Matematik genom lek : en undersökning om barns matematikinlärning på två förskolor

The purpose of this study is to investigate the children?s Mathematics learning through play. The questions to be answered are: how can teachers facilitate children?s Mathematics learning through play? How can play affect children?s Math learning? Are the children aware of the role of play in their Mathematics learning?My method is based on interviews and observations. My informants are three teachers who work in two different preschools.

Matematikverkstad : hur kan lärare och elever arbeta där?

The starting point of this work has been to get knowledge about teachers working in a Mathematical workshop with the students. I also wanted to investigate what students think about Math, both within the workshop and in traditional teaching.To achieve this I chose to interview a teacher in charge within the framework of a Mathematical workshop, and six students in the 5th grade. I also did a lesson observation with the purpose to see how well the teacher?s tutoring agrees with the results of the interview.In this study I have discovered that the lessons in the Mathematical workshop are planned after what the students are working with in the textbook. The teacher opens the lessons with the whole class and then splits it up in groups.

In my essay, we get to meet Olle who goes in first class. The essay takes off after school and when recreational activities have started. Olle comes running towards me to ask for help, he has gotten into trouble with three classmates and he feels unfairly treated. A true classic or normal event, which I think takes place in most schools. What I am interested in examining is how my feelings affect the whole course of events in the conflict arising.

Matematikundervisningen kritiseras från flera håll i Sverige, detta är något som märks ute på skolorna. Har vi förändrat undervisningen ute på våra skolor eller är det helt andra faktorer som har påverkat. Är det så att en ny metod skulle behövas för att kunna förbättra samt höja prestationerna hos våra elever. I USA finns det en skola som heter Morningside som använder sig av en form av drillmetod i sin undervisning. Vi kommer att studera denna metods första implementering i Sverige till största del genom observationer och intervjuer.

Sjuksköterskans attityd till att vårda patienter med psykisk sjukdom i den somatiska vården

De psykiskt sjuka tar allt större plats inom den somatiska sjukvården men forskningsfältet är nytt och kunskapsluckor existerar. En systematisk litteraturstudie gjordes. Litteraturstudiens syfte var att belysa sjuksköterskans attityd till att vårda patienter med psykisk sjukdom i den somatiska vården.En databassökning har gjorts i fyra databaser med omvårdnadsfokus: Cinahl, Pubmed och PsycInfo. Sex studier inkluderades. Ur dessa har utkristalliserats tre återkommande teman: attityder som avspeglar sjuksköterskans erfarenheter, vårdmiljöns betydelse på sjuksköterskans attityder och utbildningens betydelse för sjuksköterskans attityder.En stor mängd negativa attityder existerar men även en del positiva, ofta knutet till sjuksköterskan personliga attityder.

Värdering av prestation och riskbeteende i ung ålder : Finns det ett samband?

This paper is a study how students at a high school in Falun, Sweden, estimates theirperformance in an upcoming Math test which is then compared with the actual grade thestudent performed. The students who participated also answered questions related to ?risksituations? to examine whether there is a correlation between how students estimate theirperformance in the context and their risk behavior, and if the students act like economicmodels assume. In agreement with previous studies, the boys in the survey tended to beoverconfident in their performance. The girls in the study were neither over- norunderconfident in her performance and no significant difference in the estimation of one'sperformance between the sexes could be proven.

Självkänsla och motivation : En studie kring gymnasieelevers självkänsla och motivation inom ämnet matematik

The objective of this study was to bring further knowledge to the subject as to what influences students motivation and self-esteem. The study had focus on role that the teachers play in these aspects. The study was done by using both a qualitative and quantitative approach. The qualitative method was interviews based on six interviews with two teachers and four students from two different classes. The quantitative method was a questionnaire study that was done in both classes.

