Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur Rydaholmsmetoden kan fungera för elever i lässvårigheter på högstadiet. Syftet var också att undersöka hur eleverna uppfattade arbetet med metoden. Som utgångspunkt valdes en kvantitativ ansats i form av en interventionsstudie med 15 elever i årskurs 7. Även en kvalitativ ansats i form av samtal användes för att ta reda på hur eleverna uppfattat arbetet.Resultatet av undersökningen visade att de flesta elever ökade testresultaten vad gäller avkodning. Interventionen genomfördes under fem veckor med för- och eftertest, vilket kan ha bidragit till viss inlärningseffekt av testresultaten.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka kvinnors politiska deltagande i irakiska Kurdistan. utifrån syftet undersökt sex frågeställningar: Hur stor andel av kvinnorna i irakiska Kurdistan röstade i förra valet, är medlemmar i ett politiskt parti, arbetar i ett politiskt parti, har kontaktat en politiker eller deltagit i en Manifestation, vad kvinnor själva anser vara vilka faktorer som hindrar deras politiska deltagande samt om det finns ett samband mellan utbildning och kvinnors politiska deltagande. En enkätundersökning genomfördes i irakiska Kurdistan. Arbil, Dohuk och slemaniya, sammanlagt mottogs 200 enkäter. Resultaten visar att det politiska deltagande är högt bland de undersökta kvinnorna i alla deltagandeformerna.

In Sweden, prostitution is politically defined as a social problem, more precisely, as a form of male violence against women. The definition is distinctly manifested in the government bill Kvinnofrid, characterised by the unique Swedish law that prohibits the purchase of sexual services.This thesis examines how the Swedish solutions of prostitution are carried out. By interviewing central actors working with prostitution in different ways we aim to answer the question: What measures are taken to decrease prostitution and what implications does the Swedish solution have?The analysis is divided into two parts. First, we analyse the concrete measures taken against prostitution ? what is done, how, and why? Second, we analyse the complexity of prostitution measures by applying complementary analytical perspectives: the symbolic and the discourse perspective.The study shows that measures taken to decrease prostitution vary and depend on individual actors? understandings of the political definition.

Webexhibits is a growing but unexplored, cultural phenomenon that indicates a new use of the Internet for cultural communication. In the essay two quantitative methods, logganalysis and websurveys, have been used to study the visitors in 5hus.nu. The purpose is to generate knowledge about webexhibits as a cultural Manifestation and medium by studying the experience and actions of its visitors. To achieve the aim the paper explores the methodological questions of how to study webusers. Theories about the exhibition as a medium and the web as a virtual area of exhibits have been used to understand and interpret the results.

This thesis strives to demonstrate my increasingly phenomenological approach to musical composition in relation to the extensive body of musical works connected in different ways to the poetry collection ORDER by the Swedish author and play-wright Lars Norén. The hand, the touch, the voice, the space (environment) and its philosophical implications are scrutinised from a poetic perspective (my poetics). The question of language (the word), the sign (text), sound/noise/music and its immanent bodily qualities are focused and questioned in my own work as well as in primarily two case studies of the music of Pierluigi Billone (1960-) and Morton Feldman (1926-1987).The text reflects the emancipatory process my music has undergone the last 4- 5 years: moving away from language and text (representation) to body and sound, although preserving and nurturing the extended idea of the sign (as signification of sound and body) as a possible embodied vehicle in my composing and artistic thinking.The reader is invited through the extensive use of sketches and work methods to witness and follow this process as a Manifestation of the ?doing? rather than the presentation or construction of an analysis in an academic sense.The thesis offers no solution and it fails to encapsulate all of the so-called ORDER-MUSIC (the music that is connected with Norén's collection of poetry) Instead it proposes a possible way of ?opening? the process to a basically phenomenological methodology inside the musical field of score based chamber music..

The aim of this thesis is to explore the concept of the work and the problems with the definition of it. The concept is an important starting-point when it comes to cataloguing musical works and creating uniform titles. Another aim is to find out other difficulties that are frequent in cataloguing printed music. In the theoretical part of this thesis Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records FRBR and the Swedish cataloguing rules KRS are important tools. The FRBR-model and the four entities work, expression, Manifestation and item are described.

