Background: Home health care means that patients receive care in their home. Äldrevårdsenheten in Uppsala County treats people, over 65 years, in the patient's home and because of the fact that the quality of care from the patient´s perspective not have been studied previously, this study as part of the quality control of the business.Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate how patients, and family members, who receive care within the Äldrevårdsenheten in Uppsala County experiencing the care provided in the home.Method: Interview study with qualitative analysis.Results: Patients who are cared for within the Elderly Care Unit in Uppsala County Council has a positive experience of home care. Being cared for in the home creates a sense of security and calm in the patients rather than the stress and fear of long waits in the emergency department and planning advice from medical appointments . In contrast, perceived lack of physicians in home care and accessibility to health care staff.Conclusion: In general, patients in the Elderly Care Unit in Uppsala County Council very pleased with the opportunity to the treatment they received at home. However, there are some weaknesses that need improvement. .

Volvo Cars in Skövde manufacture and assemble Volvo engines. When attaching the ignition coil to all 4-cylinder engines, a special mounting tool is required. This mounting tool is currently manufactured from injection-molded polyoxymethylene (POM), a thermoplastic. It has been noted that the life span of the tool is shortened as a result of abrasive wear that occurs during the attachment process of the ignition coil.An investigation of the possibility of manufacturing the mounting tool with a 3D-printer is undertaken in cooperation with ÅF, a consultant to Volvo Cars. A literature study is first presented to introduce broader knowledge on the subject.

The aim of this thesis was to use qualitative approaches to show how teachers in primary school reason on their way to meet and communicate with children who have ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder). Research questions of the study were as follows: How does teachers in primary school reason about their way to communicate with children with ADHD? Do the teachers use some specific methods or means of communication with students who have ADHD? Do the teachers reason about their way how to handle conflicts with students who have ADHD? I collected my empirical material through a qualitative interview method. My theoretical starting points were interaction theory and the socio-cultural perspective. I have used these theories to analyze my material.

The construction industry has not undergone the same logistical development as the manufacturing industry; this, in combination with increased material price, leads to the fact that the construction industry must be improved. This master thesis is a part of the research cooperation Brains & Bricks goal of reducing production costs for the construction sector by 25 percent. Brains & Bricks is a cooperation between Linköping University, Peab and Katrineholms municipality. The master thesis aims to identify improvements in the flow of material, the Supply chain operation reference, SCOR, model has been used and the work has been carried out on one of Peab?s construction sites. At present the business is characterized by bad communication both between the construction site and the office as well as between the construction site and suppliers.

Studien är en kvalitativ undersökning som bygger på guidade rundvandringar och intervjuer med sex pedagoger från tre olika förskolor, både på småbarnsavdelningar och på syskonavdelningar. Syftet med studien var att undersöka vilken betydelse pedagoger tillmäter inomhusmiljöns utformning i förskolan med avseende på barns tillgångar till material och aktiviteter för sin utveckling och sitt lärande. Kunskapsöversikten redogör för ett historiskt perspektiv om hur förskolans inomhusmiljö har utvecklats och exempel ges på pedagogiska influenser som förskolorna kan ta idéer ifrån. Den belyser även miljöaspekten utifrån olika styrdokument och litteratur. Resultatet visar på att förskolornas inomhusmiljö har en fast objektiv miljö som utformas utifrån de resurser som finns tillgängliga för att få den subjektiva miljön i verksamheten.

Vi har i den här uppsatsen fokuserat på hur Informations- och KommunikationsTeknik (IKT) kan användas av pedagoger i en förskoleklass. Syftet har varit att undersöka hur IKT används samt göra en inventering av IKT-relaterat material. För att få svar på våra frågeställningar har vi använt oss av en kvalitativ metod genom observation, fotografering samt intervju. Vi utförde vår empiriska undersökning i en förskoleklass där det arbetade två pedagoger. Efter vår inventering blev pedagogerna förvånade över att de hade så mycket IKT-relaterat material i klassrummet.

Denna rapport beskriver utvecklingen av en kontorsarbetsplats för framtiden. Projektet utfördes som ett examensarbete inom integrerad produktutveckling vid Högskolan i Skövde under vårterminen 2011 i samarbete med Götene Specialinredningar.Götene Specialinredningar produktionsanpassar och tillverkar möbler som är specialdesignade av en arkitekt på uppdrag av en beställare. Kontorsmöbelbranschen har fastnat i ett tänk och de flesta möbler ser likadana ut, har samma funktioner och samma material.  Företaget vill därför få en ny syn på hur ett kontor kan vara i framtiden.Arbetet inleddes med förstudier för att få information om användning, ergonomi och material. Från förstudien erhölls krav som slutkonceptet skulle uppfylla. Det bestämdes att arbetet skulle rikta sig till öppna kontorslandskap eftersom det är det som används mest av företagets kunder.

