Tyr ? A historical and comparative study of configurations and formations connected to the Old Norse god Tyr. Klas af Edholm This thesis has two aims. One is a discussion of the history of the study of Old Norse religion and related aspects, centered on how general tendencies within the area of research have affected the interpretations of the god *T?waz/Tyr.

I mitt examensarbete har jag undersökt om det lämpar sig att använda en manuell metod för att skapa normal maps till icke-organiska polygonmodeller avsedda för datorspel. Jag har använt mig av Photoshop för att måla normal maps som jag sedan applicerar på lågdetaljerade modeller jag skapat, för att höja detaljgraden avsevärt. Då icke-organisk modellering inbegriper modeller som ska representera hårda ytor, och därmed inte animeras med deformation, så antog jag att denna metod skulle lämpa sig väldigt väl åt dessa ytor som ofta har extremt mjuka former och precisa vassare kanter. Min metod har varit att studera litteratur om Normal Mapping och hur man använder Photoshop för detta. Jag har sedan utfört praktiskt arbete för att utvärdera hur effektiv metoden är samt vilka fördelar den bidrar med. Jag går igenom teori för normal mapping som jag stödjer med hjälp av faktatexter och instruktions-DVDer i ämnet för att sedan redovisa metoden jag använt i mitt arbete. Jag avslutar sedan med en diskussion kring mitt resultat och redovisar vad jag kommit fram till genom mina experiment. Jag kommer fram till att Normal Mapping med Photoshop är mycket väl lämpat åt hårda ytor och även bidrar med optimeringar i arbetsflödet både vad gäller organisering, tidsåtgång samt kontroll över resultatet.

Equestrianism is a big sport in Sweden with many practitioners. It is a dangerous sport and it is important for the rider to be aware of the risks, to study equine ethology and know how to handle the horse, to avoid accidents. Today most people have their first contact with a horse through a horseback riding school. Ölmstad rid- och körsällskap is a riding school that provides their pupils with a different kind of lessons. The lessons are 90 minutes long and contain both riding and horse-knowledge education.

This thesis deals with oval brooches from the Viking age. The aim of the study is twofold; the first goal is to identify and categorize the brooches according to an already existent scheme, created by two scholars on the subject. This has been accomplished in order establish a separate scheme for this particular material, which consists of two intact and 101 fragments of oval brooches, from Uppåkra in Sweden The other part of the analysis intends to ascertain to what degree it is possible to compare the material with other oval brooches found in Scandinavia, which theories exist about their disappearance and what the most plausible reason for this is..

Anodisering är en ytbehandlingsteknik på frammarsch som ständigt bryter nya banor såväl inom industrin som hos den småskaliga utövaren. I den här uppsatsen ges en bild av hur en smyckesmed och en industri förhåller sig till ytbehandlingstekniken idag. Det är en jämförelse utifrån en historisk kontext om industrialiseringens framfart och samarbete branscherna emellan. Anodisering är en ytbehandlingsteknik som förstärker aluminiumet funktionellt och/eller estetiskt. Uppsatsen är av kvalitativ natur där material hämtats in för tolkning.

Detta examensarbete är utfört på Möbelsnickeriprogrammet på Carl Malmsten - Centrum för Träteknik och Design i Stockholm. Om man som Möbelsnickare har ambitionen att utveckla och förnya hantverket är det nödvändigt att ha kunskap och kännedom om historiens hantverkstekniker och material. Intarsia, att med tunna träfaner skapa dekorativa mönster och motiv på möbler, är ett typexempel på en sådan teknik.I historien var det genom intarsian som tekniken att färga faner utvecklades. Vilka metoder och material använde man sig av förr? Hur kan en genomfärgningsprocess se ut idag? Hur kan genomfärgat material användas i ett modernt sammanhang? Kan genomfärgat faner vara ett verktyg för att utveckla intarsian och skapa något nytt inom möbelhantverket? Dessa är en del av de frågor som hanteras i rapporten.Syftet med examensarbetet är att undersöka vilken metod och vilka material som är mest lämpliga för att genomfärga faner i mindre skala.

