Integrering av ett främmande språk i matematikundervisningen

Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is a relatively new method for learning a foreign language. CLIL programs are growing in popularity and more and more schools are adopting it all around the world. There is still no special education for the teachers working with CLIL, though research suggests it may be an effective method for achieving good results.To get a realistic view of the work of a CLIL teacher, I have interviewed four different mathematic teachers who work at CLIL international schools in Spain with English as the foreign language. I have compared their methods and experiences with the main ideas of current research in this particular field.The survey shows that the teachers? views about how CLIL is to be used do not completely correspond to that of the research.

Datorprogram i skolmiljö : en utvald grundskola som fallstudie

In this thesis I'm trying to investigate how good educational computer programs work in elementary school. I delimited the study to contain one elementary school in the stages of 6 to 9. The method I used was qualitative and the approach was inductive. I interviewed four teachers and five pupils as the way to collect data for the study. The theories I used were parts from different books with authors, which have done similar studies and researches.

This master thesis is commissioned by Permobil AB. The report describes thoroughly the developing process of an adjustable backrest for wheelchairs. The target group for the backrest are people that suffer from scoliosis or other spinal diseases. Because of insufficient pressure distribution usage of traditional backrests is not an option for them.The current solution has got a frame that is made by several adjustable links that is held in place by friction. En klasslärares och en svenska som andraspråkslärares kommunikationsstrategier i ett flerspråkigt klassrum : En jämförande studie

The purpose of this essay is to illuminate two teachers? communication strategies when dealing with pupils with another first language than Swedish. One of the teachers teaches Swedish as a second language and the other teacher educates one class in most of the subjects such as mathematic, Swedish and social studies. I make an ethnographic study where I make non-participating observations and shorter interviews with the teachers. The observations lie in focus of my study and were made at eight occasions, four lessons with each teacher.My result shows that they have a lot of communication strategies in common, but not all.

Framgångsrika åtgärdsprogram : En systematisk litteraturstudie som kartlägger faktorer som kan öka måluppfyllelsen i åtgärdsprogramsprocessen i matematik.

Dokumentationsformen åtgärdsprogram får utstå en hel del kritik både från tidigare forskning och från media vad gäller innehåll och utformning. Åtgärdsprogram ska skrivas när det misstänks att en elev inte når aktuella kunskapskrav. Då blir det därför viktigt i ett ämne som matematik som har en relativt hög andel underkända elever att åtgärdsprogramsprocessen fungerar väl. Denna systematiska litteraturstudies syfte är att kartlägga/identifiera eventuella faktorer som kan öka måluppfyllelsen i åtgärdsprogramprocessen i ämnet matematik. Det resultat och slutsatser denna studie kommer fram till är att det är ett antal olika faktorer som måste samspela för att åtgärdsprogramsprocessen i matematik skall falla väl ut.

Practice of mathematical proof increase the understanding of mathematics anddevelop creativity skills, problem solving, communication, logical thinking andreasoning which are all important tools not only within the subject of mathematicsbut also important tools for the society in which we are living. The aim of this projectwas to investigate whether it is accurate that proof and proving has a subordinate rolein mathematic education in the upper secondary school in Sweden. This was done byconstructing of a digital survey that was sent to approximately 100 practicingmathematics teachers in a normal size city located in the middle of Sweden. Theresults of the survey show that the teachers consider themselves comfortable withtheir own skills in teaching proof. Paradoxically, the results also show that there is alack of teaching of proof and proving in the upper secondary school, although the newcurriculum puts more focus on proof and proving..

Kan man räkna till 100, kan man mycket : Barns tankar, funderingar och förståelse kring matematik

This study was designed to describe and understand how children perceive and explain mathematical situations. During our work based training we have met several students who have been insecure in the subject of mathematics and therefore come to think that it's difficult and boring. The questions we have asked ourselves are why and how this insecurity occurs. In preschools around the country teachers actively worked to create opportunities for children to meet and discover mathematics. The question is whether the teachers are aware of how children perceive mathematics and how children think in mathematical situations. We chose to conduct a qualitative study using different methods of data collecting in order to approach the children's world.

Landskapsplanering och konnektivitetsförbättringar inom värdetrakter i Västerbottens län :

According to the Swedish strategy for forest protection, additionally 40 000 ha productive forestland will be protected in the county of Västerbotten, between 1999 and 2010. A national project was carried out to distinguish the proportion of forest with a high biological value, in all counties. The project resulted in demarcation of small landscape areas or small ?biological value regions? (bvr), with higher concentrations of forests with conservation values and red listed species than the surroundings. In Västerbotten, 26 such bvr?s were identified and the Counties Agency and Forest Agency in Västerbotten developed a regional strategy for forest conservation to standardize the forest protection process.

Hur elevers attityd till matematiken för-håller sig i skolår 2, 4 och 6 samt om de skiljer sig åt?

Målet med vårt examensarbete var att ta reda på vad elever i grundskolans tidigare år har för attityd till matematik. Vi ville även veta varför och hur attityden förändras, om den förändras genom åren. Som bakgrund till undersökningen har vi använt oss av litte-ratur som handlar om elevers attityd och motivation till matematik. För att ta reda på vår problemställning besökte vi två olika skolor i södra Sverige där vi gjorde observationer och eleverna fick besvara enkäter. När vi sedan sammanställde resultaten och analyse-rade dem jämförde vi de svaren vi fått in genom våra enkäter med det vi såg när vi ob-serverade, samt de teorier vi använt oss av.

Syftet med min studie har varit att undersöka om fritidshemmet kan utgöra en matematisk lärandemiljö. Jag har studerat vilka aktiviteter som kan eller skulle kunna bidra till att barn utvecklar grundläggande matematiska kunskaper. Systematiskt kvalitetsarbete i matematik : En kvalitativ fallstudie om pedagogers erfarenheter och uppfattningar av matematikplaner ur ett SUM-perspektiv

Svenska elevers låga matematikresultat i internationella jämförelser vittnar om att det krävs förändring i skolans matematikundervisning. Vissa skolor/kommuner har utvecklat matematikplaner i syfte att höja måluppfyllelsen. Syftet med studien är att få insikt i två av dessa matematikplaner och pedagogers tankar om hur de används och gynnar SUM-elever. I den teoretiska bakgrunden belyses Bedömning, God undervisning och Samverkan kopplat till Systematiskt kvalitetsarbete, och i relation till SUM-elever, vilka är i fokus. Studien har en kvalitativ ansats och är en fallstudie av två matematikplaner och hur de används. Gruppintervjuer valdes som datainsamlingsmetod. Resultatet visar att användandet av matematikplanerna och konsekvenserna av dem är relativt lika trots olikheterna i deras innehåll.

Kognitionsforskning i djurhållningen: grisars kognition och dess tillämpning vid slaktsvinshållning

Pigs are often mentioned as relatively intelligent animals when compared to other nonhuman species. Despite this knowledge, the vast majority of pigs are kept under conditions that lack opportunities to satisfy their cognitive needs. Therefore, a need to evaluate the present scientific studies about pig cognition was acknowledged, in order to evaluate to what extent the knowledge is applied in the husbandry of finishing pigs. If a considerable lack of application was determined, suggestions about how to use the obtained information to improve pig welfare were also to be made. A synthesis of the present literature was made, and it could be concluded that a considerable amount of studies had been carried out in the present area. The pigs of today appear to have the same behavioural and cognitive needs as their ancestor, the wild boar.
