This work is an experimental study where knock sensor placements are investigated using engine tests. The aim is to studythe quality of the signal from knock sensors and how the signal for engine control is affected at different sensor locations on Scanias, engine DC13. To find out at witch position on the engine youcan get a usable signal for engine control, the engine is running while the knock sensors with advanced measurement equipment is connected to the engine. Evaluation of signals from the knock sensors are made in the computer program Matlab. The program is producing a seriesof plots, from these plots it is visually possible to draw conclusions and find connections.

Abstract The purpose of this project is to develop a modular processor card which is intended to work as a platform for Kitron Development Karlskoga. The modular processor card is meant to be used as a control system in development projects, mainly in medical and industrial products. The processor card will consist of a central unit with the basic functions for a control system. Furthermore there will be complete modules with machine commodity and programming, to pick exactly the necessary functions for a specific application. With consideration to the specification of the development and the main unit, I chose an adequate microprocessor (AT90CAN32) as core and interface circuits to stated border areas. The construction is first completed in the program MultiSim and then remade in the program OrCAD Capture. The programming language C was used in the software model.

This study focuses the gendered relations of the Military Academy of Karlberg. More specific the study is investigating the experiences among young women and men cadets of suppression techniques. The purpose of the study is to get more knowledge about the work climate and suppression techniques at the officers? training program 2007/2010. The research questions employed for the study were:- Do the women and men officer students/cadets have any experiences of master suppressiontechniques at the officers? training program?- What kind of master suppression techniques occur at the officer?s training program?- What kind of master suppression techniques do women experience?- What kind of master suppression techniques do men experience?The study is a survey and data were retrieved by a questionnaire sent out to the participants.

Examensarbete som bestod i att rita en låg- och mellanstadieskola i det nybyggda området Annedal. Skolan är programmerad för cirka 600 elever, sex årskurser med fyra klasser i varje årskurs, 25 elever i varje klass. Utöver de olika klassrummens hemklassrum breddades skolans program genom att låta specialklassrummen (slöjdsalar, idrottshall, mm) rita sig utåt och bli offentliga lokaler efter skoltid. Skolans program består alltså av 24 klassrum med tillhörande hemvister, två musiksalar, sal för träslöjd, sal för syslöjd, bibliotek, fullskalig idrottshall med fyra tillhörande omklädningsrum, en aula som rymmer hela skolan samt andra mer serviceinriktade skollokaler såsom matsal, skolkök och kontor för skolans administration.För att ta sig an skolans stora program användes en metod där skolan fick komma till som i ett collage. Olika väl fungerande rumsligheter från andra projekt blev inspirationskällor som införlivades och fogades in i byggnaden.Tanken om collaget blev även vägledande i utformningen av byggnadens estetik samt dess tekniska detaljer.

The aim of this study was to get a deeper understanding of how employees at NCC Construction Sverige AB experience health promotion activities. The purpose was to identify and uncover the process of meaning constitution concerning health promotion within each subjective individual. To achieve this deeper understanding the participants were asked to answer a carefully formulated phenomenological question in a self-report. The received reports where analysed according to the method of Meaning Constitution Analysis. The result showed that both office workers and construction workers exclusively refer health promotion to bodily functions even though there where some differences in type of activity they focused.

The Landscape Architecture Program at SLU, Ultuna provide several design courses. Within these courses, students are mainly introduced to one type of design process, a process based on the specific site and its conditions, known as Genius Loci. This report presents a course and a design methodology from Cornell University which aims to provide students with tools for a more conceptual way of thinking about design and architecture. The design method is presented in two stages. First an introduction to the course description and objectives.

January 1, 1999, a new sex purchase law was introduced in Sweden, Lag (1998: 408). The law implies that in a sex trade a crime is committed only by the consumer in the sex trade. The majority of consumers in prostitution are men and the suppliers are women. When prostitution is problematized it's usually from the woman's point of view and the perspective of the man is often overlooked. The new law has shed light on the consumer and made the male more visible in the public debate.

Costs of maintenance on agriculture machines is something that many farmers has a low knowledge of, it can depend on low interest or that the farmer don?t have enough time. To make it easier for the farmers they can use many computer programs which are available on the market. In this program they can calculate their costs of maintaince on their agriculture machines, for example STANK and JTI machine calculation program. Most of this program is using Svensson (1987) costs model whish was made in Sweden in the middle of 80 decade in a large study.

