Inkluderande undervisning i matematik : En kvalitativ studie av elevers och lärares uppfattning av inkluderande matematikundervisning i skolår 7 och 8
According to both national and international political regulations, the school should as far as it is possible include students with special needs in regular education. However, when implementing these political intentions regarding an including school environment, problems often arise. The aim of this studie has been to investigate the opinions of teachers and students when it comes to inclusive education in Mathematics. The study has partly been based on interviews with students with special needs in Mathematics. These students were included in regular Mathematics groups.

This research is about different perspectives, offered by three mother tongue teachers, one principal and also featuring a representative from Skolverket, on the subject: teacher legitimation for mother tongue teachers, mother tongue teachers opportunity for competence education and the future of mother tongue education in Sweden.The theoretical framework is mother tongue language, globalization, the post-colonial theory, power and social inequality. A qualitative approach was used including five interviews taken place in Stockholm, the results does not however represent the whole country nor the community of Stockholm itself.The result shows that mother tongue teachers thinks the teacher legitimation does not mean anything regarding their already low-status. Even principal and representative from Skolverket express their concern towards the 'non-demand' for mother tongue teachers to get their legitimation and they feel there is a lack of ambition from decisonmakers to include the mother tongue teachers.As per today there is no higher education for mother tongue teachers leading towards an exam. Mother tongue teachers are worried about their future although principal and representant takes a bright outlook. .
Matematik i förskolan : Ur pedagogers och vårdnadshavares perspektiv
The purpose of this study is to find out how the teachers in preschool work with Mathematics. How educators working to promote children's Mathematics learning and how educators visualize math work. How they plan, implement and document the work of Mathematics. I also want to find out how legal guardians perceive their children's Mathematics learning in preschool.I have chosen to do interviews with the educators and survey legal guardians to make visible the work of Mathematics in kindergarten. I interviewed six teachers who work at both younger and older children department.
Matematik i förskolan : Hur arbetar pedagoger med matematik utomhus på förskolor med olika pedagogiska inriktningar (traditionell, i ur och skur och Reggio Emilia)?
In this essay, I have interviewed four pedagogues from three preschools whit different pedagogical purposes. The purpose was to find out how they work with Mathematics outdoor. In addition to interviews, I have conducted observations at each preschool. The different preschools are one traditional, one Reggio Emilia and one ?all weather? (Friluftsfrämjandet) preschool.
Arbetssätt och arbetsformer i ett matematikprojekt i åk.3 : En studie av arbetssätt och arbetsformers betydelse ur ett specialpedagogiskt perspektiv
Studien är baserad på lärares, specialpedagogers samt projektledares uppfatt-ningar av arbetssätt och arbetsformers betydelse i ett matematikprojekt som bedrivs i åk 3. Syftet med detta arbete är att studera vilka arbetssätt och ar-betsformer som används i ett matematikprojekt för att utveckla elevers ma-tematiska förmåga med fokus på aritmetik, ur ett specialpedagogiskt perspek-tiv. En kvalitativ metod valdes där intervju i grupp, enskild intervju samt in-tervju via e-post med respondenter från tre målgrupper genomfördes. Ana-lysmodellen har konstruerats med begrepp frånAdding it up (Kilpatrick, Swafford & Findell, 2001), KOM-projektet (Niss & Højgaard-Jensen, 2002) samt Visible learning (Hattie, 2009). Vårt resultat visar att lärares, specialpe-dagogers och projektledares uppfattning är att flera faktorer påverkar pro-jektets arbetssätt och arbetsformer där bristen av tid är en betydande faktor.
Betydelse av laborativ matematik i dagens skola
The goal of this study is to gain knowledge and understanding of how a teacher can apply Mathematics with assistance from practical Mathematics. Students? point of view on Mathematics within practical Mathematic lessons will also be examined.
Four teachers from preschool to third grade in primary school were interviewed. 30 students from grades one to three were also surveyed. The study shows that teachers see a major benefit when practical Mathematics is used in the theoretical teachings of Mathematics.