Den judiske historieskrivaren Flavius Josefus som i Rom skrev sitt verk Antiquitates Judaicae om det hebreiska folkets historia betonade starkt den hebreiska profetismen, profeterna och profetian. Den tidiga kristna kyrkan byggde sin tro på de gamla hebreiska profeternas skrifter och den fortsatta uppenbarelsen man uppfattade under första århundradet. Föreliggande studie bygger dock på frågeställningen om vad som var den hebreiska profetismens egentliga väsen och religiösa funktion enligt Josefus beskrivning i Antiquitates Judaicae 5-11? I studien används Mircea Eliades religionsteori som heuristiskt redskap för att finna svar på frågeställningen. Undersökningen visar att den hebreiska profetismens egentliga väsen enligt Josefus var Guds Manifestation, hierofani och uppenbarelse hos vissa människor, genom att de blev uppfyllda av Guds ande (????? ??????).

The aim of this essay is to illustrate a modern phenomenon, the Olympic Games, by applying the ideas of Mircea Eliade concerning space, time and myth. This literature study is mainly divided in two parts, one descriptive and one analytic. In the first part Eliade?s ideas and some criticism, which has been pointed against his theoretical approaches as well as his character, are presented. In the second part an analysis is carried out, based on the previously presented ideas and elements essential for the Olympics; the idea of the Olympics, the place, the ceremonies, the competition and the concept of individual idolism.I have discussed what seems like gnostic tendencies in Eliade?s ideas, in the sense that both Eliade?s ideas and the concept of Gnosticism argue that knowledge is a necessary condition for salvation, as well as the fact that Eliade and his ideas have not always a pro-Christian approach.

The purpose of this master thesis is to examine how Dublin Core corresponds to the findings in the IFLA report Functional requirements for bibliographic records FRBR, and what consequences this correspondence has on the usability of Dublin Core as a bibliographic standard. While the study describes the conceptual model of FRBR and the entities work, expression, Manifestation and item, its main focus is the mapping of attributes and relationships to the user tasks defined, namely to find, identify, select and obtain entities. The study makes a comparison between data that FRBR rates as highly important for any user task, and the elements defined in DCMI Metadata Terms. The outcome of the comparison is then analyzed as to how it affects Dublin Core's possibilities to assist in the different user tasks, and common problems are discussed. The results show that problems in expressing attributes and relationships through Dublin Core elements concern all of the four user tasks.

The objective of this thesis is to explore the prerequisites for children?s participation in the activities of the public library as expressed by six children?s librarians. Qualitative semi-structured interviews were carried out to investigate how the librarians interpreted the concept of participation and viewed power issues between children and adults. Further, difficulties and possibilities experienced in working with children?s participation and Manifestations of children?s participation in everyday library work were also investigated.

The award-winning Norwegian novelist Karl Ove Knausgård achieved great success with his latest book, Min kamp. Both commercially and critically, the novel was praised for its seemingly successful attempt to transcend the boundary between fiction and real life. Instead of relying on a correspondence theoretical view, which highlights the level of correspondence of a particular representation with reality, I seek, inspired by Martin Heidegger?s thoughts on works of art, to trace a poetics which sees the verity in a work of art as the ?unconcealment? of the world, or the coming-to-being of objects.

This also transforms our attitude towards literature and we can see a return to literature based on verbal characteristics. According to Hans Hertel the verbal renaissance reflects a modern man need to come closer to each other and create togetherness.

I Sverige pågår en process där allt fler människor betraktar sig som icke-religiösa och väljer att lämna sitt medlemskap i Svenska kyrkan. Med bakgrund av denna samhällsutveckling är det troligt att fler alternativa begravningsplatser kommer att efterfrågas i framtiden. Målet med denna uppsats är att undersöka vilka gestaltningsprinciper som är viktiga för dessa platser och hur dessa principer påverkar önskvärd karaktär. Kyrkogården har traditionellt stått för värden som stillhet, andlighet och kontemplation. Dessa värden är betydande för människan inte minst då hon bearbetar en förlust eller traumatisk händelse. Uppsatsen undersöker hur en plats kan gestaltas för att understödja människan i detta behov. Studien genomförs genom en kvalitativ litteraturstudie där en utkristallisering av betydande gestaltningsprinciper sker.

Syftet är att granska tidigare läsningar och tolkningar och revidera dessa där det behövs, samt att utifrån en sannolik tolkning av inskriften säga något om dess sakliga bakgrund och syfte. Eftersom studien syftar till att läsa och förstå text utgår metoden från en beskrivning av läsandet som psykologisk process. I varje del av detta arbete har den mest sannolika lösningen valts utifrån en jämförelse med annat runmaterial. Resultatet innebär en nyläsning och -tolkning av en av inskriftens rader.
