Increased resource efficiency in an energy system could result in large economic and environmental benefits. Tekniska verken i Linköping AB (Tekniska verken) is responsible for the district heating network in Linköping. Their vision is to create the world?s most resource efficient region. An important step towards this vision is more efficient usage of produced heat, something which could be achieved through integration of a seasonal heat storage in the energy system.

In this master thesis, the possibilities of customizing a low-cost microprocessor with the purpose of replacing an existing microprocessor solution are investigated. A brief survey of suitable processors is carried out wherein a replacement is chosen. The replacement processor is then analyzed and extended with accelerators in order to match set requirements.The result is a port of the processor Lattice Mico32 for the FPGA curcuit Xilinx Virtex-5 which replaces an earlier solution using Xilinx MicroBlaze. To reach the set requirements, accelerators for floating point arithmetics and FIR filtering have been developed. The toolchain for the processor has been modified to support the addition of accelerated floating point arithmetics.A final evaluation of the presented solution shows that it fulfills the set requirements and constitutes a functional replacement for the previous solution..

Syftet med den här studien är att undersöka textlämpligheten och dyslexianpassning av de texter som förekommer i svenska läroböcker i engelska A på gymnasiet. De läroböcker som undersöks är Master Plan, Straight Forward, RealTime1 och Spring Board 1. För att navigera rätt bland tidigare forskning och lärobokstexterna väljer jag att jobba utefter en frågeställning: 1. Vad kan ses som dyslexianpassning och vad är icke dyslexianpassning i läroböcker som används i engelska A? För att kunna undersöka textlämpligheten och dyslexianpassningen i lärobokstexterna användes två metoder; strukturell textanalys och innehållsanalys/läsbarhetsanalys. Resultatet av dessa analyser är bland annat att läroboken RealTime1 har stora fördelar för elever med dyslexi vad gäller textlämplighet..

The aim of this master thesis is to study the reliefs of a Romanesque tombstone from 1130 AD, with the intention to form a plausible understanding of their meaning. During the course of the investigation, my main focus will be on collecting materials of an iconographical and historiographical nature, as they appear in previous studies. I will also use performative analysis when examining the tombstone. Consequently this thesis can be seen as a survey of history and place; early Christian iconology as well as the experience of the viewer. As a result, the 900-year-old tombstone will not only be seen as a memorial in this text, but also as a performance of one man?s faith and as representing the core message of the early Christian church.The tombstone is a rarity in Swedish art history and well worth a closer examination.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to investigate articles in Swedish library journals on children?s reading from gender and sex perspectives. Gender theory as it has been developed by Yvonne Hirdman and Robert W. Connell is used to analyze the articles. The thesis includes a chapter on previous research in the fields of gender in relation to children, reading and the library.

This master?s thesis describes the development of a model of the catalystsystem aiming at control by an MPC. A well functioning model, which is suitable in control purpose, is important while emission legislation become more and more hard to fulfill for the car manufacturers. Much research has been done in the field of physical modeling of the system, but in this work a linear adaptive time discrete ARX-model is developed and validated.The systems tendency to change its dynamic during usage implies that the model must be adaptive. The developed model proved to be well functioning and shows promising conditions for the MPC design.

This is a study of why Japanese comics, so-called manga, in such a high degree make Swedish readers eager to write and draw comics themselves, and what didactic implications this might have for teachers working in Sweden. To answer this, the author has put together a focus group of Swedish artists influenced by manga, and also used a questionnaire at two Swedish art schools, where young artists are taught how to draw in a manga style. The results show that it is the compelling storytelling and the focus on the characters that enthral readers about Japanese comics, but that it is the seemingly simple style that makes the readers think they themselves can master it. The fact that the interest in both reading and creating manga, almost completely overlap with the so-called period of oppression (between the ages of 11 and 14) when most students lose interest in creating art, is something that could and should be used in the Swedish educational system..

The purpose of this Master Thesis is to analyze what suitable hardware platforms there are on the market in order to build a low price control and information system for mobile applications, called small display module. The thesis will be underlying material for making a decision for further development. The result of the thesis consists mainly of a Windows CE kernel and a schematic for a CPU card, on which it would be suitable to build the display module. Another major part of the report is the introduction of different techniques that could be of interest when designing a processor based system. The processor architecture that was chosen is the x86.

The aim of this Master thesis has been to analyse the debateon Wikileaks as it occured in the Swedish daily press during2010 and early 2011, as well as to identify what differentdiscourses influenced the discussions. The empirical materialconsisted of fifty-three articles, taken from three nationalnewspapers and has been analysed using the discourseanalysis theory of Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe. Thearticles were analysed in four stages which included:identifying statements concerning Wikileaks and itsoperations; identifying additional groups and individualsappearing in the debate and the statements made about these;grouping statements into themes and on the basis of thesethemes construct chains of equivalence and identify subjectpositions. The last stage consisted of identification ofdiscourses and the relationships and possible conflictsbetween those discourses. The results showed that fourdiscourses could be identified: the good democracydiscourse, the traditional diplomatic discourse, the goodjournalism discourse and the power-critical discourse..

Today there is no way of measuring or simulating turbulent flow in high Reynolds numberenvironments. The computational power required to simulate these conditions is not expectedto be available for several decades so instead the CICLoPE project aims at solving thisshortage by the construction of a long carbon fiber wind tunnel in which real measurementscan be made. To do accurate measurements it is of importance that the wind tunnel, 0.9 metersin diameter and 110 meters long, is as straight as possible.This master thesis treat the design and construction of a device which may be used to align thetunnel along a reference laser beam. A design is presented which allows the pipe to be alignedwithin about a quarter of a millimeter along its entire length. The report is a master thesis about energy efficient measures for an underground facility Hemsö fortress.Several proposals are evaluated economically.Statistics of the electricity used and measurements of several heat pumps are analyzed to find energysavings potentials.The results indicate that several units of a dehumidification system are responsible for over 70 % of theyearly electricity cost. The air that is being dehumidified by these units can otherwise cause damage ofculturally important interior designs.The proposal with highest profit suggests an alternative method for dehumidification. The cooler in theair handling units in Hemsö fortress have capacity to dehumidify the air. However complementary fansneed to be installed to circulate humid air towards the air handling units. The solution can be implementedin three different locations within the facility.

The investigation is based on data collected from Skogsstyrelesen, Riksskogstaxeringen and Skogsforsk. During the last twenty years the prices on pulp wood and saw log have substantial decreased, but during the same time the the volumes from final felling have increased and the cost for felling has decreased, this investigation shows how the netprofit per hectARE after final felling has changed between year 1980-2005 This investigation shows that that the netprofit has stayed on a stable level during the years 1985-2005 even though prices pulp wood and saw log decreased. Much indicates that the demand of swedish pulp wood and saw log will continue to be strong or even stronger wich will give increased prices and an higher netprofit after final felling in the future.

The aim of this master?s thesis is to investigate the value and impact that reading groups organized by Swedish Public Libraries, have on its participants, role of the librarian and the Library as whole, according to librarian?s conceptions. In literature and earlier research reading groups are described to represent an important reader pro-motion tool for Public Libraries. At the same time the typical reading group member is often described as a per-son with a familiarity of reading. Another purpose is therefore to investigate the contribution of reading groups in promoting reading, according to librarian?s conceptions.
