Syftet med denna undersökning var att beskriva och få en fördjupad förståelse i hur musikundervisning i klass på gymnasiets musikestetiska program kan bidra till ett ökat självförtroende och dess betydelse för lärandet hos den enskilde eleven. Frågeställningarna har främst fokuserat på begreppet självförtroende, hur det ses på av olika lärare samt hur de förhåller sig till detta i sin undervisning. Vidare ville vi undersöka huruvida ett negativt självförtroende påverkar elevens prestationer inom klassundervisningssammanhang på gymnasiets musikestetiska program samt om det finns verktyg som lärarna använder sig av för att öka elevernas självförtroende. Studien genomfördes i form av fyra stycken kvalitativa intervjuer med verksamma musiklärare inom gymnasiets musikestetiska program. Vi har bland annat kommit fram till att de intervjuade inte känner till någon specifik forskningsteoretiskt förankrad metodik, men har dock alla utvecklat egna sätt för att bibehålla eller stärka sina elevers självförtroende inom klassundervisning i musik..

Detta examensarbete utfördes på IDA (Institutionen för datavetenskap) vid Linköpings universitet. Syftet med det här examensarbetet var att utveckla ett program som skulle skapa förutsättningar för generativ konst med hjälp av MyPaint som är ett digitalt rit/målarverktyg. Metoden gick ut på att registrera vad användaren skapat för komponenter, dvs. musinteraktioner och kortkommandon, och därefter använda dem algoritmiskt.Examensarbetet resulterades i ett program (SharpArt), som fångar musinteraktioner samt simulerar tangentbordstryckningar (kortkommandon) från och till Mypaint, vilket i sin tur skapar komponenter som används algoritmiskt. Programmet kan även positionera objektet på canvasen enligt det önskade koordinatvärdet..

In Swedish school library research, the role of the school library has seldom been studied in a subject-specific context. When it has been, the subject has usually been a theoretical subject such as Swedish or Social studies. The purpose of this master's thesis is to study what role or roles the school library can play in a different context, in the program-specific subjects at a trade oriented program in the Swedish upper secondary school, and to determine what factors affect the possibility for the school library to play a role in such a context. The Food Programme was selected as the specific program to be studied. In this program, the students learn a trade, in this case bakery, and the teaching in the program-specific subjects can be expected to be practical in nature.

  ABSTRACTThere is a limited possibility for many of the concert-goers to go behind the stage and follow the work process with putting together a program for the concert season in a concert institution. The purpose of this study is to describe a concert institution's work with developing a concert program for each season. This is done through a presentation of the factors affecting the work. This is a descriptive essay and a case study of the Malmö Symphony Orchestra. Interviews have been made with people directly involved in the work or affected by the outcome of the work process.

Varje år tar två sjökaptensprogram, ett fyraårigt program med fartygsförlagd utbildning och ett treårigt program som kräver att studenten har tidigare erfarenhet av arbete som matros, examen från Sjöfartshögskolan i Kalmar. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur de nyutexaminerade styrmännen upplevde sin första tid i yrket som styrman, om de hade de nödvändiga förkunskaperna för att klara av sitt jobb och om det skilde sig mellan styrmännen från de olika programmen. För att undersöka detta användes en kvalitativ metod där personliga intervjuer genomfördes. Tio styrmän, fem från varje program, som tagit examen från Sjöfartshögskolan i Kalmar våren 2012 valdes slumpvis ut för intervjuer. Resultatet från intervjuerna visade att styrmännen var nöjda med sina förkunskaper från Sjöfartshögskolan i Kalmar.

The purpose of this study is to examine the implementation of the Convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women, CEDAW, in Uppsala local council and county council. The aim is to examine how the respondents, in their daily work, understand and implement the convention as well as how they consider the prerequisites for a successful implementation. The study was conducted using qualitative interviews with three civil servants and four politicians. The theoretical approach was implementation theory whose concepts willingness, comprehension and capability were used as tools for the analysis. The results portray CEDAW as a well-known treaty amongst the respondents but at the same time absent in local politics and everyday work.