Algebra in school, - a study on students` algebraic knowledge of the field equations in ninth grade.International (TIMSS) and national Mathematics studies detects that Swedish pupils Math skills is deteriorating in comparison to other countries. Therefore has the subject of Mathematics become one of the school subjects which are becoming increasingly in focus. The government has made a big effort, Matematiklyftet, in Mathematics in primary education, 650 million has been invested and the Agency has been tasked to train all current Mathematics teachers through peer collegial learning. This effort is the most pervasive in modern times in Sweden.The aim of this study is that we as prospective Mathematics teachers want to find our approach to surveys results. By using the Governments? diagnoses, Diamant, student group interviews, teacher interviews and theories in Mathematics education, we want to make students' algebraic knowledge of the field equations visible.

Sen så kommer den och förklarar vid bänken; alltså bara för mig : Om elevers upplevelser av stöd och hjälp i matematik

The study's purpose is to describe students' experiences of help and support in Mathematics. To investigate this, I adopted the questions: What does it mean, according to the students, to get "help and support in Mathematics?" Are there differences in the description of help and support depending on the age of the students? What different kinds of help and support do students feel that they get from their Math teachers? What different kinds of help and support would they like to have? The study is based on a qualitative method, group interviews, with three groups of students, one from each stage of primary school in one municipality in Sweden. The students were at the time of the interview in grade 3, 5 and 8. The interviews were analysed from a sociocultural perspective. The results show that what the students primarily consider as the meaning of help and support it is to get individual support from their teacher.

This report presents the initaitvies made by teachers in form of questions during four lessons in a highschool class. A class in senior highschool was filmed during six hours with four different teachers. The number of questions and other initiatives were counted. The dialogue was transcribed with CA regarding examples from questioning and dialogue. The study examined how many closed(open and rhetorical questions the teacher initiate.

The purpose of this study is to provide a description of how Mathematics teachers in grades 3 choose to work with Mathematics and how it affects of student performance in national tests. The categories I will use are outdoor education, textbooks, learning materials and problem solving. Laboratory materials can be everyday materials and educational materials in which pupils have an abstract understanding of the subject. This survey was conducted through interviews and observations. The survey was also conducted in relation to student performance in national Math tests.

The purpose of this study is to find out how the teachers in preschool work with Mathematics. How educators working to promote children's Mathematics learning and how educators visualize Math work. How they plan, implement and document the work of Mathematics. I also want to find out how legal guardians perceive their children's Mathematics learning in preschool.I have chosen to do interviews with the educators and survey legal guardians to make visible the work of Mathematics in kindergarten. I interviewed six teachers who work at both younger and older children department.

The aim of this study has been to investigate students? understanding of fractions when they occur in the practical subject home economics. In order to investigate this, the learning study method was used. Learning study can be understood as a method to gain deeper understanding of what is learnt by students during a lesson to increase learning outcome.The variation theory framework has been utilized to analyze the results of this study. The object of learning was chosen to be addition of fractions bigger than one half when they appear in home economics.

Denna uppsats har som syfte att ta reda på hur pedagoger i skolan planerar och genomför sin undervisning i matematik. Utgår pedagogen från elevens erfarenheter och tankar eller utgår pedagogen endast från ?matteboken? när de planerar och genomför undervisningen? I uppsatsen kommer vi att undersöka vilket material som främst används i undervisningen och vad det är som påverkar pedagogernas val av material och hur de planerar sin undervisning så att den blir så lustfylld så möjligt? Till vår undersökning har vi valt att intervjua pedagoger på två olika skolor i södra Sverige. Antalet intervjuer blev totalt fem stycken.

Konsten att skrämmas : En studie om estetiska element i Friday the 13th part II och andra slashers

Swedish students' knowledge of both Mathematics and reading comprehension has deteriorated in recent years. Scientists are discussing whether there is a connection between these areas and that the pupils deteriorating Math skills may have something to do with their increasingly lower results in terms of reading comprehension. To investigate this possible connection, I conducted a survey among students in ninth grade and have come to the conclusion that the scientists are right: this connection absolutely exist. Students who received a high score on tasks designed to test students' Mathematical problem-solving skills, also received high results on the reading comprehension test. And students who received a poor performance on the problem-solving tasks, were also low performers in the reading comprehension test.
