Systemet utva?rderas i fo?rha?llande etablerade so?kstrategier hos 22 studenter. Resultaten visar att anva?ndandet av detta sto?dsystem inte bara minskar antalet steg markant utan a?ven minskar antalet tja?nster studenten anva?nder fo?r att info?rskaffa sin kurslitteratur ja?mfo?rt med studenters egna so?kstrategi idag..

The outdoor environment at Children's hospital, the University Hospital, Uppsala, is used by sick children at the Children's hospital, their families and the hospital staff. The staff at the Children's hospital wanted to render the site more attractive and available. This graduation thesis is a proposal about how the outdoor environment at the Children's hospital can be improved. The aim is to design an environment for the sick children, their families and the hospital staff that will serve as a place for relaxation and privacy, as well as for play and movement. In order to find support for the redesign of this site I read literature about theories concerning healing environments, healing gardens, children's play and designs for children.

This master thesis is aiming to find out how school libraries work towards children in school years 1-6. The mainfocus is how the school librarians and teachers work with literature and reading. The theoretical viewpoints aremainly the sociocultural theory and the child perspective.The study was conducted with participants from five different schools in Uppsala, in the form of qualitativesemi-structured interviews. The results show that schools work with literature first and foremost in a pragmaticway, with reading-strategies and activating discussions. Very little time is spent on reading for its own sake.

Jag har valt tre teman ur värdegrundsboken och jämför vad olika författare anser om dessa tre teman. Skolan kan inte undvika att fostra och socialisera, skolans socialiserande verksamhet innebär att förmedla kultur.Ett konstaterande är att skolans kultur och värdegemenskap förmedlande uppdrag är motsägelsefullt. Uppgiften som skolan har tilldelats av riksdagen är sammansatt av ett beständighets, kontinuitets och ett förändringsuppdrag. Det är tänkt att skolan ska spegla sitt samhälles historia och kultur genom att socialisera sina elever till svenska medborgare, samtidigt ska skolan vara visionär och därmed bana väg för ett framtida samhälle som på bestämda sätt skiljer sig från dagens. Det ställs krav på att personalen ska förmedla kulturellt bestämda värden och upprätta kultur som överensstämmer med dessa värden.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to investigate what kinds of writing activities that are offered to children and young people in Sweden and if, how and why libraries are involved with them. The issues illuminated in this thesis are how children and youth can be motivated and advance in their writing, what the purpose of writing activities can be, and if writing activities can be suitable as a part of the work in libraries. The theory is based on a study with writing youth made by Catharina Nyström. In order to study the issues six interviews have been completed with persons who all have played a part in writing activities for children and youth.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to investigate the information use in teacher education students? degree projects. The first study is a reference analysis used to categorize the cited sources in 33 degree projects from the teacher education program at one Swedish university. The aim was to find out what types of sources were used, in particular the amount of citations to scholarly publications. The results of the reference analysis showed that the majority of sources used were text books.

The term ?social competence? is widely used by organizations in job advertisements, despite the problems of making a unified definition of it. The purpose of this study is to investigate which features the organizations require, why organizations require them and how the assessment is implemented for recruitment. To answer the purpose of this study, eight qualitative interviews conducted with recruiters from four different staffing agencies. Further a literature study was performed to define the concept of ?social competence? and its meaning, in order to later connect this to the result.

I den teoretiska bakgrunden redogörs för såväl historisk som nutida självbiografiforskning med fokus på diskussioner kring sanningsanspråk, textens konstituerande karaktär och specifikt feministisk forskning på området. Studien syftar till att försöka finna de uppfattningar som låg- och mellanstadielärare uppvisar i samband med läxan som fenomen. Vi har genomfört en kvalitativ studie med semistrukturerade intervjuer. Intervjuerna har analyserats utifrån Hellstens (1997) sju konnotationer av begreppet läxan. Dessa är förberedelse, tidstruktur, kontroll och styrning, kärlek och omsorg, identitet och status, gemenskap och kontakt samt arbetsprestation. Vi fann att lärarnas syn på fenomenet läxan stämde väl överens med dessa sju redovisade funktioner.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease, which affects mostly women. RA is also a chronic disease and the treatment is focused on moderating the immunological process. RA-patients experience daily pain which affect their prosperity. The aim of this literature study is to illuminate some factors that influence the well-being of patients with RA. The factors that have been studied are pain, nutrition and need of knowledge about nutrition.

Bakgrunden till vår studie grundar sig i att utifrån ett medarbetareperspektiv undersöka hur individen upplever konflikten mellan makt och ansvar sett utifrån empowerment. Vi har genomfört en kvalitativ studie som grundar sig på kvalitativa forskningsintervjuer gjorda med anställda på olika företag.I en empowermentprocess så krävs det att det finns en fungerande kommunikation mellan chef och medarbetare. Förtroende och tillit har också visat sig vara av stor betydelse för att skapa en upplevelse av makt som i sin tur går att koppla an till individens subjektiva handlingsutrymme. Medarbetarens syn på ledarskapet handlar till stor del om chefens roll att skapa förutsättningar för en accepterande organisationskultur, detta för att en empowermentsatsning ska upplevas som positiv av båda parter. This literature study deals with the pig industry and how group size and available floor area affects the animal welfare and the production results. It shows that both the pigs? welfare and production result can be affected negatively if the environment seems stressful for the pigs, and if they are housed in a narrow area. If the pigs are being exposed to either physiological or psychological stress factors their immune system can be decreased and the growth can be impaired. Influence by the social status of the pigs is also reviewed.

Formal writing is an essential part of teaching Swedish and is fundamental for higher education and professional career. The aim of my essay is to research what didactic methods Swedish teachers utilizes in upper secondary school to improve students' abilities to write formal texts. I will also examine students? project papers in an attempt to measure the extent of formal word choice.  In the presentation of the literature I decided to use, for example, Per Olov Svedner?s perspective on writing as a process, Siv Strömquist?s manuals for essay writing and various literature regarding linguistic correctness and essay layout. Interviews with three upper secondary school teachers reveals that active feedback is a basis for students development regarding formal writing in both school and professional career.
