Physical activity is required for a good health and science shows a clear connection between exercise and a lower risk for disease. Still, the physical activity among the population is far from good. It is the individuals own responsibility to exercise, but the society also has a responsibility to give opportunities to exercise for the population. The aim with the study was to investigate what motivated the group of physical active people to use the Central hospital in Kristianstad?s health program.

Background: First Line Managers are expected to create a health promoting work environment. Research has shown that the prerequisites for accomplishing a health promoting leadership are not always the best. Aim: The aim was to elucidate the prerequisites for a health promoting leadership as First Line Manager at a University hospital in Sweden based on competence, role, support structures and own durability. Results: First Line Managers at the chosen hospital seems to have rather good conditions for conducting a health promoting leadership. All respondents did have a university degree and most thought that their competence corresponded well with the role.

Metod: Studien har utgått från både ett kvalitativt och kvantitativt angreppssätt och primärdata har främst samlats in genom intervjuer. Som fallstudieobjektet för värmepastörisering valdes Juicelinje aggregat 37 på Skånemejerier i Lunnarp och för kallpastörisering valdes pilotanläggningen Pastair P1, även den placerad i Lunnarp Slutsatser: I jämförelsen mellan de två teknikerna är energianvändningen större för värme- än för kallpastörisering.

This thesis investigates management accounting systems in a Swedish health care environment. Through a qualitative case study of an activity-based cost accounting system that was introduced in 1994 at S:t Görans Sjukhus, a large Stockholm hospital, the following questions are addressed: What benefits can an activity-based cost accounting system offer the Swedish health care providers? What are the potential problems impeding the implementation of such a system? Main findings: an activity-based cost accounting system can improve the understanding of where costs are generated in the production processes. Comparisons between alternative production processes are improved, and the data may serve as a basis for internal pricing measures. Concerning the second question, difficulty in reconciliating the principles of economic control with the culture present in a hospital is identified as the main obstacle to a new management accounting system..

Background: Studies have shown that 66 children and teenagers in Sweden suffers from brain tumor every year. Children and teenagers who can´t participate in the regular school for a longer time for whatever reason, have by the school law the right to education in hospitals or institutions. Education that take place in other places than school most try to follow the same guidelines as his/hers usual school.  This applies to students in elementary school, compulsory school, special school, Sami school, secondary school and upper secondary school.Purpose:  The purpose of this study was to find out how three teachers at a hospital school plans their work with children in grade from 1 to 3, who suffer from cancer, especially brain tumor.  How can the teachers at the hospital school plan and organize their teaching so that it´s possible for the children whit brain tumor to feel as normal as possible. How does the common work between the consultant nurse, teachers at the hospitals and their ordinary school prevent the children to feel like an outsider?Method: I have chosen to do a qualitative study followed by three interviews whit three informants who works at a hospital school.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att genom patientjournaler undersöka hur mentalpatienter har behandlats vid Lunds hospital under åren 1879,1896 samt 1916. Det som undersökts är vilka personer som intogs för vård, vilka intagningsskälen var, vilken diagnos som tilldelades de intagna samt vilken behandling de sinnessjuka fick. Källmaterialet har bestått av patientjournaler från avgångna patienter och detta material finns på Arkivcentrum Syd i Lund. Metoden som jag använt mig av har gått ut på att gå igenom journalerna och undersöka vilka diagnoser som tilldelades de sjuka, hur långa vistelsetiderna var, kvinnornas ålder och civilstånd, vilka intagningsorsakerna var samt vilka behandlingar och mediciner som ordinerades. Resultaten av undersökningen räknades sedan ihop och sammanställdes i tabeller vilka ligger som bilagor i arbetet.

Uppsatsen tar sin utgångspunkt i den allt mer ökade efterfrågan av produkter som producerats i överensstämmelse med mänskliga rättigheter. Uppsatsen behandlar Lunds kommunstyrelses beslut att rekommendera dess förvaltningar att använda Rättvisemärkt kaffe och te. Syftet med uppsatsen är att se på vilket sätt, och i vilken omfattning beslutet har implementerats i organisationen. För detta har vi använt såväl en teoretisk referensram i form av nyinstitutionalistisk organisationsanalys som empiriskt material. Det empiriska materialet utgörs av interjuver med anställda inom kommunens förvaltningar. Till detta har ett bakgrundkapitel som behandlar den innehållsmässiga innebörden av begreppet hållbar utveckling, utifrån såväl en internationell, nationell som lokal aspekt lagts. Avslutningsvis är slutsatserna att det inom kommunen finns en konkret vilja att vidga innebörden av begreppet hållbar utveckling.

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to describe and compare the degree of selfreporting succession to the basal hygienic routines of emplyees working in municipal old peoples care versus hospital care. It is also to describe the access of material available in prevention of cross infections. The study was also carried out with a comparative and quantitative run up design. The study is based on a questionnaire in the district of Gävleborg in the spring of 2009. Nurses, auxiliaries and carers whom were in close contact with patients were asked to join the study.

Within the ambulance care in Uppsala County a vacuum splint is used to immobilize fractures on extremities. The research available on which method of immobilizing to prefer during pre-hospital treatment is limited. The purpose of this pilot study was to examine the perceptions of the ambulance personal in Uppsala County on the issue of usability of SAM-splint and vacuum splint when immobilizing extremities. The project was also aimed at researching if SAM-splint could be seen as an alternative or a complement to vacuum splint, and to get an apprehension on any evident differences in patients? perceived pain when treated with the two different approaches. A descriptive comparative study was carried out. All patients, regardless of age and sex, with the need of immobilizing supposed fractures, were included.  Patients with suspected femur fracture, collum fracture, or where pre-hospital care was not possible or in question, was excluded.

Our study is based on a number of specifically selected incidents which show the consequences these disruptions cause in management, security and quality within the operation. Our intention was also to examine what role the medical technology department of the hospital plays in the care production operation during these unplanned stoppages. Method:Through a qualitative study we have generated material from a number of interviews with staff working in the hospital of Kalmar.

Ulrich, Kaplan & Kaplan, among others, has shown in their research that nature can reduce stress and decrease the after effects of stress. Lund University Hospital, USiL, is a big working place and has a large number of patients. To be a patient often means that you lose control of your daily life which could cause stress. For the personnel high workload can be a stress factor.

Många människor lever idag i en miljö som uppmuntrar till stillasittande (inaktivitet) och som motverkar fysisk aktivitet vilket föranleder till att friskvårdsinterventioner behöver göras. Mot den bakgrunden var syftet att undersöka vad som är drivkraften till att utöva fysisk aktivitet hos anställda i Lunds kommun, samt anledningar till varför fysisk aktivitet inte utövas med tanke på det friskvårdserbjudande som finns att tillgå för de anställda. Populationen var N=229 med en svarsfrekvens på 62 %. Metoden var enkätundersökning med hög andel fasta svarsalternativ. Analysverktyget var SPSS och de analyser som användes för att ta fram den deskriptiva statistiken var crosstabulationer.