I detta examensarbete diskuteras huruvida barnprogram kan vara lärande för förskolebarn och vilka möjligheter det finns att använda barnprogram som material för lärande i förskolan. Undersökningen syftar till att uppmärksamma barnprogram ur ett lärandeperspektiv med fokus på matematik, teknik, språk och naturkunskap eftersom dessa lärandeområden kan förankras i förskolans läroplan och dess definition av kunskap och lärande. Observationer av ett barnprogram ligger till grund för undersökningen och tolkas med hjälp av aktuell forskning i ämnet. Undersökningen utgörs av TV-observationer av tio avsnitt ur barnprogrammet Stor och Liten. Resultatet av undersökningen visar att barnprogram innehar flertalet möjligheter att vara lärande för barn utifrån ovanstående lärandeområden samt även som material för lärande i förskoleverksamheten.

Minskad efterfrågan på traditionella produkter från skogsindustrin kombinerat med ökad efterfrågan på icke-fossila material medför att företag inom skogsbranschen alltmer intresserar sig för nya produktsegment. Holmen New Business Development, en forsknings- och utvecklingsavdelning inom företaget Holmen arbetar med att utveckla produkter där trä kan ersätta traditionella alternativ. En möjlig produkt för avdelningen är Wood Plastic Composite (WPC), ett material som består av en kombination av en plastmatris och ett träbaserat fyllnadsmaterial som kan ges olika egenskaper vilka skiljer sig från rena trä- och plastmaterial. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur designers och produktutvecklare inom olika svenska branscher ser på användandet och utvecklingen av WPC inom sina produktområden, både idag och i framtiden. För att undersöka detta har 18 kvalitativa intervjuer genomförts med företag inom möbel-, köks-, fönster-, dörr-, staket- och trallindustrin. Studien visar att ett lågt pris, hög beständighet mot till exempel röta, fukt och mögel samt att materialet går att bearbeta på samma sätt som trä är de mest önskvärda attributen hos framtida WPC-material. Miljövänlighet hos produkten är ett attribut som respondenterna tror kommer få större betydelse i framtiden men som kunderna inte är beredda att betala för idag.

The filters used today to purify water are often expensive and the need to find new filter materials is substantial. Studies of pine bark have shown that this is a material that may be used as an alternative to conventional filter materials, such as activated carbon. However, the study of pine bark has shown that a leakage of phenolic compounds may occur when using the material for water purification. Therefore, the purpose of this report is to investigate the release of phenols from pine bark, in order to evaluate the use of pine bark as a filter material. Another assignment is to investigate the amount of metals adsorbed by the filter material.

The aim of this master thesis is to investigate changes within four discourses identified in the curriculum material of the Swedish library education in Borås Bibliotekarielinjen dating from 1977 and 1985 and its successor Library and Information Science Biblioteks- och informationsvetenskap dating from 1995, 1999. My method used is a text analytic method primarily derived from the discourse theory of Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe, yet with addition of tools from the critical discourse analysis of Fairclough. By identifying three floating signifiers within the material, i.e information, library, and librarian, and thereafter identifying their fixation, a pattern of resemblance and diversity in the fixating signs appeared between different courses of the curriculum dating from 1999. Hence I could establish an order of discourse consisting of four library discourses, a knowledge organisation discourse, a user discourse, a society discourse and a management discourse. Using this discursive order as a pattern, I could trace these four discourses back in time within the material dating from 1995, 1985 and 1977.

The first aim of this thesis is to descriptively identify and chart the activities of the strategic intelligence and environmental scanning that take place at the regional collaboration network Regionförbundet Örebro. This identification is essential in reaching the comprehensive and primary aim of the thesis: to discuss, through normative discourse, what the options of improvement are and in which ways systematic operations can be integrating parts in the organization. In order to offer guidance of development from the perspectives of environmental scanning, the question at issue has emanated from activities concerning the present methods of working at Regionförbundet Örebro.During the creation of this thesis, several interviews have been made with people who are regarded to be key roles within the regional collaboration network. An analysis has been made, based on governing documents and answers from the interviews, where possible improvements of the business have been identified. The inferences become parts of a greater potential of amelioration since they are presented as active solutions and proposals that can be directly adaptable to the organization.Our proposals of improvements/ameliorations are constituted by a number of concrete/explicit points such as: a wider public information supply and an introduction of several annual routines and methods..

The intention of this final thesis is to look into the improvement of small and run down railway stations. Many railway stations are today derelict and decaying. The purpose of this essay is to propose alternative strategies of action by discussing the ecology, the history and the social function of the railway station. There is also an overview of projects already completed. In the analysis part of the thesis, the genius loci or the spirit of place is put forward as means of reaching a solution.

In an effort to evaluate the effects of restorations of float ways on population density of stream dwelling fish in relation to the changes in habitat, I studied the physical habitat restored and channalized sites and their population density of brown trout (Salmo trutta L.) in three streams in the municipality of Sorsele. The differences between the channalized and the restored sites where most noticeable regarding substrate which where generally coarser in the restored sites. The analyses showed that the proportion of habitat that where suitable to the age class 0+ where significantly lower in the restored sites compared to the channalized sites. Regarding age class ?2+, no statistical differences in habitat quality were found.
