Sweden has for years been struggling with high youth unemployment. The problem is also a hot topic of discussion among experts and politicians, often leading to different proposals to solve the problem. The government chose in 2006 to do something about youth unemployment by lowering payroll taxes for employees up to 25 years. But many experts and studies show that the effects failed to materialize.This study will try to find out if the government subsidies have given any effect on the youth unenployment either by new jobs created or by movement in the labor force. I will use a regression model with an dependent, "difference in difference" variable where the change in the number of employed young people are compared to the change in the number of employed in the subsequent age group.The results show that subsidies are not given any positive effect on the youth employment rate in relation to the subsequent age group..

ICA is the largest general dealer in the Swedish market as well as the largest supplier to the independent ICA-dealers. The principal and one of the biggest stakeholders of this thesis is the department Supply Chain Development who is responsible for the development of ICA?s Supply Chain.The purpose of this study is to examine how ICA?s sales are affected by weather and to make recommendations on how ICA should proceed with its work regarding this issue. By leveraging their forecasts by including weather, ICA hopes that their logistical metrics amount of spoilage, service levels and number of inventory days will improve. This thesis describes how ICA is working with weather currently, and furthermore it discusses the existing literature within this area.

This paper aims to investigate abnormal returns for rivals to bidder targets in connection with the announcement of the bid. The study is based on 38 bids placed between September 2006 - January 2011 and 137 rival firms listed on Nasdaq OMX Nordic. We measure cumulative abnormal returns, CAR, for rival firms through an event study. We find that rival firms earn significant positive CAR in connection with the announcement of the bid. This is in line with the two-sided signaling effect presented by Akhigbe et al.

Den 1 augusti 2012 infördes en skatt på finansiella transaktioner i Frankrike. Detta är ett av många exempel, nuvarande och i planeringsstadiet, på fenomenet där ekonomiska marknader beläggs med skatt. Hur detta påverkar marknaden är vad denna uppsats ämnar studera då tidigare teori och empiri pekar åt olika håll. För att uppnå detta syfte undersöks hur likviditeten och volatiliteten påverkades i anslutning till skattens införande i Frankrike. Likviditeten uppskattas genom spreaden samt handelsvolymen.

I denna studie har vi haft som avsikt att jämföra två modeller som förklarar avkastningen på aktiemarknaden. Modellerna är Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM) och Fama-French trefaktormodell(FF3). Undersökningen har gjorts på Nasdaq OMX Nordic Stockholm över perioden 2002 till 2012. Vi har valt att göra denna undersökning för att se huruvida FF3 med två extra faktorer kan förklara avkastningen på aktiemarknaden bättre än CAPM. Sex portföljer konstruerades och vi har visat att FF3 statistiskt signifikant förklarar mer än CAPM för fem av sex portföljer.

The reason is that they are not aware of that psychological decision traps exist. If so, it can lead to pernicious consequences for the return on the portfolios they manage. Purpose: To investigate if investors fall into four different psychological decisions traps: anchoring, confirming evidence, overconfidence and regression towards mean, at investments in IPOs Method: We have collected data through a form of experiment.

Transporter som utnyttjar en kombination av olika transportslag, så kallade intermodala transporter, spås bli allt viktigare i framtiden och motiveras med både miljömässiga som ekonomiska incitament. Kombiterminaler spelar en central roll för denna utveckling och tillväxten av antalet kombiterminaler i Sverige har de senaste åren varit stark. Syftet med den här rapporten är att kartlägga betydande aspekter vid utvecklingen och etableringen av ett samarbetsprojekt inom logistik på regional nivå samt ta reda på hur ett sådant projekt påverkas av tidigare försök och erfarenheter. För att besvara forskningsfrågorna har vi valt att studera Skaraborg Logistic Center (SLC) i Falköping. Genom flertalet intervjuer med personer, som på endera sättet varit involverad i utvecklingsarbetet av SLC, har vi redogjort för hur utvecklings- och implementeringsprocessen sett ut.

Denna uppsats undersöker sambanden mellan ett antal ekonomiska variabler och den nominella växelkursen på kort sikt mellan Kanada och Japan. Resultaten av den ekonometriska analysen av sambanden mellan växelkursen och de oberoende variablerna ränteskillnad, börsutveckling och oljepris ger svaga resultat på dagsbasis över hela perioden första januari 2001 till sista oktober 2005. Under delar av perioden verkar dock ett visst samband föreligga vilket påvisas med rullande regression. Detta antyder att valutamarknadens fokus inte är konstant utan att vissa variabler stundtals är viktigare för växelkursutvecklingen än vad de är sett över hela perioden. En trendvariabel har under delar av perioden en signifikant påverkan på växelkursen, vilket förevisar att den nominella växelkursens utveckling inte alltid följer en random walk..

Previous research has shown that there is a relationship between trust and organizational commitment. Our research questions were if the three trust-variables ability, benevolence and integrity predict organizational commitment differently. Further we examined if the length of employment affected the relationship between benevolence and organizational commitment. Due to the fact that past studies has shown that benevolence develop during a longer period of time than do the other trust-variables. We made a survey using questionnaires (n=50) in a ?caretaking facility? and using a multiple regression analysis we found that ability was a significant predictor (p=0.032) for organizational commitment.

As a company it is required to work with strategies to minimize costs such as packaging and logistic costs. The increased market of industrial produced wooden buildings results that the time and the cost which the packaging of prefabricated building elements consume, is experienced to be in greater need of development than before and demands a better solution. The aim with this dissertation was to discover how the development of the handling of the packaging can improve the packaging process. The goal was to present improvement proposals for a simplified and thereby a more efficient production in time and cost perspective.The packaging process which includes packaging, handling, storage and transport were studied. Interviews were made with participants from the market for manufacturers of wooden houses and a case study was made at the company A-hus.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur inkomstspridningen och inkomströrligheten i Sverige utvecklades i början av 2000-talet. Särskilt fokus läggs på att följa utvecklingen för den del av befolkningen som har lägst inkomster.Resultaten visar att både realinkomster och inkomstspridning har ökat i Sverige under det tidiga 2000-talet, även djupet av fattigdom mätt som avstånd till fattigdomsgränsen har ökat. Med hjälp av logistisk regression med oddskvoter undersöks vilka individer som hade störst chans att lämna fattigdom 2005. Dessa individer var framförallt unga, svenskfödda, de som blivit sambo mellan åren, de med arbete eller som fått arbete och de vars barn lämnat hushållet. De som löpte högst risk att hamna i permanent fattigdom var utlandsfödda, ensamstående, arbetslösa och de som fått fler barn i hushållet..

The composition of the board of directors and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) are two widely researched subject and discussed by the media. This study aims to examine the impact of the board of directors' composition on CSR performance among the largest companies listed on Nasdaq OMX stock exchange 2008 in Stockholm, Sweden. A linear regression analysis is applied to investigate the relationship and evidence is found that board attributes have an effect on CSR performance. Among these; the size of the board, outside directors and employee representatives all have a positive impact on environmental performance. Furthermore; female, outside directors and employee representatives have a positive impact on social performance.

Theories about exposure and risk-taking in an everyday environment show a connection between parental strategies, parent-child relationship and exposure on the Internet. In the present study, the Internet is presented as an everyday activity. Negative exposure is seen as an outcome of risk-taking. The purpose of the study was to examine in what way parental strategies together with the parent-child relationship were related to the teenagers? negative experiences on the Internet, which consisted of three categories: 1) Exposure to pornographic sites, 2) Exposure to upsetting and violent material, 3) Digital bullying.
