The following article consists of two parts; one part is about house construction and the other is a specialization about radon. The house construction part describes how to project a house from start. It contains the conformation of the house, the installations needed, calculations considering the strength of the construction, energy calculation and what materials were chosen. Calculations considering the costs of building and operate the house has been carried out. The result showed that the house would cost approximately two million Swedish kroner to build and thirteen thousand kronor a year to operate.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate what functions the public library has for parents of small children. If and how they make use of the library and what their opinion is about it. The research questions are: Which functions does the public library have for parents of small children? How do parents of small children use the library and what opinion do they have about it? Which factors have an impact on the parents of small children and how do they influence their use of and opinion about the public library and the functions of the library? The theoretical approach is based on Henrik Jochumsen and Casper Hvenegaard Rasmussen?s model of the social room and the lifestyles and Marianne Andersson and Dorte Skot-Hansen?s model of the public library?s functions. To answer our research questions we have made seven qualitative interviews with parents of small children.

The purpose of this study is to examine web-based recruitment to short term summer jobs at the SocialServices Department in Luleå municipality in Sweden. Recruitment goals, selection options on therecruitment homepage Offentliga Jobb and recruitment practices were analysed in order to reach a deeperunderstanding of the interactions between these three levels in the selection process. Pre-selection throughOffentliga Jobb was a special concern of the study. Different consciousness levels in the selection process areemphasised according to Anthony Giddens' structuration theory. Ten recruiters from different parts of thedepartment were interviewed.

CSR, Corporate Social Responsibility, has become increasingly important in a globalised world where the responsibilities of companies and governments are somewhat blurry. The textile industry is an industry where long supply chains and raw material production in developing countries are factors adding to the complexity and difficulties of solving ethical issues. Cotton production faces many environmental, social and financial challenges in the value chain. Therefore this case study takes a closer look at five Nordic home textile companies, Ikea, Hemtex, S Group, Moko and Finlayson, and how these companies choose their cotton related CSR tools and communicate their work on this area. These companies are of various sizes and therefore the resources for CSR work are also different, as well as the perceived values for working with CSR.

Syftet med denna undersökning är att öka förståelsen för hur anställda balanserar arbete och övrigt liv med fokus på de privata angelägenheter som görs på arbetstid. Jag vill ta reda på hur de anställda rättfärdigar dessa handlingar och även undersöka om det finns skillnader mellan män och kvinnor när det gäller vad man gör av privat karaktär på arbetstid och uppfattningen kring det. Teoriavsnittet utgörs av i huvudsak två teman. Det ena temat är Work-Life Balance och tar upp bakgrund till fenomenet, konflikter mellan livets sfärer, de alltmer oklara gränserna mellan arbete och övrigt liv samt ett avsnitt om uppdelningen av hushållssysslor i ett förhållande. Det andra temat berör utförandet av privata angelägenheter på arbetstid och behandlar forskning kring detta ämne samt teoretiska förklaringar kring detta beteende.

On the 15th of May 2011 the former leader of the International Monetary Fund, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, was accused of sexually assaulting a maid in a hotel room in New York. Strauss-Kahn was cleared of all charges on the 23rd of August 2011 since it could not be proven that he had forced the maid to have sexual relations with him.The purpose of this study is to examine how the case was framed in two Swedish newspapers, Svenska Dagbladet and Aftonbladet. Svenska Dagbladet is a broadsheet newspaper and Aftonbladet is a tabloid newspaper. The purpose of this study is also to find differences and similarities in the framing of the case in broadsheet newspapers and tabloid newspapers.The study is primarily based on two different theories; the framing theory and the tabloidization theory. The method used is critical discourse analysis based on van Dijks theories and methods.

Patienter som är inlagda på vårdavdelningar på sjukhus har olika upplevelser av rummets utformning och inredning. Vår erfarenhet är att patientrum har vita väggar, textilier med diskreta färger och inga tavlor. Vad kännetecknar en utformning och inredning som är hälsobringande för patienten? En omgivning som människor är tillfreds med skapar balans i tillvaron och stärker det psykiska välbefinnandet och den fysiska hälsan. En viss form av arkitektur kan också bidra till uppkomsten av stress.

Syftet med denna studie är att synliggöra pedagogernas arbete med matematik i förskolans inomhusmiljö med barn i åldern 4 - 5 år. Utgångspunkt för synliggörande är Lpfö 98/10 mål och uttrycksformer i matematik. Förhoppningen är att resultatet från undersökningen kan ligga till grund för att utveckla verksamheten. För att nå syftet har följande frågeställningar använts:1. Hur arbetar pedagogerna med barns matematiklärande? Vilket matematikinnehåll? Vilka uttrycksformer?2.

