This thesis is about university spin-offs and the competition in high technology industries. In the light of efforts to increase the competitiveness of the European Union, an effective transfer of cutting edge technology from universities to the industry plays an important role. University spin-offs, start-ups founded to exploit academic inventions, are likely to face considerable market entry barriers. This is among other reasons due to high capital requirements for further technology development and lack of complementary resources. With a combination of relevant literature and empirical investigation, commercialisation of technologies within spin-offs is investigated and analysed.

Vi har med hjälp av en kvalitativ metod undersökt vår problemformulering och vårt syfte, om revisorernas syn på slopandet av revisionsplikten.  Utifrån problemformuleringen har frågeställningar till undersökningen bildats och dessa försöker vi att besvara i uppsatsen. Revisionen tillkom för första gången i 1895 års lag om aktiebolag, men revisionsplikten kom inte till förrän år 1988. Utvecklingen av revisionen har fortsatt till att bli mer omfattande. Revisionsplikten har medfört administrativa kostnader för de små företagen och EU vill minska bördan för dem. I Sverige har en utredning gjorts angående huruvida revisionsplikten ska slopas eller inte.

The thesis work was conducted with the company Free2Move AB. The company is located in Halmstad and is an acting provider of wireless communications for industrial customers, mainly focused on Bluetooth? technology.In today's society most people have their music on their computer, MP3 player or mobile phone. What if you could avoid the cable between your sound system and sound source and transfer music wirelessly instead? Together with the company's engineers, I have developed a new comprehensive product for wireless music transmission.

Materialhantering är en växande bransch som medför att både antalet anställda och arbets-tempot ständigt ökas. En konsekvens av detta är att antalet olyckor med fallande objekt har ökat i samband med användning av truckar.I detta examensarbete har därför en undersökning av skyddstaket till truckserien staplare (Stacker, Pedestrian with platform, Electrically powered) genomförts. Syftet är att undersöka möjligheterna att ta fram en ny konstruktion på skyddstaket som, jämfört med den befintliga konstruktionen, kan absorbera energin från en fallande last på ett bättre sätt samt minskar den kvarstående deformationen. Detta för att kunna öka säkerheten för föraren ytterligare men även för att kunna öka produktiviteten av trucken genom att minimera servicetiden av taket efter större lastfall.Målet med arbetet är att ta fram en CAD-modell på en ny konstruktion av skyddstaket som ska kunna utgöra underlag för framtagning av en testprototyp. Projektet har följt en systematisk produktutvecklingsprocess i vilken det första steget är att ta fram en kravspecifikation på konstruktionen.

Purpose: In order to curb the prevalence of undeclared work and to improve competi-tion within the building and construction business, reversed charge audit will from July 1, 2007 onwards be applied within the building sector. The new rules entail a consider-able amount of delimiting problems as regards both businesses and services.The aim of this essay is to study the rules as well as direct the light upon various consequen-tial delimiting problems. Furthermore, we will investigate what the effects are on the busi-nesses, as well as their view regarding this. Apart from this, we will also investigate who will benefit and who will be disfavourably affected, respectively, by the new lawMethod: The investigation has been conducted with a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. Firstly, an opinion poll was carried out, directed towards Swedish construction companies, and this was then deepened using three interviews.Result & Conclusions: The essay demonstrates that the new rules have entailed more work to a varying degree for the companies.

Purpose: The main purpose of the thesis is to examine the profitability of Momentum Strategies on the Nordic stock markets. This will provide insight and contribute to the debate on efficient markets. Finding profitable Momentum Strategies will provide strong evidence of inefficiency in the market. A secondary purpose is to examine factors which might cause or impact the profitability of the Momentum Strategy. We will look closely at the relationship between the profitability and factors such as risk (CAPM-beta), market capitalization, trading volume and seasonality.

Bakgrund: I och med samhällets globalisering ökar möjligheterna för revisionsmedarbetare till internationell rörlighet länder emellan. En svensk revisionsmedarbetare har idag möjlighet att åka på en utbytesperiod för att tillägna sig ny kunskap; såväl professionell som privat, vilket det finns olika tillvägagångssätt för. Samhälleliga, privata och arbetsmässiga kulturkrockar är något som en revisionsmedarbetare kan uppleva genom ett utbyte. För revisionsmedarbetare bör det vara nyttigt att erfara sådana här skillnader för att skapa ny kunskap, utveckla sin egna samt kunna dela med sig av denna.Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka vilken utbyteskunskap en svensk revisionsmedarbetare har av ett utbyte till USA, hur denna tillägnas, samt om denna kunskap går att implementera i det fortsatta arbetet i Sverige.Definitioner: Utbyteskunskap definieras i denna uppsats som den typ av kunskap som tillägnas vid ett utbyte. Med kunskap avses sådan som kan användas inom revisionsyrket, vilket innefattar kunskap om arbetsmetoder, tillvägagångssätt, sociala förhållanden samt regelverkens uppbyggnad.Resultat och slutsatser: Resultatet av studien konstaterar att utbyteskunskapen består i privata--?, kulturella--? och arbetsmässiga områden, vilka tillägnas genom erfarenhetsbaserat lärande samt praktisk involvering i samhället..

