The award-winning Norwegian novelist Karl Ove Knausgård achieved great success with his latest book, Min kamp. Both commercially and critically, the novel was praised for its seemingly successful attempt to transcend the boundary between fiction and real life. Focusing on the auto-fictional narrator?s struggle to balance his daily life with his ever so demanding aesthetic ambitions, the novel gives high-detail descriptions of the most basic day-to-day chores, intimately mixed with philosophical reflections on topics such as painting, literature and postmodern civilisation.This essay proposes an alternative perspective on the realism of the novel. Instead of relying on a correspondence theoretical view, which highlights the level of correspondence of a particular representation with reality, I seek, inspired by Martin Heidegger?s thoughts on works of art, to trace a poetics which sees the verity in a work of art as the ?unconcealment? of the world, or the coming-to-being of objects.

The aim of this thesis is to try to make the mathematics content of textile handicraft visible. This is done through an attempt at integrated studies in the two subjects with 6th grade students.The main question is: In what way may integrated studies in mathematics and textile handicraft lead to making the mathematics content of textile handicraft visible to the students? This question has been divided into three sub-questions: 1. What knowledge do students have on the order of the millimeter, centimeter, decimeter and meter units of length?, 2.

Denna uppsats handlar om hur lärare kan öka elevers lust att lära matematik. Jag undersöker vad som sägs om lust och motivation i skolans styrdokument, samt vad dessa två begrepp egentligen innebär. Vidare har jag tagit reda på vad litteraturen menar är viktigt för elevernas lust.

This essay, Pictures from a death-bed, expands on the pictorial genre called post mortem portraits, a field with long history in the western society. A post mortem portrait is an artwork where the artist paint or photograph the model after her or his dead. My survey delineates to treat two specific pictures, one from the seventeenth century and one from the twentieth century. Both of them are portraits of dead boys on their death-beds, but the first one is a painting and the other one is a photo. By this survey I wanted to find both similarities and differentials between the pictures; if they were made by the same reasons, if you could see anything different between the portraits by children and by the portraits of adults, and finally, if there were any cultural or religious connections between the pictures and their existents.

Due to this proposition, culture is considered a basic human right we all deserve to be provided with. However, there seems to be a lack of strategies in the issue of how to provide our nondependent elderly, suffering age related handicaps and diseases, with this proclaimed necessity.In recent years, there has been a lot of research proving the link between human wellbeing and a stimulating environment.

Printed and painted wallpaper on a weaved fabric backing was a common way to decorate homes in Sweden during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Not much is written about the craftsmanship in relation to the hanging of these wallpapers and even less about the conservation of the objects. Even so, many wall segments remain in situ and in museums and are more often than not in dire need of conservation such as deacidification and consolidation. These are composite objects, consisting of cellulose materials with different properties along with adhesives and paints. Analysis of the materials is required to ensure safe handling and choice of conservation materials, and to establish a treatment plan which will be executed in several steps. This thesis aims to identify these steps and develop a method for conserving the wall segments with suitable materials, preferably without altering the source material to any significant degree.

Sverige är ett mångkulturellt land. Den svenska skolan bör därför utformas på ett sätt som gör att alla oberoende av språklig- eller kulturell bakgrund kan förstå och tillgodogöra sig undervisningen. Elever med utländsk bakgrund klarar sig dock sämre i den svenska skolan än vad elever med svensk bakgrund gör.Uppsatsens syfte är att studera vilka moment, och varför just de upplevs vara svåra inom matematik och so-ämnena för elever med utländsk bakgrund. Vidare undersöks vem som har ansvar för att eleverna ska förstå och ha möjlighet att ta till sig undervisningen och hur gynnsamma förutsättningar kan skapas för eleverna i deras lärandeprocess.Arbetet bygger på en kvantitativ enkätstudie med 338 elever i skolåren 8-9 och en kvalitativ intervjustudie med tre lärare Det framkommer att en dubbelt så hög andel elever med utländsk bakgrund som elever med svensk bakgrund upplever de undersökta matematikmomenten vara svåra och att en dubbelt till nära sexdubbelt så hög andel elever med utländsk bakgrund som svensk bakgrund upplever att de undersökta so-momenten är svåra. Anledningarna till dessa resultat är huvudsakligen att språk och kunskapande går hand i hand, ämnena kräver ett stort ord- och begreppsförråd, god läsförståelse samt stora förkunskaper.Vidare visar studien att alla lärare har ansvar för elever med utländsk bakgrunds lärande men att huvudansvaret för elevernas språklärande ligger på svenska som andraspråksläraren och modersmålsläraren.

