I focus on the informants' television viewing and I compare this cross-generational, and in relation to other media use. Material/Method: The method I used in this thesis is qualitative interviews. My choice fell on this method because I believe it to be the most suitable for obtaining the data needed.

In Abisko National Park there are a numberof weather stations. To be able toretrieve the data from the nodes in thefuture a Quadrocopter-prototype has beendeveloped during this master thesisproject as a first step. This project measures the upper bound of exposure time for laser reflection detection in the software DotDetector. Via measurement of the exposure time for which distortion happens in a room lit with everyday light we conclude that the upper bound for exposure times are 100 milliseconds. This value does not change as long as the lighting in the room is the same. As future work this project proposes variable upper bounds depending on secondary lighting in the room. Also we propose automating the colour masking of the detection algorithm..

Fertiliteten hos högavkastande mjölkkor i världen har en negativ trend. Eftersom brunststyrkan avtagit i takt med att mjölkproduktionen ökat, och lantbrukarna har allt mindre tid avsatt för observation av sina djur, finns en växande marknad för automatiska brunstpassningssystem. I denna studie utvärderas ett sådant system; Heatime®. Arbetet är tvådelat, och består av en retrospektiv studie av den eventuella förändring i besättningarnas fertilitetsresultat som uppkommit efter installation av systemet och en enkätstudie som utvärderade hur nöjda 65 lantbrukare var efter inköp. Efter att ha granskat och jämfört fertilitetsdata (antal kor, inkalvningsålder, kalvningsintervall (KI), kalvning till första insemination (KFI), kalvning till sista insemination (KSI), antal inseminationer/serie, 56 dagar non-return, andel dräktiga av nypåbörjade och dräktighetsprocent per insemination) från de databaser som finns i Sverige (kokontroll och seminrapportering) från två år före installation med två år efter konstaterades att dessa värden inte skiljde sig signifikant åt. Detta beror antagligen på att fertiliteten hos mjölkkor är så pass multifaktoriell att det finns fler faktorer än bara brunstpassning som påverkar resultaten. Resultaten av enkätundersökningen visade att majoriteten (94 %) av de som köpt systemet var så pass nöjda att de skulle köpa det igen, och 96 % av dem tyckte sig se en förbättring av fertilitetsresultaten efter installation. Vidare uppgav 76 % att de ansåg sig spara väsentligt med tid varje vecka efter installation av Heatime®. Om tid sparas varje arbetsdag utan negativ påverkan på fruktsamheten får detta ses som en vinst och skulle kunna motivera en installation av systemet.

WLAN i form av standarden IEEE 802.11 används inte i större utsträckning i industriell miljö. Vi undersöker hur pass protokollet kan användas för datakommunikation i sådan miljö med avseende på störningskänslighet och datorkraftsbehov, i form av en empirisk undersökning. Dessa undersökningar har utförts på en industri med de tre vanligaste standarderna IEEE 802.11b/g/n. Syftet med denna uppsats är att kontrollera vad som stör signalerna samt om den nyaste standarden 802.11n har något nytt som kan revolutionera inriktningen. Tester och undersökningar har visat att 802.11b och 802.11n är bäst när det gäller signalstyrka med störningskällor i omgivningen.

The City of Gothenburg has an urgent need to upgrade its public transport. The capacity of its light rail transit (LRT) has reached maximum capacity within the inner city limits years ago. The construction of an underground metro will be very expensive and time consuming due to the soft clay beneath the city. The apparent need of developing another type of mass rapid transit (MRT) is urgent. An elevated metro have turned out to be a success in Greater Vancouver, but is it possible for the system to operate well in Gothenburg with its narrow streets and current land use; will its route coexist with the current LRT or will the noise disturb people too much?.

This report is of technical character and treats how to plan a small building in Borlänge, Sweden.The technical components that have been treated in the report are the construction, foundation,installations and thermic abilities of the house. In addition to planning this house the report alsocontains a part that deepens in net zero energy buildings. The purpose of the report is toinvestigate if the house in Borlänge can be constructed to meet net zero energy buildingdemands.Energy efficient houses such as passive- and net zero energy houses are showing more frequenton the market in Sweden. Ongoing climate changes and growing consciousness about theenvironment in society have contributed to that the environment is a well discussed topic. Toconsume small amounts of energy and at the same time produce local energy is thereforesomething that lies in the future and future houses.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att inventera några av de vanligaste metoderna som finns på den svenska marknaden för att göra förtestning av TV-reklam. Vi kommer även att undersöka vikten av att göra en förtest och hur pass pålitligt testresultatet är. Vi vill tillsist undersöka i vilken utsträckning företagen och kunderna är medvetna om eventuella brister i mätmetoderna. Genom kvalitativa intervjuer med undersökningsföretag, kunder och reklambyråer inom området har vi fått information som hjälper oss att besvara vår problemställning; Vad är det man som företag får ut av att göra förtestning av sin TV-reklam?.

The food prices in Finland and Sweden have been a subject for discussion for several years back in time. From the opponents against further European integration one have often heard that the EU and EMU entrance have made an negative impact on the food prices. This study show us that the impactof the entrances was extensive in the short run but rather finite and insignificant in the long run.Other important factors that describe why food prices fluctuate is also discussed. The mainconclusion is that other factors than the EU and EMU entrance should be seen as more likely whenit comes to the development of food prices. Denna litteraturstudie gjordes i syfte att belysa vad som har betydelse för att ett lärande ska främjas i skolan med diskussioner och samtal i fokus. Genom att studera tidigare forskning angående dialog i klassrummet syftade denna studie till att besvara konversationens betydelse för elevers lärande. I denna systematiska litteraturstudie kopplades ett sociokulturellt perspektiv in för att undersöka vad som har betydelse för att samtal ska vara till hjälp för elevers lärande. I resultatet kom flera olika faktorer fram som var främjande för elevers lärande i samtal och diskussioner. Betydelsen av deliberativa samtal visades vara olika efter de studier som undersöktes, där betydelsen visades vara antingen positiv eller resultatlös.

Jämställdhet upplevs bland Räddningstjänsten Dala Mitts medarbetare vara av storbetydelse och det finns en stark önskan om att få in fler kvinnliga medarbetare.Trots detta har Räddningstjänsten Dala Mitt idag inte en enda heltidsbrandmansom är kvinna. Bath has been a part of human history for a long time. Today bathing/swimming inmunicipal pools is for people of all ages and it is possible to take swimming courses,exercise or enjoy recreation. The municipal indoor pool of Hogdalen in Sweden wasbuild in the sixties and has had problems with high levels of heterotrophic bacteria. Thefacility has two larger pools, one adventure park for young kids, two smaller bath tubsand a jacuzzi. The aim of this work is to give an example of how archaeoacoustics can broaden our understanding of archaeological remains and to further contribute to the almost non-existing research of ringing stones. With a theoretical discussion about sound from three different perspectives and by means of using different kinds of analysis, this essay will show that there are unknown relations between the three known ölandic ringing stones and the cultural landscape of Öland. Possible patterns in the placement of the stones and the possibility of the sound in this soundscape will be investigated. The essay will also suggest a resonant stone typology and discuss the necessity of one. Finally, the intention is also to shed new light upon the discussion on what the uses of the ringing stones might have been..