Den 1 januari 1999 bildade elva länder (Belgien, Finland, Frankrike, Italien, Irland, Luxemburg, Nederländerna, Portugal, Spanien, Tyskland och Österrike) en europeisk valutaunion, det som också kallas euroområdet. Grekland anslöt sig, som en tolfte och ny deltagare, i januari 2001. Även om Sverige, Danmark och Storbritannien inte deltar från start har det varit klart att EMU kommer få konsekvenser för olika sektorer.Frågorna som behandlats i detta arbete är följande:Har EMU haft en effekt på de finansiella marknaderna i de länder som är med i valutaunionen?Har Sveriges, Storbritanniens och Danmarks finansiella marknader förändrats på samma sätt som i de länder som är med i EMU, fast dessa länder står utanför?Syftet med detta arbete är att analysera de finansiella marknaderna, genom beräkningar av vissa kända finansiella variabler, i de länder som deltar i valutaunionen och tre länder som står utanför (Sverige, Danmark och Storbritannien). Detta för att se om de finansiella marknaderna har påverkats av EMU och hur de har påverkats i och med inträdet.De variabler som behandlats är; ?-värdet, för att se om länderna går mot en gemensam marknadsrisk.

Background Swedish nurses are required by law to document nursing care. Studies have proved scarce in nursing documentation with regard to written language, the nursing process and the nurse´s caring perspective. Educating nurses in using the VIPS model have improved nursing documentation. Few studies have included nursing documentation of psychiatric care.Aim The aim of this study was to describe nursing documentation within psychiatric care of inpatient settings.Method A quantitative, retrospective descriptive research design was applied. A total of 60 nursing journals from a psychiatric department of six wards were studied.

This Bachelor Thesis in the area of Computer Science and Work Science describes the process of design and development of an IT-tool between the municipality of Ron-neby and TietoEnator a development and consultancy firm, the Gothenburg office. The thesis focuses mainly on the cooperation between the consultant designer and the local municipal. Through cooperation, the organisation is incorporated into the tool and the tool is incorporated into the organisation. Concepts that are central in this thesis are design, cooperation and tailoring. A question raised is, if distance work and extensive cooperation might be a good way of working in the process of design and development, when the organisation is being incorporated into the tool. Advan-tages and disadvantages of this way of working are discussed. Our studies show that distance work is a good complement for personal meet-ings between designer and co-developer.

IASB is currently working with the replacement of IAS 39 Financial Instruments: Recognition and Measurement. The new standard IFRS 9 Financial Instruments is said to be based on principles as opposed to the more rules-based IAS 39. This thesis examines the third phase of the project regarding micro hedge accounting. The expressed goal from IASB is to provide more useful hedge accounting information by reducing complexity of the standard. To examine the potential effects of the transition from the rules based IAS 39 to the more principles based IFRS 9, we have performed a case study on a major Swedish bank.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the motives underlying the consumption of alcohol among college students and if the motives differ between genders. The study is based on the following questions: What are the motives underlying alcohol consumption among students? Do these motives differ between men and women? Is there any connection between the motives for alcohol consumption and consumption? The study is a quantitative, empirical comparison study and the data presented is mainly descriptive. The study group consists of students from a university in central Sweden. After an exclusion of five students a total of 81 students participated in the survey, of which 55 were female and 26 were male.

Bakgrund: Detaljhandeln har under de senare decennierna genomgått en förändring där större kedjor tar allt mer plats. Den levande debatten om vikten av småföretagandet i Sverige gör att frågan väcks om vad som händer med småföretagen i detaljhandelns utveckling. Samverkan kan vara ett sätt för småföretagen att konkurrera mot de större aktörerna. Småföretagaren beskrivs inte sällan ha en önskan om att arbeta självständigt och en stark vilja om hur det egna företaget ska drivas. Då två av tre småföretag ändå väljer att regelbundet samarbeta med andra företag är det av intresse att undersöka vad småföretagen har för motiv till samverkan.Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka varför småföretag väljer att ingå organiserad samverkan.

Motivation, in an organizational context, is about whether the employees feel that their work is worthwhile, satisfactory and that there are opportunities for further development within the organization. However, motivation can be affected by a number of factors that originate from the employees? characteristics, the characteristics of the situation and the individuals perception of that situation. A factor that could lead to a low level of motivation is if the employee feels that his work is monotonous.Thus the purpose was to study the factors that lead to motivation and job satisfaction in a working environment that generally is considered monotonous and dull by investigating the target group cashiers at two Swedish grocery stores called Ica Kvantum and Coop Forum.In this study a quantitative method was used by the design of a questionnaire. The questionnaire was used to get a general idea of the factors that the respondents consider motivating in their work.The results and the analysis of the questionnaire show that you really cannot make any general conclusions since there are many different factors that lead to motivation depending on who you are as an individual and in what phase of life one finds oneself.

Bakgrund och problem: Den 1 november 2010 beslutade regeringen att avskaffa revisionsplikten för småbolag. Lagändringen kring revisionen har diskuterats omfattande både före och efter reformen. Regeringen bedömde i sin utredning att förslaget om fri revision kommer att innebära att småföretagare kommer säga upp sina avtal med revisionsbyråerna, revisorer kommer att inrikta sig mot andra tjänster, rådgivning kommer få ökad betydelse och antalet revisorer kommer att minska. En annan studie, gällande framtiden, genomfördes och de kunde konstatera att branschen kommer att förändras i framtiden, nya krav kommer att ställas och revisionens roll blir mindre betydelsefull.Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att beskriva och analysera hur aktörer inom revisionsbranschen ser på förändringen.Metod: Studien har utgått ifrån en kvalitativ metod i form av semistrukturerade intervjuer där personliga intervjuer genomfördes i tre olika revisionsbyråer.Resultat och slutsats: Samtliga respondenter har olika syn på att revisionsplikten avskaffades där de generellt kan se både det positiva och det negativa med reformen. De revisorer som ingick i denna studie upplever inte att reformen i sig utgör ett hot mot revisionen.