Considering that the current technology is constantly improving, it becomes increasingly important to have an efficient logistics in a company to maintain profitability while achieving a competitive business. Efficient logistics may be accomplished by improving the internal materials handling. In this thesis the internal material handling of steel frames has been studied at a factory in Vaggeryd. The goal of this study is to investigate the problems that exist with the current production flow of products and provide suggestions on how it can be developed to reduce unnecessary handling and movement.The study has a deductive approach where the authors has been using literature studies parallel with empirical analyzes conducted at a company to achieve the purpose of the study. Documentation from the company and interviews with staff and observations form the basis for the data collection carried out.

In the fluidized bed furnace at Rönnskärsverken, Skelleftehamn, sulphur-containing ore concentrates are roasted in order to remove about 50% of the sulphur in the incoming ore concentrate. This occurs in order to reach the goal of a matte containing 55% of copper in the following smelting process. At the same time as the ore concentrate is partially roasted pollutions as arsenic, antimony and bismuth are expelled. Earlier made thermodynamic calculations of equilibrium suggested that calcium and magnesium form stable compounds with arsenic and thereby inhibit expellation of arsenic in the fluidized bed furnace, an element that is undesired. The purpose of this thesis work was to gain knowledge of the mechanisms behind the formation of these stable arsenic compounds.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how the authors of Matthew and Luke describe Joseph; The main aim is to see how the picture of him is drawn in the infancy narratives of their respectiveGospels; what unites, and what distinguishes the pictures of the two evangelists' account of Joseph,as a character and as a father.With the help of both textual and grammatical criticism, this study investigates - pericope bypericope - different aspects of Joseph's participation in the infancy narratives of Matthew and Luke; his relationship to the child and the mother, the terms used to describe him, and his overall modusoperandi. This essay builds its structure upon the individual study of each pericope, with the aim of painting a general and summarized picture.From the outset of already formulated uniting characteristics of the two gospels, as stated in Raymond E Brown's The Birth of the Messiah this study proposes that more can be said about the common features of Matthew and Luke, especially concerning Joseph's both character and relationto the child. First, this study suggests that both Matthew and Luke describe Joseph as the legal father of Jesus; second, both evangelists seems to describe Joseph as observant of Jewish law andcustom.The main impression of the two evangelists' birth narratives is however the differencesconcerning the description of Joseph. This study shows that there is one major common feature: the ambivalence evident in the evangelists' way of describing Joseph. On the one hand, both Matthew and Luke prescribe Joseph some importance; Matthew by describing Joseph and letting him act,Luke by calling him father and parent.

Bakgrund: Matematik är fortfarande enligt forskning ett ämne med hög status, men trots detta är det få elever som har förståelse för varför matematik är ett viktigt ämne i skolan, menar Malmer (2002). Eleverna relaterar sällan till att det är ett verktyg för att klara av sin vardag (Malmer,2002). Likaså menar Björklund (2009) att vi inte är uppmärksamma på att matematik till större del omringar vår vardag. Språket är nyckeln till att förstå och kunna arbeta med matematik (Bernstein, 2000; Boaler, 1998 och Wistedt och Martinsson, 1996).Syfte: Syftet i sin helhet handlar om att belysa hur elever resonerar kring sina kunskaper och lärande i ämnet matematik. Studien undersökte, förutom syftet, hur elever kopplar sina kunskaper till vardagssituationer och språkets betydelse för erövrande av matematik.Metod: Vi har gjort en kvalitativ undersökning som har ett kvantitativt underlag.
