Detta examensarbete omfattar generering samt vidareutveckling av koncept av en infästning för ett muckhanteringssystem på en tunnelborrningsmaskin. Maskinen, som går under arbetsnamnet Mobile miner, utvecklas av Atlas Copco tillsammans med bland andra konsultföretaget Svea Teknik AB. Examensarbetet genomförs parallellt med slutskedet av det verkliga utvecklingsprojektet och kan eventuellt komma att inkluderas. Examensarbetet har föregåtts av utvecklingen av tunnelborrningsmaskinen och dess främre muckhanteringssystem som består av en ramp (apron) och en kedjetransportör. Systemets uppgift är att samla upp och transportera bort den bergskross (muck) som genereras vid själva borringreppet.

Designsonder är en så kallad innovativ metod (Hanington, Methods in the Making: A Perspective on the State of Human Research in Design, 2003) som låter deltagarna i studien vara kreativa och delaktiga i designprocessen. Det finns ingen exakt definition av designsonder, men ofta handlar det om ett paket med ett antal uppgifter som delas ut till deltagarna. Exempel på vanliga övningar är att skriva en dagbok om användandet av artefakten som studeras samt att genom en engångskamera låta deltagaren dokumentera sitt användande.Denna rapport syftar till att undersöka designsonders potential som inspiration till designprocessen. Samtidigt undersöks hur metoden designsond fungerar på den aktuella målgruppen: studenter som använder Key-husets entrémiljö på Linköpings universitet. Rapporten belyser därmed problematiken med att ta steget från de tidiga faserna i designprocessen, där fokus ligger på att förstå användarna av artefakten som ska designas, till själva designandet av artefakten.

This master thesis studies how much the cycle time, i.e. the time it takes for an industrial robot to perform a given task, can be reduced if an extra degree of freedom (DOF) is added to the robot system. The extra DOF consists of a linear track, which is supposed to be used in an optimal way. The problem has been studied using simulations in the robot simulation tool RobotStudio. To be able to run an optimization in Matlab, with the RobotStudio simulation cycle time as the object function, communication between Matlab and RobotStudio has been set up with an interface written in Visual Basic.

Målet med denna studie är att framställa en modell för sannolikheten för skred i Cuenca del Arga i Navarra, Spanien, med hjälp av GIS och oskarp logik. Utifrån denna modell framställs en karta som visar områden där det finns sannolikhet för skred. Övergripande har metoden skett i fyra steg. Först har en skredindexkarta framställts, sedan har medlemsfunktioner skapats utifrån dessa med hjälp av skredriskparametrar. De ingående parametrarna har varit sluttningsvinkel, topografisk fuktighetsindex, avstånd till vattendrag, jordmån och markanvändning.

This study examines a case of cooperation between banks, commerce, police and the municipality of Skövde, which in a project has the target to reduce the use of cash by 15 % in the city during 2011. The purpose of this study is to increase the understanding of the importance of cooperation in which different actors come together to reach a common goal, such as speed or interfere with an ongoing change, while they must meet their own interests. In this study the case of cooperation has been studied by using a qualitative approach. The methods used in this study are participant observation and a group interview as well as personal interviews. The theories underlying the study revolve around the concepts of collaboration between organizations with similar interests, changes in society, conflict and resistance to change..

För alpina skidåkare mäter man prestationer i så kallad FIS-ranking. Vi undersöker några metoder för hur man kan analysera data där responsen består av ranger som dessa. Vid situationer då responsdata utgörs av urval av ranger finns ingen självklar analysmetod. Det vi undersöker är skillnaderna vid användandet av olika regressionsanpassningar så som linjär, logistisk och ordinal logistisk regression för att analysera data av denna typ. Vidare används bootstrap för att bilda konfidensintervall.

