Employee turnover can cost an organization a significant amount of money. In addition, retention of employees can beneficial towards to an organization as it e.g. allows to save costs related torecruitment and training of new employees. The fast food industry is recognized as an industry which employs low-skilled employees and is especially in the United States known to be prone to high employee turnover. With regards to Europe, only little information is available in the field of low-skilled employee retention in the fast food industry.

This essay contains a discoursive analysis of fifteen travel reports from five of the largest papers in Sweden. The travel reports contains recaptions from wildlife tourism experiences were the predators are the main target, or at least one of the main targets. Seven of the reports are from Sweden and eight of them from Russia, Rumania, Finland, Turkey and the United States. Predators in this essay aims to those in Sweden called ?the big five?, these are: bears, wolves, lynxes , wolverines and golden eagles.

Castration of dogs holds many reasons and opinions, therefore methods, traditions and rea-sons vary. The approaches have during time changed from mostly surgical castrations to also including hormonal treatments. Castration is used to control the dog's reproductive abilities, for medical reasons and to possibly rectify problems of behavioral nature. How common a particular method of castration is in a country is highly dependent on the country's traditions. In Sweden it is most common with castration for medical reasons, such as possible elimina-tion of diseases, for example, benign colorectal tumors.

Within the field of welfare research, few people take into account both the aspect of gender and class. Thetraditional class-oriented research has a one-dimensional perspective on gender and the feminist welfare researchrarely carry out large comparative studies. A multi-dimensional perspective on the construction ofgender and class would benefit from both the feminist and class welfare-oriented research, and contribute toincreasing the knowledge about the individual's experience and attitudes to work and work time. The aim ofthis paper is to examine the correlation of the intersectional relationship between sex / gender position andclass position with the attitudes and motives for working time reduction. Especially in, (1) the value in work,and (2) the attitude to a high number of working hours, as well as (3) its combined effect on the conflict betweenwork and family.

Racial discrimination is a highly topical and burning issue, of special interest in working life. Most researchers agree on that discrimination is a problem in the Swedish labour market. To counteract the ongoing discrimination, a new Anti-Discrimination Act was founded in 1999. The Racial Discrimination Act although appears to be ineffective on the basis of legal usage. Of all the legal cases about racial discrimination in the labour market, there has only been one sentence of guilty stated by the Swedish Labour Court.

The United Nations has been introducing a framework convention on climate change. One component of the convention is the Kyoto protocol. The protocol is obligating the developed countries to decrease their emissions of greenhouse gases by 5.2 percent during the time period 2008-2012.

Denna uppsats grundar sig i den teoretiska konflikten mellan den i Sverige gällande löftesprincipen och kontraktsprincipen som är den gällande principen i den internationella köplagen, United Nation Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, CISG. Uppsatsen tar avstamp i det faktum att de nordiska länderna har valt att inte ratificera den del i CISG som rör avtalsingående. Vi har utrett vilka praktiska konsekvenser dessa skillnader får och om det finns något behov för Sverige att ansluta sig till den del av CISG som behandlar avtalsingående. Uppsatsen består först av en litteraturbaserad del som redogör för de olika anbudsprinciperna, CISG och avslutningsvis innebörden av letter of intent och standardavtal i korthet. För att undersöka hur detta fungerar i praktiken har vi utöver studier av juridisk doktrin valt att intervjua anställda på Stora Enso.

Tidigare forskning kring funktionshindrade elevers skolgång och behov har oftast kretsat runt föräldrarnas eller andra vuxnas perspektiv. Barn och unga med funktionshinder har setts med vuxnas ögon. Röster och erfarenheter från barn och ungdomar med funktionshinder har i stort saknats i utredningar och betänkanden. Detta trots att Sverige förbundit sig att efterleva FN:s konvention om barnets rättigheter och inlemma barn och unga i beslutsprocesser. Med utgångspunkt från artikel 12 i FN:s barnkonvention, om barns rätt att höras och bli hörda och den nyligen initierade utredningen om bland annat behovet av en specialskola för elever i gymnasieålder, samt kommunernas möjlighet att anordna utbildning för elever med vissa funktionshinder, var syftet med den aktuella studien att belysa funktionshindrade barn och ungdomars erfarenheter och upplevelser av sin skolsituation.

This paper originates in a study of Community Gardens in the United States. An overview of how and why the gardens have emerged, their functions today, and their effects and problems is presented. The reader will also be introduced to a selection of Swedish movements that correspond with the phenomenon of the American Community Garden. These are as follows; The Allotment Garden, the Swedish term Stadsdelsträdgård (a metaphor for a Community Garden in a Swedish urban context), Mykorrhiza Malmö Stadsodlare and The Allotment Plot. None of the above-mentioned Swedish movements can be described as an exact equivalent of the American Community Garden, but they all contain elements witch constitutes parts of the phenomenon.

Syftet med föreliggande uppsats är att utreda huruvida avtalslagens (AvtL) anbud-accept modell är tillämplig vid avtalsslut genom förhandlingar. Denna modell som stadgas i lagens 1 § föreskriver att ett avtal kommer till stånd genom att ett anbud besvaras med en överensstämmande accept. Detta är ett uttryck för den gemensamma partsviljan som är utgångspunkten för avtalsbundenhet i den svenska avtalsrätten. Vid förhandlingar bollas olika förslag fram och tillbaka mellan parterna och dessa förhandlingsbud anses ej som juridiskt bindande. Att försöka passa in detta förfaringssätt i modellens termer av anbud och accept blir därför inte helt lätt vilket medför svårigheter med att avgöra en tidpunkt för avtalsbundenhetens inträde.

The senior essay examines the geographical imaginations, notions of Self and community that were mobilized in the media and by the government in conjunction with an event, namely, the space voyage of Christer Fuglesang ? the first Swedish astronaut in space on December ___ 2006. The study is a critical investigation of media discourses, representations of space, and geographical imaginations that were triggered by the event. The specific issues addressed by this study are (a) which representations of Sweden were mobilized in narrating the event? (b) In what ways has Fuglesang´s space voyage influenced the image of Sweden? (c) How was the event rallied vis-à-vis discourses of entrepreneurial culture and neoliberal growth by the government? (d) Which themes and clichés were mustered in the media dramaturgy of the event? (e) Which topics were excluded in media narratives and representation of the event? (f) Have familiar geographical imaginations, notions of Self and community been reconfigured? If so, how?The present study analyzes narratives of the event in the two largest newspapers in Sweden - Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter, as well the two biggest TV-channels ? Swedish Television and TV4.