Anledningen till att jag valde att skriva om valet till gymnasiet är att jag blev nyfiken på vad som påverkar elevernas beslut och vad det är som tilll slut gör att de väljer som de gör. Nyfikenheten uppkom efter att jag själv varit i valet och kvalet när jag skulle välja program på gymnasiet. Mitt syfte är att genom en enkätundersökning och efterföljande intervjuer försöka få vetskap om vad som påverkar elevernas val till gymnasiet. Jag vill även försöka undersöka överhuvudtaget varför man väljer som man väljer. Jag har valt att koncentrera mig extra på det Naturvetenskapliga programmet och är därmed nyfiken på vad högstadieeleverna tror krävs av dem som väljer detta program.Jag vill även ta reda på vad för slags information om detta program man fått och från vem denna har kommit.

The purpose of this study was to compare normal electroretinographies (ERGs) from three different canine breeds in order to evaluate if there were any marked similarities or differences between these breeds as to ERG responses. It is known that healthy dogs from different breeds but also dogs within the same breed but in different age categories may have different appearances of their ERG responses. This may be a problem when evaluating if an ERG is normal or not from a dog within a breed not previously examined. Because of this it is important to obtain normal values for each breed and age group in order to be able to use these for later comparisons of ERGs obtained from individuals affected with various retinal diseases. In this study we have chosen to examine dogs within the three breeds: Labrador Retriever (LR), English Springer Spaniel (ESS) and Chinese Crested Dog (CCD). All of these breeds may be affected with hereditary retinal diseases such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). It is possible that ERG-responses vary due to a number of different factors.

Sweden is the country that has got the largest amount of elderly in the adult population in the world. The physical activity level decreases as we grow old and we experience muscle mass loss and a bone density reduction. This leads to an increased risk for falls and subsequent fractures. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether an exercise program could affect muscle function and balance ability to prevent falls. 17 women (age 64-79) participated in this study and was assigned to a control group (n=7) and an intervention group (n=10).

Elever i årskurs nio står inför ett val då de ska söka till gymnasiet. De blir informerade, av studie- och yrkesvägledarna och även av rektorerna på gymnasieskolorna, om de program som det finns att välja på i deras närhet. Vi har bestämt oss för att titta närmare på den här informationen, hur den ser ut och om alla program får lika mycket uppmärksamhet. Vi har valt att inrikta oss på det individuella programmet. Detta har lett följande frågeställningar: ? Vilken information får högstadieeleverna om individuella programmet? ? Hur presenteras informationen för eleverna på högstadiet? ? Vilka attityder har studie- och yrkesvägledare på högstadiet och rektorerna på gymnasieskolan till individuella programmet? För att nå fram till ett resultat har vi använt oss av viss litteraturgenomgång men främst av de intervjuer som vi har genomfört med sex stycken studie- och yrkesvägledare och två rektorer.

Syftet med denna rapport var att undersöka hur gymnasieelever ser på nyttan med matematiken och den gjordes som en jämförelse mellan två olika program. Vi använde oss av den kvantitativa metoden enkät för att få reda på omfattningen av elevernas uppfattning av nyttan. Därefter genomfördes elevintervjuer för att få en bredare bild av deras nytto-upplevelse. Samtal med lärare kompletterade vår bakgrundsförståelse för matematiken i de olika programmen. Vid enkätundersökningen kom vi fram till att eleverna i stort tror att de behöver matematiken men under intervjun hade de svårt att komma med exempel på vilken nytta de har haft eller kommer att ha av matematiken.

The purpose of this thesis is to collect knowledge of techniques and materials for planning roofgardens. Gardens built on top of buildings is not a new phenomenon, already in the beginning of the century architects were experimenting with roofgardens. During the Modern Era roofgardens appeared as a part of the design and worked well together with flat roofs and the ideas of light, air and greenery. Today the most common kind of roofgarden is on a ground-level joist that hides parking or other underground functions. The most important difference between planning a roofgarden and a garden on the ground is the limitation of the load of the roofgarden. Plants, paving-material and equipment must be chosen with this in mind. A light and thin layer of soil demands plants with small needs for water and nutrition.

Syftet med min studie var att undersöka om problemlösning i matematik gick att förena med användandet av digitala hjälpmedel/program ur ett elev- och lärarperspektiv. Mina frågeställningar rörde hur digitala program som verktyg påverkade matematikundervisningen och hur elever och lärare såg på att arbeta på detta sätt. Det har visat sig i olika rapporter och bland forskare att skolan i Sverige generellt är dålig på att använda digitala verktyg i matematikundervisningen. I skolans styrdokument står det tydligt att moderna verktyg ska användas i undervisningen. Vidare visar rapporter på att matematikundervisningen fortfarande tenderar att vara tyst räkning. Forskare menar att om man använder sig av digitala verktyg leder detta till samspel.