Most of my 16 students show a negative attitude towards Mathematics and have difficulty understanding why they need Mathematics to work as cooks. Their lack of knowledge has a negative effect on their work in the kitchen because they cannot master relatively simple Mathematical solutions. The purpose of this study is to examine if an integrated working method of the subjects Mathematics and cooking can change students? attitude towards Mathematics and increase their understanding of the value of it in restaurant work. An integrated working method means to integrate the core subjects with programme specific subjects and that teaching is directed towards the main features of the vocational programme in order to create a holistic view.A theory of action research has been applied in this study, aiming to change something perceived as problematic through combining theory and practice in the cooking subject.
Sambandet mellan läsförmåga och matematiksvårigheter : fyra pedagogers uppfattningar
Studiens syfte var att undersöka hur lärare ser på sambandet mellan läsförmåga och matematiksvårigheter. Aktuella rapporter visar att elevers läsförmåga har försämrats samtidigt som matematiksvårigheterna har ökat. Viss forskning pekar på ett samband mellan dessa två ämnesområden. En halvstrukturerad intervjumetod med fenomenologisk ansats användes och totalt intervjuades fyra erfarna lärare. De intervjuade hade alla mångårig erfarenhet av elevers läs- skriv- och matematikinlärning i ett brett register från förskoleklass till högskolenivå.
Matematik i förskola : En studie av lek i undervisning
The purpose of my study is to examine how four preschool teachers go about using the term play in children's early Mathematical development. In order to fulfill the purpose of this study, I have the following questions:How the preschool teachers visualize Mathematics in children?s play?What reflections have the preschool teachers about the importance of play for children's Mathematical learning in preschool?How do the preschool teachers see on their own role in the children's play?In this study, I have conducted a semi-structured qualitative interviews based on the interviews with four preschool teachers from various departments in a preschool. I have also conducted some observations to complete my study. Whereas in my analysis of the researched material, I have used Vygotsky's theory.The survey shows that the preschool teachers are aware of the use of Mathematical language and concepts in children?s different activities which were conducted daily in the preschool.
Vaddå matematiksvårigheter : En studie utifrån elevens perspektiv om svårigheter och kritiska moment vid lärandet i matematik
This paper investigates how students in the humanities in four universities in Sweden reflect on their education and the current view on the humanities as an education and a science. I want to investigate what impact the past few years public debate about the humanities have had on the students. What kind of beliefs and identities do the students of the humanities form and how do they discuss the universities, the choices they made in life and how do they feel about the future.This study is based on interviews with seventeen students in Sweden from four different universities. The research is also based upon a report that The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv) published in 2011 and the debate following that report. I have also made participant observations on the four universities to make a broader description for the reader.
Lusten till matematik : En studie om hur elever kan utveckla lusten och motivationen till matematik genom olika arbetsätt
The purpose of this study is to compare different ways to teach Mathematics in the school's lower age groups, and to examine whether certain practices increase students' desire and motivation to learn the subject. The questions used to determine the purpose is the following: What vision has the students in the class at maths? How does the teaching of Mathematics in the class look like?What vision has the students in the class at working with different approaches in education?Does the traditional approach and the options that I am examining meet the steering documents requirements? The essay is organized as a qualitative study. The study was conducted in an elementary school in Sweden, third grade. The methods used included interviews with students and observations in the classroom.
Svenska elevers sjunkande matematikkunskaper : möjliga orsaker och framtida insatser
National and international studies, such as PISA and TIMSS, which are part of the national evaluation system, are carried out continuosly. Skolverket, in collaboration with researchers, are responsible for the implementation, evaluation, and analysis of the studies. National results show an increasing percentage of pupils who do not reach the goals in Mathematics. The last completed international studies PISA 2009 and TIMSS 2007 show an impaired trend of knowledge, in international comparison. Moreover, studies also show that the differences between schools and also within the same school in Sweden have increased.

Lust till matematik - en rättighet eller bara några få förunnat?
Denna studie är genomfört som ett undervisningsförsök, där formativ bedömning har implementerats i matematikundervisning. Syftet med studien var att studera om det var möjligt att förändra undervisningen på denna korta tid samt om eleverna blev mer motiverade och om de upplevde mer lust till ämnet genom denna undervisningsstrategi. Ett särskilt fokus riktades på elever i matematiksvårigheter. Studien genomfördes i en årskurs 7:a, under höstterminen 2009, med inspiration Wiliam, (2007) Five ?Key Strategies? for Effective Assessmentutifrån och Black et al. (2003), Assessment for Learning ? Putting it into practice.
Elevers koncentrationsförmåga under matematiklektioner på förmiddagar och eftermiddagar
This project has aim to examine how students experience their concentration ability during Mathematics lessons in the mornings and afternoons, and how students? learning can be in-fluenced by the concentration ability during Mathematics lesson in the morning and after-noons respectively? Which role do the methods of learning play in Mathematic depending on which time it is carried out during mornings or afternoons with regard to student concentra-tion ability? In order to find out those issues, I used two methods; (interview and observa-tion).Interview with 4 students and 3 teachers and observations of 4 Mathematics lessons based on a qualitative method. In order to measure students' concentration ability during ma-thematics education on various times, I distributed questions to 23 students and repeated it during each lesson that I have observed from a quantitative approach in two classes in a sec-ondary school. In the literature I discuss the definition of concentration, and factors affecting the concentration negatively and positively. What is the relationship between concentration, learning and type of activity and how individuals can improve their learning and attention? In addition I studied two earlier studies on the concentration.
