Studien har genom en metodtriangulering kartlagt svenska turisters mat- och dryckeskonsumtion på Koh Lanta och undersökt hur dessa kan påverka den lokala ekonomin med koppling till hållbar turism. Vidare har turisternas motivering till varför de konsumerar mat och dryck på olika platser samt deras medvetenhet om hållbar turism studerats.Syftet är att skapa en ökad förståelse för svenska turisters mat- och dryckeskonsumtion och undersöka hur medvetna de är om sin egen påverkan på destinationen Koh Lanta. Studien har i ett slutskede kommit fram till ett antal slutsatser. Bland annat har det konstaterats att svenska turister på Koh Lanta till större delen väljer att äta utanför hotellet de bor på, men att ju dyrare boendekostnad per person, desto oftare tenderar turisterna att äta på hotellrestaurangen. En annan slutsats är att medvetenheten om hållbar turism hos svenska turister är relativt hög, men att detta sällan präglar turisternas val och beteende.

I have with this thesis sought to understand how chick lit could be useful in the classroom in the teaching of Swedish B-course in high school. Based on the model of critical literacy I am arguing that this genre would help to meet the objectives of the policy documents which, among other things, are to critically examine and analyze various types of texts.I have found that some of these texts could be used for analyzing and critically examine the ideological dimensions of texts and cultural heritage by the model of critical literacy, and also as a counterweight to the more traditional teaching of the canonical literature as a literary historical stuff that students should learn. I have also wanted to create a basis for discussions about literature in the classroom based on the chick lit genre. To do this I have, based on three themes and questions from the model of critical literacy, tried to focus on issues that might emerge from the ideological analysis and critical review. This essay discusses the use of history, and primarily how the current Swedish society perceives and uses the Viking age. The analysis is based on a literature study as well as a case study of the planned theme park in Fullerö north of Uppsala, Sweden. The aim of the essay is to understand the regional debate which arose in media regarding the planning of Fullerö Park and how it reflects the contemporary use of history. Research about the use of history has become increasingly common in recent years and deals with how history is actively being used in society in order to meet its existing needs. These needs varies among different groups and individuals and results in a multitude of usages, where the interests of the different actors may be contradictory.

Transport is an important aspect to take account in efforts to achieve sustainable tourism development. If we do not change our behavior regarding travel, the consequences will be significant for the environment. This study examines the various transport operators on the two Swedish ski resorts if their websites and marketing are different from each other in the mode selection. The destinations are Åre and Hemavan Tärnaby. They studied modes are two Swedish airlines, two train companies, three bus companies and three taxi companies.These corporate websites are studied with a content analysis in which the results of the keywords that have been developed are scored according to different categories.

Syftet med studien är att undersöka de sociala, ekonomiska och miljömässiga faktorerna. För att analysera detta använder vi oss av teorier som berör hållbar utveckling och hållbar turism samt positiva och negativa aspekter av all-inclusivekonceptet. Metoden för undersökningen är kvalitativ där en fält- och intervjustudie genomförs i Alanya.

The aim of this thesis is to examine the Swedish public libraries acquisition processes when it comes to fiction for adults. The thesis focus on how the librarians responsible for acquiring view literary quality when they manage their collections and how their views coincide with that of the user?s explicit wishes. Furthermore this thesis looks at the librarians reading habits and how they coincide with that of their perceived users.The study uses literature pedagogic perspective theory to see how the librarians look at fiction and what they value in it. In order to get answers six librarians have been interviewed in this study that uses a qualitative approach to getting answers.

This master thesis deals with questions concerning facts and fiction in the world of Beatrix Potter's rabbits. The purpose is first and foremost to find the connections between the pet rabbits, that she used as art models, and the rabbits that came to life through her "tales".The method has been to gather facts through biographic reading, and to analyse Beatrix Potter's rabbit tales, using tools developed by Swedish picture book experts. The rabbit characters are thoroughly examined and so are the settings where the tales take place. Matters concerning Beatrix Potter's painting technique and illustration style as well as her literary and pictorial inspirations are dealt with.Conclusions are, that the fictive rabbit characters have indeed a lot to do with the fact that Beatrix Potter was interested in natural history and studied animal behaviour and anatomy in detail. For a long time rabbits, both wild and domesticated, were her favourite study objects which provided conditions for her rabbit fantasies.

