The purpose of this study was to describe, understand and analyze the thought behind the perception amongst pedagogues´ on multicultural work in preschools, based on an intercultural perspective. In this study, I questioned the pedagogues´ view on the work in preschools that prepares children for a life in a multicultural society and also the way they describe the cultural challenges.The study was accomplished and questions were answered by studying current literature and previous research in the field. I also interviewed four pedagogues from two different preschools located in separate areas.This study shows that many opinions that pedagogues expressed in the interviews can be traced back to an ?us vs. them? perspective, in which your own culture, the Swedish one in this case, is the most critical and should receive the greatest attention in preschool.

Sustainable development has become more and more important over the past years. The term Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is closely connected to sustainable development and focuses on organizations responsibility towards the society and the environment in which it exists. Companies within the mining industry were among the first to initiate CSR-work due to the fact that they have a great impact at the local community, both socially and environmentally. Today they are still in the forefront of the development of CSR-questions in general, and community involvement and development in particular. Earlier studies made on this area have focused on the strategic level of community involvement and development.

Certain types of waste, e.g. bottom ash originating from municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI bottom ash) can be used as road construction materials. A potential problem is the possibility of substances leaching out of the road and spreading in the surrounding groundwater.The aim of this master?s thesis is to conclude whether hydrogeological type settings can be employed to, based on local conditions, provide an estimate of the probable spreading of these substances in the surrounding groundwater, and whether certain types of soils can be identified as being less suitable for the localization of a MSWI bottom ash road. A hydrogeological type setting is defined as a mappable unit with similar hydrogeological properties.

The right usage of tacit and explicit knowledge is becoming increasingly important for businesses worldwide. This thesis searches the answer to how management consultants tackle the challenges originating from converting this type of knowledge into codified use. With the help of a case study analysis it was possible to gain special insight into the processes of knowledge collection, codification and re-usage at a major organization built upon knowledge utilization. In order to provide the reader with a wider picture, the main subject of the study has been analyzed from two perspectives: a practice based and an objective based perspective. Furthermore, two different types of knowledge, tacit and explicit have been differentiated and studied in relation to each other, to gain a better understanding of their origin and conversion process.

In light of the European Union`s 2012 theme year: Active aging and solidarity between generations I wished to gain an understanding of weather elderly immigrant are provided with equal possibilities and access to local community information as the majority population and their participation in activities arranged for senior citizens in the municipality where they live. I have done this by meeting with those who work in this capacity. I also chose to meet with representatives for immigrant organizations in the local community to enquire of their work with senior citizens within their own ethnic group. This is a qualitative study on a phenomenological ground based on nine interviews and four observations. I have had two theories to help me analyze my empirical material.

This essay analyzes three Swedish cartoon artists: Elias Ericson, Lisa Ewald and AmandaCasanellas. The aim is to examine how they construct feminist strategies through their workand how they convey this visually. The issue of whether these Swedish cartoons can be seenas a part of a bigger political platform is central. Through semiotics and post-colonial andqueer feminist theory, some answers to these questions are searched for.The result shows that all three of the artists can be seen in a bigger activist context, even ifthey work in and through different platforms. Syftet med följande studie är att undersöka huruvida universitetsstudenter finner fenomenet konkurrens stressande och isåfall hur detta manifesteras i olika konkurrenspräglade situationer. För att ta reda på detta intervjuades 9 universitets-studenter någonstans i Sverige där de fick besvara 13 frågor om hur de upplevde konkurrens i sin essens, i utbildningen samt i arbetslivet. Det visade sig att studenterna ansåg sig kunna uppleva en viss form och nivå av stress i samtliga konkurrenskategorier, men stressen var som mest framträdande då det gäller att behöva tävla med sina medmänniskor, framförallt i arbetssökarprocessen. Det kan i och med följande studie bekräftas att konkurrens har en betydande, och oftast negativ, inverkan på studenters mentala hälsa då man uppgav att man i konkurrenspräglade situationer kunde uppleva nervositet, oro, frustration och/ eller självförakt..

A year has passed and the integration process is making progress but it is perceived to lack some momentum. The Swedish mental hospitals existed for about one hundred years, the period around 1880-1980. The research is intended to be from a local setting perspective to study the local approach used to meet requirements from Furunäsets mental hospital principals 1960 - 1972, the effect this had on the care and treatment of mentally ill patients and how Swedish society's changing approach to mental health influenced the process. The results of the research showed that Furunäset searched for ways to meet the principals' requirements which often went against the patients? personal best. Furunäsets mental hospital strove to fulfill its institutional goals in them selves rather than giving patients the care and treatment they needed.
