In Sweden, responsibility for the collection and recycling of packaging and newspapers lies with the producers. Therefore, the major producers created a jointcollection with 5800 recycling stations. The stations are the responsibility of a coordinating body, Förpacknings och Tidningsinsamlingen (FTI) which ensures Government regulations are adhered to by the producers.In 2006, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) carried out an evaluation of the collection of packaging and newspapers. EPA´s research showedthat 80 percent of households were satisfied with the collection but that there were also shortcomings, including problems with littering at the recycling stations.We have tried to approach the litter issue from different angles in order to suggestpossible measures to reduce the problem. An important aspect proved to be uncertainties regarding the concept of operators.As there are currently many parties involved in the collection process this lead to the issue of who is legally considered as the operator of the recycling stations.

The pig is unique in the way that it gives birth to a large number of newborns in each litter. Because of this the sow has developed a special behaviour during suckling to ensure that not only a part of the litter gets all the milk. Milk is only available during milk letdown. The piglets have to massage the udder for a long time before letdown and the more piglets at the udder the sooner the milk comes. The sow has developed a special grunting pattern to let the piglets know when she is ready for suckling and to signal milk letdown. Our aim with this study was to investigate if sows have individual grunting patterns repeated over time. We also wanted to know if sows with a more distinct grunting pattern have better growth in their litters.

Essän är en reflektion som drivs fram av tvivel, missnöje och förhoppningar. I försöket att svara på frågan: Vad är scenografi? blir essän en beskrivning över hur min kunskap kring teaterscenografi har byggts upp. Den beskriver även min förhoppning av vad scenografen och scenografin kan bidra med i en utveckling av teatern och jag föreslår ett tillvägagångssätt.Sven-Åke Heed hänför teatern till de föreställande konsterna och låter mimesis i Aristoteles beskrivning, som en imitation av handlingar ge oss en av förutsättningarna för scenografens arbete. Konsekvenserna av detta framgår i beskrivningen av mitt arbete som scenograf.Genom en hermeneutisk rörelse mellan delar och helhet inom både scenografin och scenografens arbetsmiljö och den större helheten teaterförställningen, klarnar bilden och scenografens nödvändiga kunskaper framträder.Scenografen använder kunskaper och färdigheter från teoretisk - vetenskaplig kunskap - episteme, även om den inte har en framträdande roll i arbetet.

The number of weaned piglets per sow and year is a good measurement of sow productivity since it is affected by the number of piglets born alive, the pre weaning mortality (i.e. mortality of live born piglets between birth and weaning) and the number of litters per sow and year. This measure is also closely connected to the number of piglets produced per year, which partly determines the profitability of the piglet producer. During this study, eleven successful piglet-producing herds were visited. Eight of the producers were Swedish and three of the producers were Danish.

In the country of Jordan, egg production is very important economically, but several bacte-ria are involved in food borne diseases transmitted from eggs or other poultry products. The most important are Salmonella spp., Campylobacter jejuni and Escherichia coli. In Jordan two different housing systems are used for hens in large scale egg production; con-ventional cages and litter floor systems. Eggs from four different farms were analysed and compared to see if a difference could be found regarding the presence of pathogenic bacte-ria on the egg surfaces between these two systems. Stage Design is design for action and contains décor, side-scenes and properties, as well as costume and grease-paint. Half of Sweden?s 140 000-150 000 sows are culled and replaced by 75 000 gilts annually. Culling of old sows is necessary and allows new breeding material to enter the herd. However, many of the culled sows are young, and have not yet become profitable at the time for culling. Therefore, it is an important question for the pig industry, how to raise gilts to sows with a high and sustainable production level.

Barren rearing environment and early weaning of piglets can lead to a high level of distress, behavioural disturbances and reduction in weight gain. The main aim of this thesis was to study the effects of potential enrichment objects on piglet?s behaviour and weight gain during the pre- and post-weaning period. The second aim was to examine what type of object stimulated the highest frequency of interaction. The study was carried out at the Swedish Livestock Research Centre in Lövsta where a batch of litters from 10 first-parity Yorkshire sows were used.

Mechanization of Swedish agriculture started in the beginning of the twentieth century, to be able to have more animals without raising the number of employers. The horse business has not by far kept up with these cost savings solutions. Cleaning out stables and feeding horses are the most time-consuming tasks in horse stables today. The most common way to clean out the stable is still by shovel and wheelbarrow. The clean out process can easily be mechanized through semi- permanently beds with movable walls between the boxes so that the litter can be removed by a tractor or a loader.

Fertilitetsegenskaper har ofta låga arvbarheter och selektion baserat på fenotyp är ofta ineffektiv och långsam. För att förbättra fertilitetsegenskaper som ovulationsmängd och kullstorlek hos får är det effektivast att selektera avelsdjur utefter deras genotyp. Olika mutationer i gener tillhörande transforming growth factor-? (TGF?) superfamiljen har visat sig påverka ovulationsmängd och kullstorlek hos får. Dessa gener är BMPR-1B, BMP15 och GDF9.

Hybrid betyder korsningsform. Jag vill i mitt examnesarbete korsa och förena de områden som intresserar mig mest yrkesmässigt: scenografi, utställningsdesign och uttrycksfull inredningsarkitektur. Jag har undersökt hur man kan tänka kring scenrummet och utställningsrummet och utvecklat ett rumsligt gestaltningskoncept utifrån de behov som finns i verksamheten på det nystartade Fisksätra Museum, i Nacka utanför Stockholm.Det rumsliga koncept jag tagit fram är föränderligt för att kunna fungera i olika typer av sammanhang ? för utställningar, scenlösningar och workshops. Väggar ska gå att flytta, spännande rumsligheter ska kunna skapas.
