The parrot is a common symbol, or even cliché, in Western literature, going all the way back fromancient Greece to the present date, and in many a genre. This study reads the oeuvre of the NobelPrize winner Samuel Beckett (1906-1989) as being closely related to these certain traditions andconnotations of for example religion, satire, and speaking nonsense, in his frequent use of parrotsand their symbolic potentials, in his writing. Furthermore, it is possible to distinguish a movementin Beckett?s use of parrots, from a more or less traditionally use, to one more philosophicallyprofound.Although the parrot graces us with its presence (or at least may be traced) in almost everywork written by Beckett, from the poem ?Whoroscope? Konstmuseum i Uppsala
Konstmuseum i Uppsala Ă€r delvis ett transformationsprojekt men ocksĂ„ ett tillĂ€gg i form av en ny byggnad. Arbetet med museet utgick ifrĂ„n en övergripande frĂ„gestĂ€llning: Hur kan ett nytt konstmuseum informeras av platsen KatalinÂomrĂ„det, tydligt samverka med den befintliga bebyggelsen och samtidigt bidra med ett nytt lager till helheten? Vidare har frĂ„gor kring framtidens rum för konst vĂ€ckts och behandlats. MĂ„let har varit att skapa ett museum med en variationsrik rumslig upplevesle genom utstĂ€llningen dĂ€r besökaren rör sig Âgenom platsens lager. En analys av platsens historia, material och rumssamband informerade projektets gestaltning, tektonik och omÂarbetningen av det offentliga rummet kring byggnaden. This thesis examines source criticism and critical thinking among upper secondary school students in social science in three different schools in Sweden. Our particular focus lies in investigating the student's critical thinking skills and evaluation of digital sources when they work independently with different projects. How do students value and sort the information they find? We looked furthermore at what factors that may influence students in their evaluation of sources. Moreover, the purpose of this thesis to investigate how the student's critical thinking skills can be used as tools to become more information literate in a learning context.

The governance and control of healthcare organizations has traditionally been run byprofessions inside the organization (Fölster et al., 2003). During the last decades Swedishhealthcare has undergone an institutional transformation where the governance has changedfrom professional governance to a more market like one (Sahlin-Andersson, 2006). Governingof healthcare can however be problematic as professional work is characterized by a highlevel of autonomy and tacit knowledge (cf. Tsoukas, 1997, Freidson, 2001). An expression ofthe new kind of governance is the annually published report ?Ăppna jĂ€mförelser av hĂ€lso- ochsjukvĂ„rdens kvalitet och effektivitet?.

Management research has during the last decades devoted itself to finding new solutions as to how companies in a better and more efficient way can take advantage of the human resources to create added value. This brings up the problem of understanding, making visible and identifying these resources and to be able to influence them. A section of the issue of understanding that has grown stronger lately builds on the role of emotions in transformation of resources. Research into this issue has shown a discrepancy where a common view seldom can be assumed. This leads to the first aim of the essay; to create a theoretical framework for understanding and dealing with the role that emotions play when it comes to creating added value in a company.

 Sociala och miljömÀssiga faktorer har kommit att fÄ allt större betydelse för företag i sÄvÀl deras verksamhet som för deras fortlevnad. Medvetenheten kring ansvarsfullt företagande har ökat pÄ dagens marknad och med avseende pÄ lönsamhet och marknadsvÀrde Àr syftet med denna uppsats att undersöka huruvida betydelsen för Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) har ökat. Undersökningen genomförs genom att testa korrelationen mellan CSR och lönsam-het (ROA) respektive marknadsvÀrde (E/P-tal), för företag noterade pÄ Stockholmsbörsen mellan Ären 2006 och 2009. För att ytterligare kunna uttala oss om huruvida sambandet mel-lan CSR och lönsamhet stÀrkts över perioden genomförs Fishers Z-transformation, dÀr likhe-ten mellan korrelationskoefficienter testas. Resultaten för undersökningen pÄvisar ett positivt samband mellan CSR och lönsamhet, men dÀremot ges inget stöd för att sambandet mellan CSR och lönsamhet stÀrkts över den undersökta perioden.
Studie i Ornament
Detta projekt Àr en ombyggnad av Tyresö Gymnasium till ett bostadskomplex, som bevarar yttervÀggarna och den bÀrande konstruktionen i delen av skolan vald, för att sedan Àndra om planlösningen och dra ett strÄk genom byggnaden. Det ombyggdas gestaltning söker anvÀnda historiska referenser pÄ ett sÀtt som gör att tillbyggnaden kontrasterar den kvarvarande skolan. Eftersom de yttre fasaderna bevaras skapar projektet en sorts oas, eller en gömd glÀnta, i Tyresö. NÀr ombyggnaden vÀl Àr klar, kommer skillnaden vara nÀst intill omÀrkbar utifrÄn, utom av vissa glimtar, för att locka in förbipasserande att ta en liten omvÀg och gÄ genom den skapade grÀnden. En stor del av det hÀr projektet var vilket förhÄllningsÀtt jag skulle ha till historiska referenser. UtgÄngspunkten var att anvÀnda dem flitigt, nÄgot jag inte var sÄ bevandrad i förut, i synnerhet inte förmodernistiska stilar (speciellt Art Nouveau) vilket var det jag ville anvÀnda. Jag ville varken enbart kopiera rakt av, eller anvÀnda element utan koppling till helheten i en annars modern byggnad.

