The purpose of this study is to investigate how employees in the financial sector perceive the leadership behaviors of middle managers, and if these perceptions differ depending on the manager's gender and if so, in what way. The study is based on a social constructivist perspective and theories of gendered organizational structures. It is based on 15 semi-structured interviews with employees who have either female or male middle managers from different companies in the Swedish financial sector. The results show that gender often acts as a framework for how leadership is evaluated and understood. Female middle managers are frequently associated with relationship-oriented qualities.

vuxnas läsning av skönlitteratur I became happier and wiser: young adults reading of fiction [123[upps-01.gif This Masters thesis explores young adults 18-26 years old, reading of fiction: their reading preferences, the meaning of reading and their access to literature. A study was made by way of a questionnaire, including 56 young adults, and seven qualitative interviews with two groups: one at a folk highschool and the other at a public library. The theories we have used to analyse the results are: theories of gender and youth, theories of literary genres, reader-response criticism, literature sociology and the theories of cultural sociology by the sociologist Pierre Bourdieu. In the analysis the results are compared to other studies of reading habits. Results from this study show that the young adults read fiction from several genres among popular- and quality literature.

En så kallad Internet-community, är en mötesplats i cyberrymden där människor träffas och håller kontakten. De flesta communities har därför en del funktioner där kunderna bland annat kan lägga upp texter, bilder och videoklipp. Dessa kallas användarens prestationer som ett samlingsnamn i denna uppsats. Abstract In general, language is the key to the community, to self-sufficiency and independence. Being able to speak the Swedish language is a part of the community integration. Integration also has a practical aspect that includes everyday life and affects one's opportunities in the labor market. Therefore, we have selected in this paper to focus on the language and integration but inevitably we will also discuss the education you need on the labor market. The purpose of this study is to describe how the staffs at the Language Café Nobel works for an increased integration in Malmo, and examine the significance of Language Café Nobel have for their participants.

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to investigate how seven homosexual men in the age between 18 and 26 years experience openness with their sexuality in Stockholm. We wish to investigate how these men experience and handle their everyday life in a community characterized by a heteronormative foundation. We will focus on how they handle their openness in an urban environment and if they experience any limitations dependent on the situation or surroundings they live in, and also how they handle these situations. The study is hermeneutically inspired where seven life story interviews are analyzed within the theoretical frameworks provided by Connell, Goffman, Foucault and Queer theory.The results show that the respondents? openness varies depending on a variety of factors where surroundings, situations and previous experiences are influential.

From being an exotic small religion that has existed at a fading presence in southern Iraq and Iran mandeism has moved to the West and Sweden. As more and more Mandaeans encounter a new culture and a new society in Sweden it affects not only them as individuals but also their religion mandeism. In this essay, I have begun to examine how Mandaeans think about their identity and religion. I have taken my starting point in a broad theoretical discussion of identity, religion and secularisation. Mandeism is a gnostic religion that probably has its roots in today?s Israel / Palestine and sees John the Baptist as the last prophet.

This study aims to gain greater knowledge about the use of framing in local sports journalism. We did this by doing a qualitative content analysis of the local Swedish newspaper Barometern/OT and it?s coverage of the largest local football team, Kalmar FF. We randomly selected six of the team?s games during 2014 and analysed all the texts that had to do with the games, except for shorter texts and texts that are supposed to be based on personal opinions, such as chronicles.

Connells hegemoniska maskulinitet, Yvonne Hirdmans genuskontrakt,Laura Mulveys ?the male gaze? och en vidare utveckling av Foucaults teori om ?thepanopticon?. It is obvious that these issues also arebrought into focus as an important field of research. My main interest in this paper is to study how a reconciliation group in the middle of the conflict in Northern Ireland has developed a view of conflict reason and conflict resolution under the influence of the French researcher René Girard and what aspects of this study that can improve the reflection over pluralism and dissonances of faith and values in everyday praxis in education.For a period of more than a decade I have been in contact with actors in the peace process inNorthern Ireland in connection to different educational projects. 15th of December 2005 was a historical day for the Iraqi people when they could vote for the first time in a free referendum for the draft of the new constitution. The result showed that 79% accepted it. The Iraqi constitution has been criticized by many for its Islamic ascendancy. By giving Islam the role as the source for legislation, will make the situation worse for the Iraqi women, so it has been said.My aim with this Master thesis is not to evaluate weather or not Islam as a religion will undermine women's roll in the society. My ambition is rather to examine the constitution in order to see which kind of theory of citizenship it is inspired from and how will it affect the situation of the Iraqi women.

Bakgrund - Med internets framväxt har nya kommunikationsvägar öppnats och möjliggjort samskapande mellan användare utan koppling till tid eller rum. Wikipedia är ett community som har dragit nytta av den nya teknik, som internet har fört med sig, och sajten är idag den sjätte största på internet. Som alla communities styrs Wikipedia av normer och värderingar (Schouten & McAlexander 1995). Dessa värderingar möjliggör att användarna kan skapa artiklar och därigenom värdet på Wikipedia. Vargo och Lusch (2004) menar dock att organisationer endast kan ge tjänsteerbjudanden och att värdet sedan skapas tillsammans med användaren.Studien kartlägger hur Wikipedias värderingar styr användarna till att skapa artiklar på sajten.

I Sverige växer intresset för att odla sina egna grönsaker, men få bostadsområden erbjuder möjlighet till odling och det är högt tryck på befintliga kolonilotter. Det är därför nödvändigt att ge plats åt nya former av odling i den urbana miljön. En sådan utveckling går i linje med den omställning mot hållbar stadsutveckling som städerna står inför. Kommunen behöver ge praktiska exempel på hållbara lösningar och en väg att gå är att låta medborgarna odla i det offentliga rummet. Uppsatsen avser att ta fram en förstudie till ett projekt som ska bidra till en förbättrad hållbar stadsutveckling. Projektet som föreslås är att parkkontoret i Lunds kommun tillsammans med odlingsintresserade invånare anlägger en stadsdelsträdgård på den stora gröningen i Folkparken.

This study revolves around calculating the extent of appearance of both anonymously and named men and women as well as determining whether or not Yvonne Hirdman?s gender theory is applicable on two versions of a Swedish educational history textbook called Epos: historia: för gymnasieskolans kurs A (2008) and Epos [historia] 1b (2012), published for two different curriculum. Our qualitative investigation of two parts of the book?s content proves that the two principles of gender system are present in both books, although to a lesser extent in the latter version. Calculating the material, results have shown that anonymous men and women are almost equally presented in Epos 2012, which is not the case in the 2008 version.

The purpose of this master?s thesis is to see why there seem to be little interest in the management position at the public libraries. Since librarianship is a field that are proportionally dominated by women we chose to approach the study with a gender perspective. This study has excluded men and our main interest is the women?s point of view.