The construction industry can contribute to a healthier sustainable community. A development that is going on right now is by using more prefabricated volume- and plan elements on the construction sites. Building with this method not only provides a benefit to the environment, but also reduces production rates by taking up to 80 percent less time to build. By building in this way it will be easier to recycle and keep all the material that otherwise would go to waste. For many years, the construction industry in Sweden has not developed much of an integral approach for design across disciplines. The sector?s impact on society, economics and environment is huge. To make the interactions within the construction industry more efficient, a relatively new concept called BIM (Building Information Modeling) has been introduced. The idea with BIM is that the different actors of the construction industry will work through intelligent CAD software, with common file formats and more cooperation between different actors during the various steps of the building and construction process.The technical consultancy company WSP Sweden is working actively to implement BIM within the frame of its activities.

The purpose of this work is to explore the artistic processes of an ensemble where a musician and one or more dancers play together, either by improvising or by interpreting music that is written for the ensemble. The main themes are about finding ways to work with written material and still keep the communication between the music and the dance alive. The author is also interested in finding ways of identifying himself in the medium of dance although he is a musician. The freshwater pearl mussel Margaritifera margaritifera is an endangered species. To survive, the young mussels demand a fairly coarse bottom material containing an appropriate quantity of organic substrate to survive without suffocating. In order to estimate if a bottom is suitable for juvenile mussels, samples of the sediment are needed. To obtain samples a sampling device called the Mulv collector has been developed within this project. Bottom samples were collected from 18 stations in 4 south Swedish streams, Vramsån, Kling-storpsbäcken, Brönnestadsån and Bräkneån.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka hur lärare arbetar med laborativa inslag i sin matematikundervisning under skolår F-6. Den inledande frågeställningen är vad laborativ matematik innebär. Vidare har jag undersökt hur lärare arbetar med laborativa inslag och vilken betydelse ett laborativt arbetssätt har för lärandet.Resultatet av litteraturstudien riktar sig till frågan vad laborativ matematik är och vilken betydelse det laborativa arbetssättet har för lärandet. Här finns även en beskrivning av det laborativa arbetssättets utveckling i historiskt perspektiv samt tre olika laborativa material som jag har kommit i kontakt med under min utbildning till lärare. Litteraturen visar att laborativ matematik är när eleverna får göra något med sina händer och sina kroppar.

For nearly twenty years people have been talking about Product models, but given that the building industry is so conservative, it is hard to implement new working methods. Product models are these days known as Building Information Modeling, BIM. People often say they work with BIM but they often forget the most important part, the information. A 3D model should be linked with characteristics and information. Information that can be invaluable for the facility manager.We have a vision that in the best of worlds the facility manager would be able to "walk" into the model and see what kind of installations are inside the wall or in the roof.

The purpose of this thesis was to investigate whether publiclibraries language cafés can support or enable the empowerment of the participants. Empowerment means that the individuals ability to take control of their own lives is strengthened and that the individual becomes more independent. Empowerment also means that the individual takes part in a community. An important part of this is the language. I have developed two research questions: What forms of empowerment can be seen in the respondents' statements? What role do language cafés play for people from other countries, in terms of empowerment? The thesis empirical material consists of interviews whit five people involved in different languages cafes in public libraries in the city of Malmö.

The aim of the study is to examine a book used as level-based teaching material, Denmagiska kulan (Wänblad, 2011), to analyse the progression within and between thedifferent levels, A, B and C, intended for use in grade 1. The material is designed so thatpupils at different levels in their reading development can share the same literature.Another aim is to study the connection between illustrations and text. This literaturestudy is based on both a qualitative and a quantitative method of analysis. Thequalitative method applies a readability analysis with the focus on the graphic form andthe language of the text. The quantitative method measures the LIX (readability index)of the texts.