The aim of this master thesis is to explore what role libraries play in the educational process for university students suffering from dyslexia. The question at issue is whether the library is able to meet the needs of students who have difficulty in using the libraries main resource, i.e. printed documents and information in written form. An often expressed view indicates that the modern library creates a lot of obstacles for dyslectic students. The method used is a literature study followed by an empirical study in which interviews were conducted with four students suffering from dyslexia and studying at two different universities and using different libraries.

Erosion in coastal areas is a common problem all around the world. The range of the problem depends on several factors, i.e. type of bed-rock and soil, wind and wave climate. Another factor is whether the area is of high interest, i.e. if the area is important for tourism and recreation, if there are houses and other buildings close to the shoreline or if it is a site of special scientific interest.

Hur miljö och människor påverkas av turismindustrin är högst aktuellt och genom detta har studiens syfte utformats. Syftet är att undersöka studenters värderingar samt medvetenhet kring arbetsvillkor och miljö inom turismnäringen. Ett kvantitativt tillvägagångsätt har används för att få ett representativt urval. Enkätformulär har skickats ut till studenter på Högskolan i Halmstad och 414 studenter har deltagit.

Fresh water has become more and more of a scarce commodity. Water scarcity isn't first and foremost a cause of drought and wasting, but a cause of inequality and mismanagement. This is not only a problem for developing countries, and there can also be variations within countries. The municipality of Gotland has a development program called Vision Gotland 2025, with goals for growth and sustainable development. The aim of this study is to examine whether the use and management of water resources on Gotland and Vision Gotland 2025 is conformed to the Water Framework Directive and the Ecosystem Approach in terms of sustainability.

Problem: Sveriges mikroföretag står för en företagskategori som tidigare har fått mindre uppmärksamhet. Denna grupp av företag har speciella förutsättningar för marknadsföring, exempelvis tid och pengar, vilket kan begränsa deras möjligheter att nå ut till kunden. Syfte: Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka hur familjeägda mikroföretag inom turismbranschen, i södra Sverige, arbetar med marknadsföring. Metod: Vårt tillvägagångssätt under denna uppsats är två kvalitativa metoder där vårt empiriska material består av intervjuer samt observationer. De teoretiska utgångspunkterna i denna uppsats har huvudsakligen varit den utökade marknadsföringsmixen, som har kombinerats med modellen mål med relationsmarknadsföring.

In this essay I analyze the meaning of the concepts home and at home and the feeling of coming home. What is a home and what different interpretations are there regarding the concepts of home and being at home? What kinds of feelings are aroused by coming home? The world we live in offers great opportunities to travel, which in itself creates a perspective on the meanings of the concepts. The world we live in also forces people to move from their homes, families and countries due to various reasons, which creates various problems and a certain urgency concerning the concepts. I describe basic terms concerning the concepts, both regarding concrete definitions and more abstract notions, and then compare them with my own reflections.         Based on my writing project Coming home I discuss these questions in various ways.

Vi har i vår uppsats funnit att den verkliga situationen för ett destinationsutvecklingsorgan som är i ett initialt skede av en eventsatsning är komplexare än vad den normativa teorin beskriver. Vår fallstudie påvisar tydligt att destinationsutvecklingsorgan inte alltid har strategier, mål och visioner för destinationsutveckling eller för hur de ska gå till väga i ett eventbeslut. Våra resultat tyder på att de som inte har några strategier som kan ligga till grund för sådana beslut styrs av irrationella ad hoc-beslut. För Region Skåne anser vi att det var ?Chansen? som var det primära motivet till att satsa på America?s Cup.
