högt antal sopcykler och hög impuls vid sopning i curling råder?? Finns en signifikant skillnad mellan tre set av maximalsopning i form av sjunkande impuls?MetodTestgrupp bestod av nio curlingspelare, tre kvinnor och sex män deltog (m=30,7+5,7år, 76,667+8,43kg). En uppvärmning genomfördes med tio minuters cykling på en ergometercykel, Monark 318, och 15 armhävningar. Testet bestod av tre delar, del ett maximalt tryckförsök, del två sopning 10 sekunder, del tre sopning 25 sekunder i tre set. Avslutande test var tre upprepningar på 25 sekunder med maximal sopning.
Kapacitetsanalys av CFB-pannan vid SCA Packaging Munksund AB
Kraftvärmeverket vid SCA Packaging Munksund AB är ett samarbete mellan SCA och Vattenfall och det består av en ångpanna av typen cirkulerande fluidiserad bädd som togs i drift 2001. Man vill nu genomföra en undersökning om CFBpannans prestanda har förändrats sedan starten, samt en undersökning av pannans maximala kapacitet. Examensarbetet har då bestått av att utföra ett prestandaprov samt ett prov för maximal kapacitet. Arbetet har även innefattat att utarbeta en algoritm för att fiktivt beräkna ingående bränslets fukthalt via rökgasparametrar.CFB-pannan är dimensionerad mot en termisk effekt på 98MW, vid en bränslekvalitet på 55 % fukthalt och värmevärdet 7,3 MJ/kg. Vid denna driftpunkt garanterar panntillverkaren Foster Wheeler en verkningsgrad på minst 90,57 %.
