The aim of this master thesis is to examine which criteria are generally used to guide pub­lic librarians in their acquisitions' decision. The study went ahead in France, principally at La Bibliotheque municipale de Lyon. It also includes a view of some special library services in the social field.Twenty persons were interviewed and an attempt was made to divide their answers into three sections: acquisition routines and criteria for media purchase, how to receive the library visi­tors and their influence on the acquisitions, and, finally, the librarians' own opinions on the matter. One important question was whether censorship is applied and in that case, would it be a deliberately way of acting or rather a spontaneous reaction, more or less unconscious.Censorship in real or manifested through a self-preservative reaction turned out to be a factor closely dependant on the library's financial situation. Huvudsyftet med detta arbete är att undersöka den temporära ljussättningen i stadsrummet. Uppsatsen består av två delar, där den första undersöker ljus, ljussättning i staden samt aspekter av mörker. Den andra delen behandlar temporär, tillfällig ljussättning och två städer, Lyon och Helsingborg, har studerats och redovisas som referensobjekt..

Överallt i samhället finns det funktioner som verkar för att styra individer i olika riktningar och mycket av det vi gör under en vanlig dag kan följas upp och kontrolleras. I denna studie kartläggs likheter och skillnader i individers uppfattning om kontroll inom respektive utanför arbetslivet i syfte att bidra till teorier om kontroll. En studie har genomförts inom en organisation där individer intervjuats om hur de uppfattar kontroll på sin arbetsplats och om hur de uppfattar kontroll utanför arbetslivet. Det finns forskare som menar att medverkan, kommunikation, berättigande samt gynnsamhet är faktorer som påverkar hur individer uppfattar kontroll inom arbetslivet. Forskare som istället fokuserat på kontrollfunktioner utanför arbetslivet menar att det som påverkar hur individer uppfattar dem är medverkan, berättigande och gynnsamhet.