Syftet med undersökningen är att kartlägga skaderiskerna med att arbeta som marin maskinpersonal och jämföra skaderisken med anställda som har liknande arbeten iland. Undersökningen inbegriper även att kartlägga vilka typer av arbetsskador, som ger de mest allvarliga konsekvenserna för den anställde i förhållande till hur vanlig olyckan är.Undersökningen är en litteraturstudie där Arbetsmiljöverkets arbetsskadeanmälningar utgör grundmaterialet, där totalt 198 arbetsskador behandlades och kategoriserades. Transportstyrelsens statistik för ombordanställda jämfördes med Arbetsmiljöverket och Statistiska centralbyrån statistik över anställda iland. Detta för att se vilken yrkeskategori som hade högst skaderisk.Resultatet av undersökningen visar att arbetsolyckor under kategorierna ?Bära? och ?Halka/Snubbla/Trilla? och arbetssjukdomar under kategorin ?Tunga lyft/Arbetsställningar? är de arbetsskador, som ger de mest allvarliga konsekvenserna i förhållande till hur vanlig arbetsskadan är.

IntroduktionFetma är ett globalt problem som drabbar fler och fler människor och länder. Både samhällen och enskilda individer söker lösningar för att komma till bukt med problemet som fetma är. Överviktskirurgi är idag den mest effektiva behandlingen mot fetma och sleeve gastrectomy är en av överviktskirurgins tekniker som enligt experter kan ha en klar fördel jämfört med andra tekniker. Det behövs idag fler studier gjorda på sleeve gastrectomy och även på dess påverkan på patienternas kosthållning innan metoden kan accepteras i vardagligt kliniskt bruk i Sverige.SyfteSyftet med studien är att kartlägga överviktspatienters kostvanor sex månader efter det kirurgiska ingreppet sleeve gastrectomy.Metod och Material217 överviktspatienter som genomgått sleeve gastrectomy har sex månader efter operationen besvarat en enkät gällande deras måltidsmönster, livsmedelsval och sensoriska förändringar av matupplevelsen. Svaren bearbetades och utmynnade i deskriptiv statistik.ResultatResultaten visar att en patient som genomgått sleeve gastrectomy i genomsnitt äter fem av sex rekommenderade måltider per dag sex månader postoperativt. Den måltid som flest patienter äter dagligen är frukost tätt följt av middag och lunch.

The aim of this master's thesis is to study how the design of the music library space affects how it is used and its role as an arena for culture. This is done in form of a case study of Library 10 in Helsinki, a public library branch that specializes in music and information technology. The backdrop to the study is the changing context for cultural activity in the information society and the role of public libraries as public space and meeting place. By analyzing the distribution of space in the library, the distribution of functions and artefacts and the spatial use of the room, I interpret the ways in which this distributional logic produces a unique place for music and culture. I discuss the music library design in a space and place perspective, utilizing theoretical tools from cultural geography and the space theories of Henri Lefebvre.

Syftet med denna studie är att utforma ett förslag på hur ett informationsmaterial om tvättstugan kan utformas så att även invandrade med begränsade eller inga färdigheter i svenska språket kan läsa och förstå. Studien avser även söka svar på huruvida ett sådant informationsmaterial kan påverka negativa beteenden associerade med användning av gemensamma tvättstugor, och till vilken grad. Detta eftersom informationsmaterialet är menat att bidra till att förebygga felanvändning av utrustning, samt bristande hänsyn till regler i tvättstugan. Den empiriska grunden utgörs primärt av problemsökande intervjuer genomförda med både boende och anställda hos Kommunfastigheter i Eskilstuna. Intervjuerna visar att det förekommer många olika problem i de gemensamma tvättstugorna, samt att det finns tecken på att det kan behövas ett bättre anpassat informationsmaterial.

A qualitative interview studyon how special senior housing affects the experience of well-being of elderly deaf [translated title]The purpose of the study was to examine how elderly deaf people experience living in aspecial senior housing, which is the country?s first and only housing with sign language fordeaf and deafblind in the region of Stockholm. The focus was to study how this seniorhousing affected the well-being of the residents and their experience of this accommodation.The study was based on a qualitative method with semi-structured interviews. Interviews wereconducted with four residents who have lived in the senior housing for deaf and deafblindpeople since it opened in spring 2013.

The use of spread spectrum signals has increased dramatically in military applications. Finding methods for detecting and positioning of these signals have become interesting research areas for signal intelligence purposes. One method is to measure the time difference of arrival (TDOA) that occurs when two receivers are synchronous and spatially separated. Based on the TDOA-technique an audio-demonstrator has been developed and implemented. This report describes the theory for how sound received in microphones can be used to extract information about the transmitter?s position from the measured time difference.

The history of Banu Umayya has since the collapse of the caliphate occupied a major part in Islamic historiography. The present thesis analyses the presentation of the Umayyads in Ibn Khaldun?s al-Muqaddima and its relation to previous historical traditions. The thesis examines the social and intellectual context in which Ibn Khaldun stood and how it is represented in his historiography, while also providing an overview of the various socio-political, intellectual and historiographical developments in Islam. The theoretical perspectives are based on the concept of agency, examining the intellectual room for manoeuvre that the historian disposed of while composing the works.