The aim of this thesis is to study a job-searching process and elements that affects it. The elements I have focused on are gender, class and social network. The study is based on interviews and a survey study with students from the educational program of Social work (Socialomsorgsutbildningen), that graduated 3 years ago. Through the survey I have examined their social-background and their job-searching process. The interviews are the main focus in the study.

Light pollution in urban areas - How to prevent light pollution at construction Jakob Sjöling Light pollution is a relatively new but rapidly growing form of pollution. Society's increasing demand for light coupled with the pace at which lighting technology evolves is accelerating that growth. The purpose of this study was to analyse how the construction industry plan and design outdoor lighting when erecting new buildings, specifically with regards to the issue of light pollution. It also investigated how local authorities work with these issues during urban planning. In both cases special interest was placed in ways to improve the planning and use of outdoor lighting in order to minimize light pollution.

The market offers more and more products that are claimed to have medicallypositive effects (like increased blood perfusion etc.) due to their magneticproperties. The objective of this study was to investigate if blankets containingpermanent (static) magnets have a greater impact on cutaneous blood circulationthan ordinary blankets without magnets. Eight standard bred horses were used in across-over study. The cutaneous temperature was presumed to reflect blood flowin the skin and therefore thermography and local thermistors were used to indicatechanges in circulation. Baseline values were registered before the blanket wasapplied.

Studiens syfte var att undersöka hur olika trädgårdsrelaterade program inom kriminalvård kan vara utformade och hur dessa program påverkar de intagna. Studien är designad som en litteraturstudie kompletterad med intervjuer och erfarenhetsberättelser från intagna och personal på fängelser. I resultatet framkom att trädgårdsterapi och trädgårdsrelaterade aktiviteter inom kriminalvård kan vara utformade i rehabiliterande syfte, som yrkes- eller utbildningsinriktade program, arbete eller som alternativ till annan sysselsättning. Erfarenheter från personal och intagna samt forskning visar i denna studie att trädgårdsterapi och trädgårdsrelaterade aktiviteter inom kriminalvård kan gynna de intagna. Hälsoeffekter som framkom var bland annat bättre samarbetsförmåga, ökad socialisering och minskad stress.

Background: Sleep-disturbances in persons with Alzheimer´s disease are prevalent. They are characterized as increased frequency and duration of awakenings, decreased slow-wave sleep, REM-sleep and increase of day-time napping. Depression and lower quality of life are associated with sleep-disturbances. Altogether a significant source of stress for caregivers and an important factor in institutionalization. Non-pharmacological treatment alternatives are rare.Method: Single-case A-B-C design, with non-concurrent multiple baselines, a pilotstudy.Aim: To explore if an educational program on sleep, sleep disturbances and behavioural change directed towards caregivers improved sleep, depression and quality of life in persons with Alzheimer´s disease living at home.

All over the world, scientists agree that to succeed with a conservation project, it is important to have a good relationship with the local people. If they do not receive a good impression of the project, they will not be willing to collaborate and the project will probably fail. According to previous studies, there are different factors affecting attitudes to conservation, like the level of education of the participant. Many studies have shown that the higher education the people have, the more positive attitude they have to adjacent conservation areas. Economical factors are also important, it is often stated that having more money results in a better attitude.

Durban, South Africa?s third-largest city is a socially segregated post apartheid society, struggling with high unemployment and AIDS. The city becomes even more complex with a changing climate, creating an influx of people to the city, putting scarce resources under further stress. Warwick Junction, an important transport hub in the centre of Durban, holds a large site of informal trading alongside the formal markets. This informal sector generates large financial flows and provides for a rapidly growing population. The aim of this thesis is to develop an approach that is realistic and relevant to planning and design of an urban context in South Africa.