Tillgänglighet och rätten att deltaga i samhället, oavsett funktionsnedsättning eller inte, bör vara på lika villkor för alla individer. Regeringen har satt upp mål för att undanröja enkelt avhjälpta hinder innan utgången av 2010, vilket nu har passerat. Syftet med studien var att beskriva tillgängligheten på hamburgerrestauranger för personer i rullstol samt undersöka i vilken omfattning enkelt avhjälpta hinder och övriga hinder existerade. Vid undersökningen användes en checklista för att bedöma sju hamburgerrestauranger i en mellanstor stad i Sverige. Bedömningsområdena var Entré, Vertikal förflyttning Trapp/Ramp, Rum och utrymme, Toalett användbar för personer i rullstol, Beställningsdisk, Skyltning och Inredning.

The composition of the board of directors and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) are two widely researched subject and discussed by the media. This study aims to examine the impact of the board of directors' composition on CSR performance among the largest companies listed on Nasdaq OMX stock exchange 2008 in Stockholm, Sweden. A linear regression analysis is applied to investigate the relationship and evidence is found that board attributes have an effect on CSR performance. Among these; the size of the board, outside directors and employee representatives all have a positive impact on environmental performance. Furthermore; female, outside directors and employee representatives have a positive impact on social performance.

In many clinical applications, it is desirable to transmit sensor information wireless. In earlier research, investigation transmit ECG signal using Bluetooth, was performed. However, when Bluetooth has some drawbacks it is of interest to investigate alternative methods, one such method is ZigBee. Bluetooth has higher data rate speed (1Mbps) than ZigBee (250kbps). However, Bluetooth consumes more power.

Den här rapporten har utrett möjligheten att automatiskt identifiera diken frånflygburet insamlat LiDAR-data. Den metod för identifiering som har valts harförst skapat en höjdbild från LiDAR-data. Därefter har den tagit fram kandidatertill diken genom att vektorisera resultatet från en linjedetektering. Egenskaper-na för dikeskandidaterna har sedan beräknats genom en analys av höjdprofilerför varje enskild kandidat, där höjdprofilerna skapats utifrån ursprungliga data.Genom att filtrera kandidaterna efter deras egenskaper kan dikeskartor med an-vändarspecificerade mått på diken presenteras i ett vektorformat som underlättarvidare användning. Rapporten beskriver hur algoritmen har implementerats ochpresenterar också exempel på resultat.

The organic farmland is increasing all the time and the goal is that 15 % of the Swedish farmland will be in organic production in year 2010. The organic production needs new and more effective ways to control weeds, and there is the row harrowing coming as a good complement to the conventional weed harrowing. In this experiment is weed harrowing whit different row spaces and row harrowing with a spacing of 25 cm compared. Then are the weed picked and the weight taken of them. The yield is compared in the 7 different ways of treatment. The results is not showing any significant differences in yield even when the row spacing is 25 cm instead of 12,5 cm. Even the spring wheat that is a sensitive crop and has bad tillering is doing well in this experiment. Now with modern technology where the row harrow is controlled by a camera that making the row harrow to follow the rows is it the soil coverage of the crop that is the limit for the speed. This thesis discusses model based tracking of radar echoes in tanks with liquid content. The errors in the measurements are not always random in these cases, and the interference that occurs when nearby echoes moves in relation to each other makes tracking difficult. The tracking problem can be broken down to four parts; track initiation, track destruction, association of the measured echoes to the tracks and to update the tracks with the associated echoes. The radar measurement is primarily made on the surface. However, additional echoes from the tank floor or other structures and double bounces are normally present.

This thesis aims to investigate if there are any differences in the value relevance of yearly earnings announcements before (2000-2004) and after (2005-2009) IFRS were implemented for listed companies in the European Union. To assess the value relevance of earnings, an earnings response coefficient (ERC) is estimated using a linear OLS-regression model. The regression model uses accounting earnings per share as the explaining variable, with the corresponding return starting from (but not including) the previous year's earnings announcement date, ending at (and including) the current earnings announcement date, as the dependent variable. This study finds that there is no statistically significant difference between the estimated ERCs for the two periods. Although no statistically significant difference is found, data shows that the R2-values, which measure the explanatory power of the regressions, are higher for the period before IFRS.