Protracted social conflicts, as those in Cyprus and Northern Ireland, are based on deep rooted perceptions of identity and definitions of "the other". According to the theory of discursive conflict transformation, war is primarily a social phenomenon, which is legitimated by a discourse of identity defined in terms of exclusionist boundaries and structural ideas of the social relations in society. In order to develop positive peace, the discourse of violence has to be challenged and the discursive structures that enable war have to transform into a counterdiscourse of inclusion and individuality. For the purpose of making a critical peace analysis, I have, with the assistance of established conflict theories, analysed the basic ideas behind the the Annan Plan and the Belfast Agreement and thus been able to interpret to what extent they may foster positive peace. I argue, that in order to provide basic needs on a group basis, power sharing arrangement, based on ethnicity or religion, exacerbates division rather than ameliorating it.

SÄ föddes min Maria Magdalena : En analys av Marianne Fredrikssons bok Enligt Maria Magdalena ur ett litteraturvetenskpligt genusperspektiv
Syftet med denna uppsats Àr att, genom en hermeneutisk och komparativ nÀrlÀsning av Marianne Fredrikssons roman Enligt Maria Magdalena och Lukasevangeliet, undersöka hur Fredriksson transformerat Jesu liv och gÀrning frÄn den bibliska berÀttelsen till romanen, samt vad som hÀnder med historien nÀr en kvinna fÄr ÄterberÀtta den. Materialet analyseras med hjÀlp av Gerard Genettes narratologiska begreppsapparat och utifrÄn ett intersektionellt perspektiv. Resultatet tolkas sedan genuskritiskt utifrÄn Yvonne Hirdmans teori om det ahistoriska genuskontraktet. Slutligen diskuteras studiens relevans för och i den svenska skolan.Studien visar att Fredriksson aldrig Àmnat skriva en roman om Jesu liv och gÀrning, utan snarare om Marias liv och Jesu gÀrning. Marias version av ?allt det stora som hÀnde? prÀglas av ett intersektionellt förhÄllningssÀtt, bÄde nÀr det kommer till hennes egna och Jesus vÀrderingar, som strÀcker sig lÄngt utöver normen för den aktuella tiden.

Fundamentalism och terrorism ur strukturella förÀndringar, förhindrad subjektivitet, produktion och reproduktion av diskurser Ett alternativt analytiskt ramverk för konfliktlösning
This essay criticizes common theories within the three traditional perspectives, conflict management, conflict resolution and conflict transformation, for not being able to explain and/or generate solutions to the problems of fundamentalism and religious terrorism in a satisfying manner. This essay is trying to synthesize an alternative analytical framework that better can explaining these phenomena and generate potential solutions. The frameworks ontological ground is laid out using different readings of Foucault, thereby seeing the subject as formed by discourses, material processes and institutions. Fundamentalism and terrorism are seen as a violent resistance to repressed subjectivity, but the form of resistance depends on the discursive and non discursive surroundings. This gives rise to different forms of resistance; the production of discourses and founding of groups and the entry of marginalized people in these groups.
Skolhuset - idéer, avsikter och debatter kring skolhusets fysiska miljö i tidskriften LÀrarnas Tidning - Svensk Skoltidning 1962-1974
In this study I examine the debates, intentions and ideas concerning the physical and created schoolroom as they appeared in the journal LĂ€rarnas Tidning - Svensk Skoltidning (Teachers Journal ? Swedish School journal) during the period 1962-1974. The built and created school building and its environment has been a relatively neglected topic in Swedish pedagogical research.When the Swedish comprehensive system transformed during the sixties, with new curricula and a common nine year school, many school professionals realised the need for a new and pedagogically adjusted schoolhouse.The early seventies marked a decline after a ten year period with an extensive building program affecting large parts of Sweden, and where schoolhouses had been an important part. The debate concerning the new Swedish school building was sometimes inspired and refreshing, but resistance and bitterness was also expressed. In part, this should be seen against the backdrop of the introduction of a new educational system, using new and sometimes untested pedagogical ideas, together with the fast transformation of the Swedish society.The research method is an exploratory textual analysis focused on five different issues: ideas concerning community centres and integration, participatory and democratic issues about the built environment, the school building as a pedagogical tool, aesthetic considerations, and the working environment.
