The main aim was to investigate the provenance of Viking age antler material findings of moose and red deer from Sigtuna and from three sites on the island of Gotland in the Baltic sea. This was done by analysis of the stable isotopes of carbon, nitrogen and sulphur. Thre were never any living population of these mammals on Gotland during the Viking age.?34S-values of sulphur from this study was compared with earlier research and by studying maps of the Swedish bedrock. The ?34S-values were more like the ?34S-value for bedrock other than European granite.

This report deals with issues related to construction waste. Building material that has not been built into the project is defined as construction waste. Cost of construction waste amounts to 4-12 % of the total cost of the project. Moreover, cost of construction waste is 1-3 % of the production cost. The aim of this study is to increase knowledge about the main causes of waste within the construction industry.

Through certain exceptions in the Swedish regulation on credit agreements for consumers, a new form of instrument for credits has arisen on the national market. The instrument, which is most commonly known as easy credits and was first seen on the Swedish market for consumer credits in 2006, has developed to become part of a vast problem with excessive debt incursion. In order to counteract this development and to harmonise the internal market within the EU, directive 2008/48 EC on credit agreements for consumers was introduced in 2008. In Sweden, the implementation of the directive has led to a proposition for a new regulation on credit agreements for consumers (SFS 2009/10:242 Ny konsumentkreditlag) coming into effect on the 1 January 2011. The proposition puts up stricter rules on creditors granting consumer credits in their course of business, and revokes the former exemption on information and practices preliminary to the conclusion of the credit agreement for minor credits.

The aim of this master?s thesis is to investigate a possible connection between the development of mobile library services in Sweden and the development of cultural policy during 1945-2006. Our main question is: is there a connection between the development of the mobile library services in Sweden, as described in Biblioteksbladet, and the development of cultural policy as portrayed by Anders Frenander and Dorte Skot-Hansen? In order to answer this question, we formulated two secondary questions: - How are the mobile library services described in Biblioteksbladet between 1945 and 2006? - Are there any similarities or dissimilarities between the development of the mobile library services and the development cultural policy as described in our theoretical models? If so, in what way? Our study covers the entire time period since the start of the mobile library services in Sweden in the late 1940s. The final year for our investigation is 2006.

The aim of this study is to examine the historical information about women?s libraries and book ownership during the early modern period in the work of Carl Magnus Carlander, Svenska bibliotek och ex-libris [Swedish libraries and ex-libris] (1904) and to inquire the scientific value of the information. I dagens samhälle har internet och Facebook blivit allt mer utbrett vilket fångat vårt intresse med avseende på hur individer väljer att framställa sig själva där. Vi har i denna uppsats med hjälp av en deduktiv ansats tolkat och analyserat män och kvinnors självpresentationer på Facebook. I analysarbetet har teorier som behandlar självpresentation används, liksom teorier gällande genus, normer samt identitet. Intervjuer med tre män och tre kvinnor har utförts. Fokus har legat på vad de väljer att visa eller inte visa på sina facebookprofiler samt vad det är som styr dessa val.

The purpose of this essay has been to seek understanding of how young people in high school and adult education experience the use of educational media tools in teaching. Examples of questions submitted material has been: What are the positive and negative experiences of ICT in the classroom?The essay is of a qualitative nature, in which five students were interviewed about their experiences of ICT in the school environment. The result is analyzed from a sociocultural perspective and from an inward-student perspective.The results showed that students felt that it was difficult to absorb many of the ICT facilities as sources of knowledge in the school environment. Detta examensarbete har genomförts med anledning av att Norrvatten har önskemål om att få en rapport om de material som används i deras vattenledningsnät med fokus på typiska skador kopplade till ett specifikt material eller tillverkningsmetod. Det har framkommit indikationer om att kunskapen om rörmaterial och dess egenskaper med tiden har försämrats då den äldre generationens projektörer efterlämnat en kunskapslucka efter sig.Syftet med rapporten är att ge en god överblick av materialen i Norrvattens ledningsnät. Det krävs kunskap om materialen för att analysera sambandet mellan läckningsstatistik och materialets egenskaper.Informationshalten varierar mellan de olika materialen. Detta beror framförallt på materialets uppbyggnad och svårighetshalten att redovisa en klar och rättvis bild över dem. Materialen och dess information är uppdelade i kapitel för att underlätta för läsaren att på ett enkelt sätt förstå sammanhangen.Ett annat viktigt kapitel i denna rapport är beskrivningen över de anläggningsmetoder som valdes att tas med, dels markförlagda ledningar men också två schaktfria metoder vilka är infodring och rörspräckning.

The purpose of this research has been to find out whether and how teachers stimulate and motivate well achievers in the elementary school to reach a higher level. To gather information I visited two different schools within the same county in Stockholm and on each school I met and interviewed with two teachers. The answers received from these interviews are presented in this study as my results. I found that the teachers feel that students that do well in the classroom many times work as role models for the other students. Often these students require extra material as they usually finish their workload ahead of others.

The aim of this thesis is to explore and outline the cataloguing of sound recordings at two main Swedish audiovisual archives, The National Archive of Recorded Sound and Moving Images Statens ljud- och bildarkiv, SLBA and The Grammophone Record Archive of the Swedish Radio Sveriges Radios grammofonarkiv and its data base GAMBA. As non-book, non-printed, material in many ways differs from printed material, the institutions that deal with this kind of material have often developed their own rules for the cataloguing of it. The general codes for cataloguing, AACR2 and KRS, are insufficiently suited for audiovisual material. That is the reason why the IASA Cataloguing Rules, presented in this thesis, have been created. After the presentation of the IASA rules the problems of accounting for important sections of the catalogue record are discussed such as title, statement of respeonsbility, performers, physical description and notes.

Mainly focusing on the big picture regarding the research concerning the religious sphere in Bronze Age Scandinavia, the research field has been missing out on the smaller picture. The results have a tendency to produce a picture where the big landscape monuments, social structures and cosmology appear in the foreground. Pedagoger har stora mängder av material att välja på, och vi undersöker varför pedagogerna väljer som de gör. Genom att intervjua och samtala med ett antal verksamma pedagoger och utbildare av pedagoger på lärarutbildningen i Malmö så skapar vi en bild av de förutsättningar läsinlärningen har idag, relaterat till dessa yrkesområden. Nya styrdokument samt en ny lärarutbildning ger förändrade förutsättningar för lärande. Vårt resultat visar att oberoende av utbildning så rådfrågar aktiva pedagoger i första hand sina kollegor när det gäller didaktiska val och val av material, men ingen pedagog menar att detta är ett problem..
