The aim of my study is to investigate how last year students in upper secondary schoolunderstand certain mathematical concepts, in particular the unit circle and its trigonometry.I have used intentional analysis to interpret student?s actions when they solve certain tasks onthe basis of a cognitive, situated and cultural context.Interviews with four university teachers in mathematics about the unit circle, trigonometry,and mathematical understanding, serve both as background for the study and as basis for adiscussion, where I relate students understanding to what the teachers want new students toknow about these concepts when they begin university studies in mathematics.The students were arranged in three groups with three students in each group. Each group waspresented with two tasks, one in which they were asked to calculate the cosine values for onepointed, one blunt and one straight angle, each located in a separate triangle. They were alsoasked to decide whether the points (0,71; 0,71) and d (1 2 , 3 2 ) are located on the unit circleor not.My conclusion is that students mainly have an operational conception of the unit circle andtrigonometry. The lack of structural conceptions result in difficulties in seeing connectionsbetween the concepts in unfamiliar situations.

ABSTRACT  I den här uppsatsen ville jag visa hur kryssningspassagerarnas beteende kan beskrivas med hjälp av karnevaleska teorier i reality-programmet ?Färjans? sista säsong. Syftet var att visa hur det finns andra sätt att analysera serien på än enbart med hjälp av medieteoretiker som är kritiska till genre reality-tv som sådan. Jag har velat visa passagerarnas handlingsutrymme i programmet och beskriva hur deras handlingar ombord på båten kan ses som karnevaleska. Jag utgick från antropologiska teorier om karnevalen och det karnevaleska med hjälp av främst Victor Turner och Roberto DaMatta.

Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att kartlägga hur ett tänkbart samband mellan mode och varumärke kan se ut i modeföretag. Metod: En kvalitativ studie med ett abduktivt angreppssätt. Slutsatser: Sambandet mellan mode och marknadsföring i modeföretag är mycket starkt, även om branschen i sig, historiskt sett inte agerat som om så vore fallet. A logical cause of migration is of course immigrants which is a topic always creating discussions. When arriving in a new country a process of integration with the goal to adapt to the environment is started. This study will explore the need for integration and seeks to examine the connection between population composition and radical right opinions.To fulfill the aim, a multivariate regression analysis is done on aggregated level in Sweden with statistics concerning the year of 2010. The relation between ethnic composition and voters support for the Swedish radical right party Sverigedemokraterna is studied as well as integration as an explanatory intermediate factor operationalized through unemployment, financial assistance and trust.The results of the study indicate a positive connection between immigrants from EU/EFTA and the voter support for Sverigedemokraterna. A negative relation is identified between trust and the voter support for Sverigedemokraterna.

I vilken utsträckning uppfattar publiken deltagarna och deras relationer som äkta och verkliga? Hur uppfattar publiken deltagarnas beteende samt agerande i den iscensatta miljön de befinner sig i? Metod och material: Studien är gjord som en kvalitativ publiksstudie där det empiriska materialet består av fyra stycken inledande intervjuer som sedan följs av två fokusgrupper med fyra deltagare i respektive grupp. Materialet transkriberas, kodas och tolkas utifrån Ervin Goffman dramaturgiska perspektiv. Huvudresultat: Efter genomförda fokusgrupper kan slutsatser dras kring den verklighet följare av Paradise Hotel upplever.

With a background in the 17th century?s English political events, but also the ideological scene of that time, the purpose of this essay is to analyze two concepts, freedom and happiness, in Thomas Hobbes?s political writings. Hobbes is well known for his political works, mostly for Leviathan, where his thoughts about government and religion are exposed. But what does he say about freedom? And what about happiness? The study shows that Hobbes?s political thought is quite original from this aspect too.

Syftet med föreliggande studie är att, genom intervjuer med tolv elever ur år fem, undersöka deras uppfattningar om matematik. För att studera detta har vi använt oss av en kvalitativ metod med inspiration av den fenomenografiska ansatsen. Utifrån studiens syfte och frågeställningar har tre temaområden framtagits inom vilka elevernas uppfattningar analyserats och därefter kategoriserats. Ur resultatet framkommer en relativt snäv syn på matematiken där läroboken är dominerande i elevernas uppfattningar. Boken fungerar som utgångspunkt både i definitionen av matematikämnet och vid beskrivningen av hur ämnet upplevs.
